《Daydream of Gods》41 Flood: divine beauty

Oliver “so that’s what happened, what do you think ”.
After Oliver explained everything he had seen in the forest he waited for the God opinion, after all she was a god from this world, and he was her saint, so despite how he usually acted it was normal for him to fulfill her commands, If she gives him any.
Flood took a bite from the dish in front of her and made satisfied expression.
Flood [about what]
Oliver frowned “about the dude who can control beast and animals, what do you think ”
Flood shook her head [ if you are asking me what you should do with the information, I don’t know, and if you are asking me how he can control the beasts, I don’t know that either]
Oliver “what do you mean you don’t know, aren’t you a God”
Flood let out a slight sigh and took another bite.
Flood[yes and, you know I am not omnipotent or omniscient, and I am just your companion at the end of the day, so you should do what you want]
Oliver furrowed his brows.
Oliver ”So you are telling me that you have no opinion on the matter, I asked cause I am not from this world and you are one of its god while I am your saint, so shouldn’t I do what you tell me in such situation ”
Flood shook her head once again, she put her fork down and looked Oliver in the eyes, which for some reason made him fell a bit uncomfortable, as the god looked strangely serious.
Flood[I made you my saint cause that was the only way to free myself and you fulfilled your part of the pact, so what you do now is entirely up to you, I am satisfied with reading books and exploring the world, everything else is of no concern to me, so I don’t plan to give you any commands as your God]
After finishing what she wanted to say Flood once again picked the fork and started to eat.
Oliver brows furrowed even more, for some reason he really didn’t like how she frased her words, he knew that despite how Flood looked she was quite a warm pers…GOD on the inside, as to how he knew, it was simple the soul connection between them.
Flood explained a bit, but even if she hadn’t Oliver had already noticed that his emotions were being influenced since coming to this world and the change wasn’t something obvious, he still acted almost the same way he did before, but he noticed that he…cared more.
That was the main change, if it was Oliver from earth he would have killed the guy without thinking twice and then fought the beasts who would have gone on a rampage, not caring about the people in this town just for his own fun, that’s why his first instinct after seeing the man plucking the flowers was to kill him on the spot.
Actually it may sound a bit extreme, but when you don’t have time to think and act on instinct, the instinct is your decision without emotions or logic in it, it’s the most “true” way to see who you are.
If for example you got in car incident and survived excluding the obvious panic the first instinct you got it is who you are.
If your first instinct is to see how the people around you are, this is “you”.
If the first instinct is to safe the people in the opposite car, this is “you”.
But if your first instinct is rage, and wanting to harm the person who harmed you that is you as well, the purest and truest form of “you”.

And Oliver knew, he was of the third type, while Flood was the first.
So he knew that Flood, even if not on first glance, cared about the people around her, because since the pact he started to care as well.
Oliver guessed that she would have told him to inform the guards and might have even told him to help the people as well... but her answer wasn’t that, if anything it was completely the opposite.
She didn’t tell him to harm them, but told him that even if he did noting and let the dude who obviously had bad intentions go on, she would pretend not to see anything…. and he just didn’t like it.
Suddenly Oliver frown disappeared and a dispirited expressions appeared and quickly disappeared on his face before a sad smile took place on his lips.
Oliver “do you really not care what I do with the information, even if I don’t tell anyone and that might lead to this town getting destroyed and everyone here getting killed”
Flood thought a bit about [well If that is what you want to do I wont stop you but, I do might dislike that choice a bit]
Hearing it Oliver let out a bread of relieve, he had asked this question for one simple reason.
He was afraid, if his feeling of care came from the pact, then it was more that possible that his feeling of indifference might have influenced Flood as well and if that was the case he really wouldn’t have wished for that to happen.
Oliver spoke as he had made up his mind ”ok, I decided to let them know”
Flood nodded but didn’t say anything else, she just continued to enjoy her dinner.
Oliver ”by the way do you really not know about the way this dude controls the animals and what he might be aiming for in this town ”.
