《An Ode For The Lightning Phoenix》Chapter 07 : The Dark Guild?
It wasn’t by accident that I wanted my clone to be a member of that so-called Dark Guild.
For a while now, ever since I learned how dangerous this world was, I wanted a force I could call my own, working in the shadows, feeding me information about my enemies, and performing assassinations when necessary.
When I got the [Darkness] rune, it was as if everything was fitting into place. That element suited my goals.
Not only could I enslave others with [Dark Corrosion], and awaken a new [darkness] variant rune into my slaves, but I could also ensure their complete loyalty.
When my clone brought me home, both my parents were already awake.
I was shocked to see that my father was up and about. My dark healing would have put him out of commission for a few days at least. Now I knew that there would be too many questions that would come my clone's way. With my father's thorough nature, no stones would be left unturned.
I only hoped that my clone could handle it properly.
In the hour I was 'missing' my father had called for his entire army.
His maddened face showed so much hatred that I shivered just seeing it.
"Duke Kuzah, I presume." My clone said as he put me on the ground while it remained floating in the air.
"To whom do I have the pleasure…"John Kuzah said.
"Davis Black…but that's not my real name though." My clone said with a grin.
In the meantime, I slowly walked toward my father.
As he saw that I was alright, I used that time to try and end the conversation right there, “Father, this man saved us…saved me from M. Alucard Firestorm who is now dead a few dozen kilometers away from here.”

But John stopped me, “He can speak for himself.” he then looked at my obsidian-skinned clone with radiant eyes.
“Ahem…well…That man was a target of mine that I’ve been tailing for a while now. When I saw him going crazy, I felt compelled to act.” Davis Black said.
John put two and two together and then asked, “Did someone pay you to kill him, or was it a personal vendetta.”
“I was paid to kill him, yes. I can’t tell you from who though…I hope you can understand.” Davis Black said with his enigmatic smile.
Davis Black waved his hand in a parting gesture as he conjured a black marble made of dark elements. He threw the marble towards John saying, “If you are ever in need of our services, the Dark Guild will be at your service…for a price of course. Just crush that marble and I’ll know to come and meet you.”
With that, he turned into black smoke that drifted away, but no one saw his soul entering my head at the same time.
John just stood there unmoving. I could imagine him having a mountain’s worth of questions that he’ll never get an answer to.
In the end, he sighed and then had me recount everything that happened in detail from the moment he fainted.
I ‘confessed’ that Alucard saw me attempt to summon some otherworldly creature unsuccessfully and then he forgot my brother and set his sights on me. He grabbed me and flew away until he was ambushed by the bizarre obsidian man who made quick work of him.
I emphasized how a B rank fire mage died in mere minutes from the onslaught of the obsidian man to make the latter mysterious enough in the mind of my father. I wanted my father to respect him as well as fear him.

As for the revelation of my summoning talents and how rare they were…rare would be an understatement because normal summoners caught their beasts in the real world and then signed contracts with them. The reason Alucard was ‘apparently so crazy’ was because he could feel a new world from my summoning circle. I had to make it so that my father understood it as such from my limited words.
“Can you summon something for me to see?” was my father's words after a lengthy explanation.
“But I have no idea if it will work, it didn’t work earlier,” I said trying to distance myself from the task.
“Maybe you were trying to summon something beyond your current capabilities. You are just a child, so try something smaller, a house cat for example.” He said with his ever-present stoic face.
I admired him for his intellect, but if he wanted a house cat…then a house cat he will get. I didn’t want to summon something that would ultimately plot my death behind my back because I cannot sustain its appetite.
Surely, there must be housecats in the other dimensions.
Oh, boy was I wrong. If I only knew what calamity I was about to invite into our world.
It came in form of a British shorthair blue cat. With all its cuteness and majesty.
When the link was being made, I made sure I was only thinking of that kind of cat, which led my soul to a world that looked like a paradise. It made me wonder if someone would ever want to leave it to come to a decrepit world such as ours.
I saw all colors of rabbits, chipmunks, and pandas. No predators in sight. They all looked at me with hopeful eyes, which made me wonder why none of them were coming toward me. Rather they reluctantly distanced themselves once I got near them.
It was then that my eyes fell onto a blue meteor in the sky coming directly at me. I could see the panicked faces of the little beasts scurrying to run away.
Before I could see what the blue meteor was, it hit my soul, and then I opened my eyes to the real world to see an arrogant face of a British shorthair cat.
How come I got to get my choice so easily?
I was thinking that maybe there was some foul play somewhere but had no proof.
“Hahaha…I Graxx am finally out of that goddamn prison…You fool, what are you waiting for? Sign the contract. Quickly.”

The Girl Named Rino
Oh. Hello. I didn't see you come in. No, don't worry. I don't need to hear your name. I already know what it is. I also knew that you'd come up at around this time. But, at the same time, I also didn't know. It's very hard to put into words - but that's what happens when you become the Chaos God. Your psyche gets messed up, big time. That's even more so for me, who was already warped enough to confuse reality with imagination - and, even make the rest of the universe believe that it was so. But, enough about me. Let's talk about you. You seem to come from a very far away land. It's faint, but your presence is there - in a relatively primitive planet. No wonder, no one wanted to stay in, or conquer your region of the universe - there's nothing worth controlling there. Your existence, much like your entire solar system, also seems to be pretty insignificant. Tell me, is your race capable of destroying your own world? Oh, you're already well along the way? Global Warming? Pollution? Overpopulation? Nuclear weapons? Wow... it's been many millenia since I'd last heard of such ancient concepts from someone who is actually living through it. Still, good job getting that far. That means that your world is now, at least, worth considering as a possible place to install a World System. If I find the time, I'll try surveying it. You can just thank me, later. Oh wait! What kind of person am I, not even offering my guest any hospitality. I'm ashamed. Please, take a seat. What would you like? I have everything the multiverse has to offer, whatever it is you want - I can get. Ah! After we talk, would you mind, if I asked you to do me a tiny favor? There's this girl, I want to keep tabs on. She's in one of the Worlds that I preside over, it's called Aiarthe. But, for some reason, I can't see her - not directly, at least. All I need you to do, is check up on her from time to time. Whether you do it as a pure spectator or through someone else's eyes, is entirely up to you. Really!? You would!? Wow! Thanks! You really did me, a huge solid there! For agreeing so quickly, how about I get started on surveying that planet of yours, right now!? You can help yourself, to anything in the fridge! Well, see ya!
