《Legacy of Earth》Chapter 9 – Sunrise on Venus

“Following our rendezvous with the Codename Neith, both the Memento Mori and the Wild Hunt of Venus have begun to cooperate due to a share of common interest.” Alon said sitting atop a hill watching the Venusian Sunrise while holding an Audio Recorder.
He decided that since this is a long term occupation he had decided to grab an Audio Recorder for him to record and narrate his life in the Memento Mori, this was his seventh entry as he only records important or eventful entries to save memory.
“And during our operations with the Wild Hunt we were able to recover many vital things that will benefit Operations in the long run such as the acquisition of many Mechs and a temporary base of Operations located within the Chrystia Forest,” He continued looking around their new base of operations.
The Chrystia Forest originally known as the Chrystia Institute of Botanical Sciences were the first of the many buildings constructed during the early colonization of Venus. It was here they tested the wonders of Terra-Forming letting the plants here grow without control earning the current name of Chrystia Forest.
As such the location is a massive botanical garden that allowed the plants to grow so massively that they grew out of the designated zones where they were only allowed to grow. Various plant and fauna filled the place with various vines have began to crawl up the walls but more notably the pillars that line up the skylight allowing the sunlight to pour over all of them not only as a source of Solar Energy and but for also the plants to be exposed with proper sunlight.
“You should see that place at night,” Alon continued as he let out a sigh as the sunrise finally began to peer on where he sat down, beside him Marina was quietly sleeping next to his bedroll that morning as they requested to sleep under the stars to watch the night sky of Venus.
“It was beautiful, the power had permanently went down but at night certain fauna would light up and forming this night time decoration around the place, and then certain bio-luminescent Ancients would fly around and dance in the light.” Alon smiled remembering that night as he and Marina snuck out to enjoy the night as a way of resting after such an operation.
“Even though the galaxy has yet to recover from it all, I can’t help but wonder the beauty that each world contains from the remains of the old galaxy has had.” He felt his face warm up from what he is about to say and looked at Marina who was still asleep and swallowed a lump in his throat from what he will say next may leave him under scrutiny.
“I hope, to see a future where I’ll be able to explore the galaxy with my step-sister.” He whispered in a low voice to make sure that Marina doesn’t hear any of it. He finally ended the recording and turned towards Marina fast asleep, he chuckled and have her a teasing poke on the cheek.

“Hey…I’ve been up all night studying the Zio for future incidents.” She said weakly but annoyed, it was always his go to method to wake her up and she always found it annoying.
“What else do you think I was doing last night?” Alon responded with a teasing flick on the forehead who just gave him a glare. Before heading off for bed, he had spent hours in the Simulation with Dain and Tsuna running various drills once again so that he can better adapt within combat on a specific gravity.
And the Simulations towards Combat on Venus are very different compared to the Combat on Mars, something that neither he or Marina were prepared the moment they set foot on the gravity.
“But we still have stuff to do.” Alon said getting up as she let out an adorable groan and got up scratching her eyes who gave him an irked glare.
“Whatever killjoy,” She stood up and headed off as soon as she was gone he pulled out the recorder again and a small tablet containing a proposed design. It was something he had drafted recently in his spare time of an idea, something that could help them in combat should they move on the run again as prior to their arrival on Venus.
[Weapon Proposal: ‘TH0-R Thor’]
[By: Alon Akunawa]
[The TH0-R Thor is a Transformable Auxillary Support Unit that equipped with any of the available Mechs within the inventory of the Memento Mori (SSK-04 Ronin, Z-13 Zio and so on) would be able for independent transport and support for the Mechs present.
As Support unit TH0-R is able to combine with any of the Mechs giving it access to an arsenal of the Twin Gun-Blades that utilize both a Kinetic Blade and Beam Gun that would be mounted on the arms, two sets of six tube missile pods. Therefore increasing it’s offensive power and mobility thanks to the multiple thrusters that came with it.
However, the TH0-R can also operate as an Independent Fighter by folding in the center allowing the pilot to fly around the using the aforementioned weapons provided. And the TH0-R can also launched attached with any Mech should it lands back into the Hangar combined with it.]
It wasn’t much, just a concept idea that Alon had planned through as he isn’t familiar yet with the design of this support unit so that he is able to be on the battlefield even not on a mech. And while he is unable pilot a Fighter just yet but he can learn from Henri the ropes in trying to control one eventually.
It was the least he could have done as a Pilot and Operator of the Team.
[Legacy of Earth]
"This is actually a Good idea," Wu said as he looked through the proposed schematics that Alon had shown him as he and a Wild Hunt Mechanic discuss it as they were talking plans in an abandoned laboratory wing within the Forest.