Flood[well, its pretty obvious that the flower is connected to the way he controls the beasts but I really cant tell anything else, its true that I read many books but they don’t contain the answers to everything, so I don’t know what exactly the way to control them is, my guess is that it is connected to the drugging effects of the flower and that since they don’t crush his head when he treats them the way you described to me, its effect must be pretty strong, as for purpose or who is behind them or if he is alone I have no idea]
Oliver tried to think about it as well, but quickly gave up, he was more of a general than a tactician.
Flood looked down as she ate her food[…sorry I couldn’t be of help]
Oliver shook his head.
Oliver ”don’t worry about it, you were sealed for quite a long while, I would have been surprised if you did know much about it, I asked mainly for your opinion on what I should do with the information since I wasn’t from this world, and you are its God, but I guess I would do what I want”
Flood nodded and proceeded to put a piece of steak in her mouth, yes both of them had ordered a steak, which was from the buffalo like animal from few days ago, it looked that after the battle the corpse had been sold and the meat had come to this restaurant since it had a contract with the town security.
Oliver shook his head, he was pretty sure that Migras had probably done it to leave positive impression on Violet, but for real this dude had no experience with women, a flower would have been better that a dead cow.

Oliver took a bite and smiled.
Oliver {anyway its delicious}
As he chew the juices of the meat were flowing from it, but it wasn’t mushi, it was cooked pretty well, it wasn’t chewy, and was a bit crispy on the outside.
Oliver had tried fantasy food since coming here but this stake was one of the better once, honestly he didn’t like fish, of vegetables too much but he liked meat, he could still eat everything none the less.
As they were having dinner the door of the restaurant opened and a green skinned young man with short hair walked in.
Oliver saw him and waved at him to come sit with them, but Migras didn’t even notice him since he seemed to be deep in thought.
He walked straight, not paying attention to anything and sat at the bar, the waitress approached him.
Violet ”whats up”
”an omlet please” Migras didn’t seem to hear her question at all, and just ordered on reflex.
Violet took the order and walked way, she had known him long enough to know that in moments like that it was best to leave him alone, since it was something serious and it was rear for her childhood friend, the captain on the city guards to find something serious.
Seeing the face of the young man Oliver knew that the squad who had been sent to check on situation had probably returned and something unusual had happened, so he stood up and walked next to Migras.
Oliver patted his shoulder to grab his attention.
Migras looked at him.
Oliver pointed to his table.
Oliver” how about eating with company tonight and I don’t know what you are so much in thought about but I think a second opinion might help”
Migras was about deny but stopped
Although Oliver didn’t look the serious type his skill was the real deal and he had hunt a Washer and was standing here, so that did count for something, whats more Migras really didn’t know what to do, so a new set of eyes might be helpful.
Migras nodded.
He stood up to walk to where Oliver pointed and turned to look at him after throwing a quick glance at the table.
But before he could completely turn his head, his gaze turned back and froze at the girl sitting on the table.
The medium-high girl with curly blue hair, like waves falling down to her waist, face as clean as water and eyes so blue they looked like the whole sea was drained inside of them.
She was sitting on the wooden chair creating a beautiful picture, even while she was happily enjoying a stake and having meat juices on her lips if an artist saw her he would probably be unable to move his gaze.
If a writer saw her, he would recite poems for her, if a musician saw he would sing songs for her, if a sculpture saw her he would cry on the ground for being unable to make such beauty.
And if a painter saw her currently, smiling while eating, with a smile beautiful like sunrise on a quite blue ocean, he would probably paint without eating or drinking anything, trying to capture such scene to perfection.
Migras was clear who he had feelings for and for who he didn’t, but just for a second, he thought that maybe, if this girl gave him a chance he was willing to finally give up on his ten year old love for Violet without a second thought.
That was how stunning Flood was, Migras was no artist, if anything he was a brutish warrior who was almost constantly covered in sweat from training or in dirt from fighting, but if he had to describe her with one word, it would be divine that was the only word which he thought could give her justice.
He started to wonder if she would accept to go out with him.
“slap”
Migras slapped himself.
He tried to remind himself {Migras stay strong, you are not a whore, your hearth belongs to Violet, the girl before you might be beautiful, with watery blue eyes, and wave like blue hair, which gives a feeling of comfort, damn how can hew eyes look like the whole sea is hiding in them and they engulf you in warmness ….}
“SLAP”
Migras slapped himself even harder.
