《Daydream of Gods》24 Typhoon:A Good Person

A city was bustling with life, although it was night the market was illuminated, almost no trace of darkness could be seen, kids were running through the streets, parents and couples both were enjoying a festival, this was a human city in the outskirts of the Kingdom of Wind.
Thanks to the dangerous region that was not far from it, it was bustling with life, it was gathering of different people, most of which were hunters or other different kinds of warriors, who had decided to make money through fighting, there were many different species gathered here, elf men different kinds of beast men with a wide variety of features, and others.
As long as you were strong this was a good place to make a living, and as long as there were people here other business would prosper as well.
A bar on the main street was packed with people, cheers and laughter could be heard everywhere, people continued to come even after no more tables were free, even a person who wasn’t from here could tell that currently all people were happy and in celebrating mood, but for some people now was the hardest time of the year, since there were too many clients.
Client “here I want two sandwiches with ham”
Waiter “four more cups of beer for table three”
Boss ”hurry up, pick up the pace”
“Ok, ok , coming” a boy answered with a cheerful smile on his face.
At this moment in his mind a voice resounded [Honestly I don’t know how you can still have smile like that considering that you have been working for so many hours without a break ]
Boy [even if I don’t smile I still need to work, so at least I want to feel happy while I do it]
The boy continued to work till late at night, after he finished the boss gave him a bag with his wage and some freshly made food from the kitchen .
Boss ”I am glad I hired you, you are a good kid, how about I increased the time of the contact, what do you say ”
“sorry I cant, I wont stay in this town for long” the boy answered while shaking his head.
Seeing that he cant persuade him the boss let out a sight, a useful guy like him was hard to find in this town.
The boy arrived in his room ate and directly went to sleep.
If this boy was to be described with one word, it would be, ordinary, he wasn’t handsome, or ugly, fat or thin, his body was on the positive spectrum but was just a bit more muscular than an ordinary man, just by walking in the street you would meet people more muscular than him, the only thing about him which was different, was that he gave a feeling of comfort and positivity.

But the thing which attracted the eyes of people the most when they saw him wasn’t he himself but the bird on his shoulder, it was extremely small and cute, it could fit into the palm of your hand, it looked like gerygone, it had a light green color with dark green eyes, and it almost looked like a feather ball which you wanted to hug, most of the time it looked like it was sleeping but it was always with him.
However it was normal for the bird to be attention grabbing, that was a god after all, the god of wind, Typhoon at first took a human form but after a bit of consideration she decided to change it to this bird one, it was much more convenient.
The sun shined, the day was here.
“Yawn” the boy woke up, but his eyes were shutting again, it was apparent that he wasn’t a morning person.
Typhoon [Jhin what are we gonna do today, I am starting to get bored here, cant we finish the job already]
Actually the boy was named John, but due to other mighty existence sharing the same name Typhoon wanted to change it, and since he didn’t mind he was now named Jhin.
Jhin stretched as he answered [you know we still don’t have the money to leave, and working there has benefits, as for the boredom, I am sorry but I don’t know what I can do about it, why don’t you explore the city once again]
Typhoon[I did everything I found interesting here, nothing is left]she let out a deep sigh, they have been here for around a month, she had explored every place she thought was interesting, but she knew that Jhin was saving money so they can travel comfortably so she didn’t push her opinion further
The two went to get breakfast and took a walk around the city while eating.
Jhin looked around curiously [but honestly, we were lucky, I managed to find a jog relatively easily, what was it, the Day of the Defender, we really lucked out with our timing didn’t we]
The god and Jhin were conversing but nobody looked their way, their communication wasn’t verbal but in the mind, that was a special power which the saints had, they could communicate with their gods without the need for words.
[I researched it while you were on work, it looks like this Kingdom was at the bring of destruction because of a natural disaster long ago, but a giant which is usually considered a monster stopped it by standing in its path, it lost its life but it bought enough time for the Kingdom to be saved, now they celebrate it, its funny thing actually, they celebrate the saving of the Kingdom, but at the same time they celebrate the dead of their savior as well, instead of morning it] typhoon said with amused tone.