"I can't exactly provide the resources for an Auxiliary unit but I can make an independent fighter that I can later upgrade into one if you're fine with that." The Wild Hunt Mechanic responded Alon tried his best to his disappointment but it is the truth they had just recently acquired a base of operations and funding through the Wild Hunt executives.
“Don’t worry Naga, once we managed to consolidate our resources we’ll be able to develop the TH0-R, this is honestly a good concept that hasn’t been touched since the age of Terra.” Wu told him as he set aside and showed him some historical documents of various other Mech with a support unit that came with it.
“That reminds me,” Wu continued as his eyebrows raised as if he had gotten a realization at the time. “Fenrir and Suzaku told me that they need you to meet up with Ars again for the next operation.”
“Alright thanks for hearing me out,” Alon excused himself as he sprinted to the
Alon was about to respond but he heard Tsuna and Dain call him, it was clearly for their next operation. This caused Alon to excuse himself and made his way towards a map of a nearby region where they were discussing with Ars.
"How many are we expecting?" Tsuna asked as they were zooming in a mining site with a Sovereign Carrier flying above it as though they intend to make contact with Sisters on the ground below.
"Expect twice the amount and some reinforcements and since we'll be facing those Orthuses again this could get dicey," Ars said zooming in one of the side showing that the ship had the logo of the Orthos on the side. Alon swallowed hard, he got lucky with being able to take out at least two but there's a high chance they're not taking it seriously at the time.
"Not to mention the Sisters," Alon commented, they were already a frightening group to face but even more so on Mechs.
“And that’s where we get to this little upgrade, you know how the Zio is basically a test bed Mech? Check out it’s upgraded form.” Ars said pulling out a battered Data Cylinder and plugged it on a terminal showing what is essentially the Zio but with more armor plating on certain parts namely on the upper arms and thighs, something that the Zio lacked, as well as they are equipped with an extra set of thrusters for mobility. Additionally they are armed with a pair of beam sabers mounted on the forearms and the feet implying that they are both agile and melee oriented.
“Looks like they’ll be fun to have around,” Tsuna said sarcastically. “That also explains why the Zio is flexible in terms of mobility.” Alon observed. “Which is why you will be piloting it again.”
“What?”
Alon looked at Ars, Dain and Tsuna who all gave him expecting looks at him. It was clear that they weren’t joking, they do expect him to pilot it again just as before.
“Well considering you’re the one with a Gestalt Adapter this means that you’re the only person who is only capable of piloting it as both of us lack the knowledge in using it again.” Dain explained pressing a few buttons and then revealed a battle plan.
“Alright here’s the—”
The Scenery changed to reveal a Wild Hunt Operator named Artesia who was currently fighting in her Kataphract.
“It’s an ambush!”
Her image flickered as though the current signal is being interrupted preventing her from sending a message.
“We’ve been compromised and we a large unit of Sovereign Mechs are coming your way.” Artesia said the line had been cut, this immediately caused the four of them to sprint towards various Mechs, Alon made his way towards the Zio as expected, Tsuna and Dain hurried into the now modified Ronins who were fitted with the same weapons of the Zio had which was a heavy kinetic rifle but also a pair of beam sabers and additional armor plating previously vulnerable parts a major upgrade compared to the one before.
“Back-up plan?” Alon asked through the communications.
“Defend the place as much as we can and hopefully repel them so we can rescue the away team.” Ars responded as he began spreading orders as the base went on full alert as many others climbed into various mechs as they prepared for battle.
“Fenrir, Suzaku and I will cover the North East and South but Naga I need you to cover all four corners of the base, as the Zio has the fuel capacity for high mobility.” Ars ordered as Alon immediately connected his Gestalt Adapter into the Mech.
“Got it, I’ll try not to drain the fuel just in case. Anything else to note about their suits?” Alon said starting up the machine, and upon activation proximity alarms were blaring and from afar he can already see they were already coming for them.
“They’re called the Z-13s, they’re expensive so turn them into scrap.” Alon smiled, as tightened his grip on the controls and he unleashed the full blast on the thrusters and flew up prepared to do just that against them.
