《HEIR OF LIGHT》CHAPTER 14

JASON
jason stared at the goddess of the moon who just beat the crap out of him in less than a minute, unsurprising seeing as she’s. She definitely looked intimidating, I shifted on the rock I sat,
"Is it true you fought derora?" She asked,
"If you mean a dark-haired lady with glowing red eyes and a very dark aura then yes" he replied,
She chuckled and stood up, her flowing blue attire floating in the breeze,
"What did the almighty illummino tell you?" She said with a note of frustration,
"That I'm supposed to free Aratia from herega and her disciple"
"Did he explain how this is all connected?" She pressed on,
"No, what's connected?" he replied,
"It's not my place to talk, perhaps when you meet that riffraff aether, he'll explain" she said,
She definitely had anger issues and what seems like a grudge towards aether, jason observed her as she moved closer,
"I only came to warn you, the elixtus’ fell for a reason" she said,
"What reason?" he asked,
"At the early days of Aratia, after illummino chose the mortal but brave family of elixtu and gave them a pinch of godly essence, he made them rulers of Aratia" she started,
"And then the deity of chaos dradror opposed order, he wanted this world back in its original place, in chaos, illummino couldn't interfere, he had created order and had moved, it was dradrors’ turn, dradror created the abyss"
"The pit" jason muttered as she nodded,
"He was determined to cause enough havoc for him to access aratia" she said,
"What do you mean access aratia"
"Aratia was under the influence of illummino and there was order, not chaos, for this reason he had no footholds, haven't you wondered why illummino hasn't appeared?" She said,
To think of it, she was saying the truth, illummino hadn't appeared since jason got into Aratia,
"How come you gods and goddesses can appear?" he asked,
He always assumed the deities where to be heard and not to be seen, at least if you were to go by the general beliefs back on earth, it seemed here the rules were inverse,
"We were spun into existence with Aratia, we represent every aspect of Aratia, I for instance am the personification of the moon, loathem as you've met is the embodiment of the soil and forests" she said,
"Illummino represents order generally and can't reside where there's no peace, he hangs in the celestial realms and I quote "watches with crossed fingers" at this she said,
"So how come dradror isn't wrecking havoc and herega is?" jason asked puzzled,
"I was getting to that!" She shouted,
Jason nodded and kept quiet, he noted to himself to add mood swings to her list,
"Now, as I was saying, he couldn't interfere and used the pit to create dark creatures, they in turn could enter Aratia and cause havoc, but they were not enough, soon it dawned on him that he would need a better way. Then he created the three arms of himself" she said,

"I don't get" jason said,
She sighed in boredom and looked at him, a scowl on her face,
"He divided himself into three parts and left his consciousness as the void out of them, the first was a lesser dradror, the second was the dark Phoenix and the third was herega" she said,
"In that way he could gain access without the bother of illuminos’ order" he finished,
She smiled and stared at him quizzically,
"Maybe you're not as dumb as I thought you to be" she said as jason scrunched up his face,
"Anyways, illummino quickly knew of this and informed the elixtus, the realm was in danger and they couldn't do it Alone, they needed help and so the alliance of the five was born" she said,
"Never heard of that" jason replied,
"Of course, you wouldn't, illummino doesn't count it as something and that rascal aether's just the same" she said angrily,
"Wow, she really has something against aether " he thought, but he was pretty fine staying away from whatever issue the deities had between themselves,
"The alliance was the only way they could push back the arms of dradror, they consisted of the Rajul elixtu the king, fetoria rectir the mage, turnul tejel the shape shifter and guardian of the king, lutia farang the Queen of the Loup-de-sang, and ikris horak, assassin and shadow protector to the throne" She completed,
jason stared at her,
"Any of those names ring a bell ikir" she said,
he kept quiet and looked down, in a fit of rage jason just threw away two of a long-time family bond,
"Yes ikir, the two friends you had that your stupidity cost you are a part of an alliance so old only the deities themselves remember their names" she said,
"But, why didn't illummino tell me all this?" he asked,
"Mainly because he didn't count it as something, lastly because he trusts wholly in you" she said,
Jason laughed painfully,
*and see what a great leader I am"
"The one problem the elixtu blood has was the problem of guilt" she said as he looked at her face,
"You think you're responsible for every action that is connected to you, have you ever thought of fate?, destiny?" She said her facial structures softening, and once again it went rigid,
"That's by the way, I was actually here to introduce you to the Loup that would join your group," she said,
"I have been appearing to her for a while now and she's an outcast, not valued among her pack, its not my story to say, perhaps when you meet, she would be obliged to tell you” she said checking the moons position,
Something clicked in jasons’ head about the word pack, but he couldn't pin point it, he would have to ask her,
"She should be arriving here any minute and oh, you'll have to fight her pack members, they want her dead" she said,
jason turned to her, startled as she smiled, that's when he heard a series of howl break into the sky night,