Jhin just rubbed his head and laughed foolishly, he didn’t know how to reply.
On the way the saw a child crying. It had lost it parents, seeing it Jhin immediately helped, after which he went on his way once again, a lot of people greeted him as they saw him.
[as always you are quite popular aren’t you, also if you keep this up we wont be able to save the money even after a year] Typhoon gave him a disapproving gaze.
Jhin answered laughingly [well there is nothing I can do, I cant leave a kid crying]
[but did you need to buy it a toy so it would stop crying, that was just a waste of money]Typhoon
Jhin still had the cheerful smile on his face [I can always just earn them again, a few more days for the smile of a child, it doesn’t sound like a bad deal, and I couldn’t think of anything else so I had no choice]
The bird let out a deep breath, this wasn’t the first time this had happened.
[you are an idiot aren’t you] Typhoon
Jhin laughed as he heard that [not the first time I hear that]
Typhoon rolled back her eyes[probably not the last either].
As they talked, they arrived in the bar.
“hellow everyone” Jhin greeted with a charming smile.
“hellow”;
“Hey”
“good morning”
Boss “hy, but aren’t you a bit early, your shift doesn’t start for another hour”
Jhin”I know, but after yesterday I thought that you might have too much cleaning to do today, so I thought to help”
Everyone looked at him with tearful eyes, even they themselves didn’t want to be here, but he came to help them even when they didn’t know each other too well.
Even the boss had a look of appreciation.”hahahaha that is how young people should be, after you finish order something to eat, its on the house”
“ I will take up the offer, it saves money after all” Jhin said honestly with a laugh.
Seeing this the boss laughed once again and patted his shoulder, after which he went to work as well.
Boss waved his hand as he entered his office ’order a lot of food, after all if you work a lot you should eat a lot as well”
After half an hour the staff finished cleaning and sat down to rest.
Other waiters gave Jhin a look “honestly you are a huge help, its too bad that you wont work here much longer”
Jhin knew what his friend wanted to say and just shook his head ”I cant stay, the boss asked me as well, but I want to explore the other cities”
The water didn’t add anything else, after all the story which Jhin told them wasn’t something happy to talk about.
Jhin parents barely had money, they were hunters which came here to look for luck but found misfortune, they raised Jhin but not long ago they had died, their wish had been to travel around the world but they had died on their last mission, Jhin didn’t tell their names, only that he didn’t want to talk more about it, so nobody pressured him, this kind of story was not something rare here, of course the waiter couldn’t have known that this story was completely fabricated.
Night came and the bar was full with people once again, a beautiful young lady walked in and ordered, the moment she did everyone started to pay attention to her.
Boss went to personally greet her “what would be today Rose”
Rose answered with a smile “the usual”
Boss ’we already prepared it, by the way how is your father, I heard that your merchant group is doing pretty well nowadays”
Rose let a sigh, nodding her head ”he is well, our business is prospering well, but the better we do, the more work we have, we barely have enough people”
At this moment Jhin arrived and served her food, seeing him Boss smiled playfully and put his hand on his shoulder.
Boss ”then how about hiring this boy here ,you are already know Jhin, honestly he is too good for this place, he wants to save money to leave the city but the wages here are not enough, so how about hiring him for a few days and see what he can do ”
Jhin looked at him with appreciating gaze.
Seeing this Rose chuckled ”ok I don’t mind, how about coming tomorrow before work and let me see if you can do the Job”
Jhin smiled with gratefulness “ thank you for the opportunity”
Rose waved her hand with a smile ”don’t think about it, if you can do your Job I will be the one that should be thanking you”
Boss patted his back, barely not knocking him on the table ”good for you boy, if she hires you, you wont need to come anymore , I think we would all be able to manage without you, so don’t think about us and do your best”
Jhin looked behind and saw all the staff giving him a thumbs up, they really wanted to help him.
The cheerful smile on his face made them feel warm.
Only one person or it would be more accurate to call it god looked compltely unmoved, but was actually a bit surprised.
[I cant believe it actually worked, ok maybe you are not an idiot after all, we really wont need to stay here much longer]
Jhin didn’t reply he just continued his work, and helped his co-workers with theirs as well, to show his appreciation.

Life in the New World
On the Hiatus: I began writing this novel when I was, in all honesty, very bad at writing. I hope to revisit creative writing in the near future and I plan to, at some point in time, revisit this. I am flattered that many people have taken the time to read this story, but it is not what I intend to start with, as it will likely need a hard rewrite in order to correct many of the more glaring issues it has. Join our hero and follow his exciting adventure through a newly changed world! WARNING their will be violence, profanity,, and gore in this fiction. if any of these make you uncomfortable this is not a story for you turn around and walk away now!!!