Spectating all this Oliver was holding his stomach laughing holding back from rolling on the ground, Migras slapping himself in the face while looking at Flood with a dum expression looked extremely funny.
He continued to laugh for a few minutes before finally calming down.
Wiping the tears in his eyes Oliver patted Migras, who slapped himself four times in a row.
Oliver”you know what, on second thought lets talk here”
While saying this Oliver threw a quick glance at Violet, actually there was a sure fire way to tell how a girl feels about you if you know her well enough, what it was, simple, just show her that you have infatuation with another girl and look how she reacts.
Seeing the displeased look on Violet, Oliver patted Migras shoulder a bit harder, he might have a bigger chance than expected.
Honestly the situation of these “kids” was quite funny, the boy liked the girl, and girl had feelings for the boy, but since the boy was drowning the girl in constant attention, she didn’t know her feelings well and misunderstood them, Oliver didn’t know it for sure but suspected that was the case.
The reason was simple, Violet looked normal, at first he thought she had no feeling for Migras in that direction, but no normal person would be able to drown in the attention of someone, whether a child hood friend or not for so long, if he/she didn’t feel anything back, her being nice and not telling him straight was just her way of not cutting the option completely, cause Violet was strong girl she would be able to tell him “ fuck off “, if she wanted to do so, but she didn’t.
Oliver decided to throw a helping hand to Migras, tomorrow when he goes out with Violet he decided not to have relationship with her, if he didn’t know the situations he would have acted differently and probably even have spend the night with her, but since he does he would just spent an afternoon with her and that would be it.
Oliver had a simple rule about his relationships, having fun is ok, but having something serious is not, he is someone who likes dangerous situations and is more than clear on the fact that the bell could roll for him at any time and it would be noting strange, he had long decided that if he sees a girl looking for fun he would agree, but if he sees a girl looking for love or in love he would not interact with her.
At first he had thought that Violet was the first, but now after more observation she was probably the second.
Oliver looked once again at Migras who was starting to look like a creep, and shook his head.
This guy lacks a lot of experience, if he wants to look at girls he should do like the rest of the men in this place, take quick glance every now and then but don’t stare, its rude and creepy.
But well he couldn’t blame him much either, that was just how Flood was.
Unknown to Migrass, he had just ensured that another man would stay away from Violet, which if the girl had known she would have thrown the knifes in the kitchen at him, making her dry streak longer than the one of many guys.
Oliver wrapped his hand around Migras and pushed him down making him sit once again on the chair.
Oliver said mockingly ”hey, hey if you continue to look at my companion so much I might misunderstand your intentions, didn’t you say that you have eyes only for Violet, are your feelings so shallow to stare at every beauty you see, I seriously didn’t take you for such a man”
Migras quickly turned his head forward like he was hit by a bat and stopped looking at Flood, his cheecks which should be green looked red like a tomato.
Migras quickly shook his head trying to explain like he had just been caught cheating on a test.
Migrass”no no no no, its not that, its just..its just...”
He quickly opened his mouth and closed it repeatedly, trying to come up with something but soon after being unable to think of anything he just lowered his head like he was found guilty in court.
He soon felt the hand of Oliver patting his shoulder.
Oliver had a slight smile on his face ’don’t worry about it, I am just joking, I don’t blame you, Violet woul….. migh…..will unders.. you better explain yourself to her later, but do remember, dont drown her with feelings ”
Migras nodded
Oliver nodded as well, he knew that he couldn’t blame Migras, that was natural reaction of any male and looking how more and more girls were starting to turn their heads female as well.
He should remind Flood to keep her divinity in check later, it was probably because she was enjoying her stake too much and forgot to suppress it and even increased it instead.
Oliver”so what were you thinking about”
Migras regained his compose after not looking at Flood.
Migras”the investigation group returned”
Oliver”and, are most of them dead”
Migrass shook his head.
Migras”no, that would have made more sense, it the opposite, they are completely fine, the group which usually would have been attacked at least a few times, that went to investigate the increase of the beasts didn’t encounter any, not a single one”
Oliver nodded , he thought back on the punchable looking dude and shook his head, this dude was really an idiot.
