《Honest Way of Living》Being Kind

Asfa took the free lunch box to his personal room since it is pointless anyway to eat at the cafeteria without a friend. On his way there, Asfa saw some of the new students practicing at the PE facilities. He realized that the new students are allowed to register tomorrow and the day after tomorrow. Only the new instructor has to register today.
"Am I the only new PE instructor hired?"
Asfa only knows two people here which are Lawrence and Kimberly but he doesn't know how to contact them and he doesn't even what to do that too.
"The free meal is fine. In fact, this is so much better than what I could possibly make!"
Asfa clean his room a little bit and pack all of his stuff to go back but he should visit the library first. The library is located quite far away from the stadium but it is in the center of most facilities here. After minutes of walking, he finally sees the library, and yes Asfa is mentally prepared for this.
"I knew it. The library is bigger than the stadium.."
Asfa got through the front door of the library with his key card and surprisingly there is still no one here. "Is everything handled by the AI ?"
Asfa continues walking to the smaller door inside, he finally found the rules of the library. It was written neatly on the wall in front of him. After reading all the rules there, Asfa can only borrow 3 low-tier books and 1 high-tier book per week. He doesn't think much about it yet since he hasn't seen any book from the moment he entered the library. "This place is so huge.. Why there is no directory here??"
After going through 3 doors he finally arrived in a large room with huge bookshelves. Asfa took an hour to conclude that almost everything can be found here and all the books here are written by pros. The temperature and the humidity of the air in this place are also regulated by AI. Asfa wanted to look for any book related to special ability or enhanced humans but then he just don't know how to do it. So he left the library as soon as possible since he need to catch a train before 7 pm. It is indeed safe here in the Capital but the moment he went outside he had to be extra careful, especially at night.

While walking to the train station, Asfa made a stop at the supermarket there to get something for breakfast tomorrow. As he is about the supermarket, he sees 3 bulky guys chasing in the back alley of the supermarket. Asfa wanted to help, but he realized that the chasing scene just now was too inhuman. All of them running were running so fast for a normal and this included the girl being chased.
"I will just follow them quietly and decide later"
Asfa grabbed his face mask to cover his face so that he can't be tracked if things went south. He follows them for a few minutes and suddenly they stopped because it is the end, the road got blocked by a steel gate between two buildings. Asfa quietly goes near them.
"We need to catch her now, we got 5 minutes until her personal bodyguard comes! Not to mention I feel like we are being followed just now"
Asfa : He's definitely the boss or someone in charge there. I guess he is the brain of the team while the other two guards are just the brawn.
The moment the boss commanded them to the girl, those two brawns jumped toward the girl. Surprisingly both of them are very fast, especially with their bulky physique. The girl kicked one of the brawn's face but the other one punches the girl's head. The girl blocked the punch with his slender arm and got pushed to the steel gate behind her.
"The girl definitely an elite! She seems calm in this tight situation. She must have been trained to handle this kind of situation. But she's just too young.. I need to help her soon or else she will get hurt"
Brawn : Hahahaha so what if you can fight! Your hand is injured now and you already gotten tired from the chasing. I'm gonna break your leg so don't cry later

The girl looks unfazed.
Girl : You guys won't get away with this, so what if I'm injured. I just need to hold this for a few minutes.
Bad Captain : Hohoho , funny girl. I guess it is time to get serious. Let's see if you can handle this.
The captain throws his strange-shaped-looking knife toward her, it flies very quickly toward the girl's leg.
Asfa : Force Push!
The flies got pushed to the side and got stuck on the wall of the building.
Asfa quickly moves toward the brawn and hit his neck from behind. The brawn collapsed immediately.
Captain : Who are you? Do you want to die too? To think that a commoner dares to fight against the Red Scythe. We must have gone soft. Let's see if you can block these with your weird technique.
The captain opens his bag and 5 strange-shaped knives float above him. Asfa realized the strange-shaped knife is actually a high-tech knife that can be controlled by the captain.
Asfa : Damn, I shouldn't have help...
Asfa look at the girl behind him, she looks calm.
Seconds after that, the knives flew toward Asfa.
Asfa : Force Bind!
Asfa uses all of his mental energy, to stop those knives and the knives floating in front of Asfa before falling to the ground.
Captain : I see, you must be one of those lab rats tested for the superhuman project. Be careful boy, we might be coming for you after this.
Asfa : Thrust it!
Suddenly a knife stabbed into the heart of the captain. Asfa has been controlling the knife that is stuck on the wall to hurt the captain. He wasn't really want to kill that guy, it was just that he felt like he should or else it will become unrepairable.
Asfa : Damn it, it sucks.. Even without touching the knife, I can still feel something when it stabbed the heart.
Asfa looks at the girl and slowly walks the main road. He is done with this. To stop those knives are harder than he thought. He feels so tired right now.
Girl : Hmm, thank you for helping. I don't know who you are but I promise I will repay this! I am Olivia Lan..
Asfa : Your welcome. I did this because I can't afford to see people being bullied. You can repay this by not telling anyone.
Asfa walks as quickly as he can toward the train station. He changed his shirt to make sure he was not being followed. He took the train immediately toward Town A to get back to his apartment as quickly as he can.
After 30 minutes, the train arrived at Town A and Asfa went to change his cloth again. He waited for 10 minutes circling around the area before going to his apartment.
"Being weak sucks, luckily there were only 3 of them and they are dumb as hell. I need to practice harder!"
How I wish I can have a weapon to use with my ability. He could have taken the homing knife earlier but then being hunted by an evil organization stopped him. He might even be chased by the government.
"I need money...."

To the other, is a federation of alien races known as the Senate. Mankind rejoiced the knowledge that they were not the only life in a cold dark galaxy. But as first contact was made, ET's who transited into the Warp seemed to disappear without a trace, technologies traded with the other races malfunctioned or refused to work entirely, and simple translation errors led to grave misunderstandings. Delicate as Glass
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Nuri, an [Assistant Glassworker], only has a single Skill. It’s really not fair. He’s worked in the hot shop his entire life, following in his father’s footsteps after his parents passed away, but he’s stuck. Despite possessing above-average talent as an artisan, he still hasn’t shed his [Assistant] status, gained a second Skill, or even leveled enough to reach the first Threshold. Besides, he’s bored; most days he daydreams of adventure and becoming a hero, or pines for the renown that’s sure to be his if he evolves his Class into a [Master Glass Smith], but nothing ever changes—until suddenly, fate strikes, and nothing is ever the same again. These days, Nuri sees more magic, prestige, and adventure than he can handle as he gets swept up in realm-shaking conspiracies and desperate fights for his life. Maybe a boring life wasn’t so bad after all. Disclaimers: 1) Names were mostly chosen through random generators and aren’t necessarily final. If they seem derivative or boring, blame RNG. 2) Skills, Classes, levels, and the entire system is currently a work in progress; please be kind if it’s not very well fleshed out yet. 3) This is the first full-length novel I've set out to write without a single plot point ready. I had nothing in mind other than a recent visit to a hot shop. Molten glass is pretty awesome. 4) Related, I know much less about glass than I’d like. I did some research, but mistakes are bound to happen. If you have a correction, thanks! Please be polite about it. 5) The prose is my experimental attempt at first-person, present tense. I realize it may not be everyone’s preference, but I hope you’ll give it a try anyway!