"That's my cue to leave, I'm just a goddess they serve, they haven't seen me in years and I'll love to keep it that way, plus I do my best to stay out of their politics" she said as jason heard the thundering of paws rolling down the mountain top,
"And Loup-de-sang means werewolf where you came from" she said as she disappeared,
jason cursed silently as he held my blades tighter, frankly he doubted anything would faze him at this point, in hindsight he should had realized that any magical world would have the usual assortment which entailed creatures such as vampires and werewolves.
A big wolff, no scratch that, a gigantic wolf jumped out into the clearing, it ran towards jason and stopped in front panting and turned its back to him, growling into the distance at the pack of wolves as big as its size were hot at its heels, jason immediately accepted this particular werewolf was not hostile, no wolf turned its back to an enemy, which meant this was the particular Loup perilia was talking about.
It glanced at him, eyes wide with injuries all over its bleeding body, eyes showing it was literary scared to the core, its face was staring into his at height level, it whined and nudged jason, its blue eyes seemed to nudge jason to move, jason nodded at it, or her rather as for some reason the creature felt feminine to him, one of these days he would have to take a step back and let his mind absorb all these crazy things that.
Then wolves poured out of the trees, as big as her, only fiercer, they had yellow eyes and very sharp canines, they slowed down and growled, like they were awaiting someone, and a bigger wolf came out of their midst, he had red eyes and a very dark coat,
Great!, their leader or was it alpha? jason thought,
In a flash he became man, his features seemed sculpted, his face straight and hard,
"I'm sure you know who we are, we don't know why she ran to you but she committed a serious crime in my pack and needs to be punished" he said,
The wolf growled at his side and jason stared at the alpha, his pack members were ready to pounce at the snap of a finger,
"Thanks perila, one heck of a job here!" jason grumbled internally, he could swear he heard a giggle waft through the air,
"I am charged with her protection, and I will protect her"
"By who if I might ask?" He replied,
"By perilia, your goddess" I said,
He snarled with laughter and a grunt from the wolves made me guess they were to in their way,
" I'm sure you are mistaken, no one has seen her in over a century, and won't she appear to us first?, are we not her people?" He said,
"Have you seen this?" jason said as he pointed his blade at him,
The wolves moved back with a whine, his eyes narrowed angrily, growling with distaste and a tinge of fear,
"Who are you?" He asked,
"That's none of your business, all I want is the girl" jason replied,
Apparently they knew the significance of the blade, jason really hoped it would keep them at bay, he was not sure he could take on a whole pack of angry looking giant dogs,
"I'm sorry stranger, but she comes with us, regardless of whoever you may be to carry the blades of illumino, assuming that is in fact the blades of illumino and not some sorcerer disguising" he said as two wolves charged at us,
"I hope you can fight" jason said and got a grunt in reply, he took that as a yes,
Jason moved quickly, they were slow, not human slow but slow enough to use the butt of his blades to take them out, the alpha stared in shock and snarled as they attacked, he chuckled to himself, sorcerer his ass.
He moved through them like a blur, taking them out in their numbers, a jab there, a slash there, incapacitating and not killing them, at least not yet till he understood fully what was going on, it was like the whole village was out and jason had to find the alpha. soon enough he saw him running for jason, he was fast, but not enough, he pointed his blade and shot a bolt of energy at him, he dodged it and fell for the kick jason gave to the head, he fell and rolled to a tree while changing back to human form, jason held him and pressed his blade to alphas’ throat,
"Call your pack off" he said,
"You wouldn't dare" the alpha snarled,
"Try me" jason said as he pushed the blade closer to snarling alphas throat and watched it burn his skin,
He whistled in pain as the wolves turned from the girl they were circling, what remained actually, seemed like the girl could hold her own for a while, judging by the bodies that lay at her feet, throat torn out, jason raised an eyebrow at that. They growled and moved closer to jason, the alpha snarled and they stopped, jason nodded to himself, glad they understood the situation on ground.
Jason saw the girl limping towards his side, bleeding from her hind leg, his gaze darkened a bit, he turned to the alpha and pushed him to his pack,
"You should be happy I'm not in the mood to kill, leave now" jason said,
"What makes you think I can't take you?!" He said,
jason smiled and pointed to his pack,
"With what pack?"
He turned and saw not up to fifteen wolves standing, the rest were sprawled on the floor, he snarled and moved back,
"This isn't the last" he snarled and left with the rest,
jason smiled and turned to the wolf, she had passed out,
Oh dear. he thought,

Ars Magica
Our vision comes back into focus. Our eyes, while being able to perceive the immediate surroundings, still leave us with our minds uncomprehending towards what is actually occurring. Sure, there are definitive things that we can focus on, like the fact that we're either out upon the open sea or the open ocean, there not being much of a difference with no land in sight, as well as the fact that we appear to be upon a haphazardly constructed metal boat, whose seams are barely able to keep a hold of themselves in the crashing waves. However, that does not let us understand what exactly is causing the waves in the first place. If we were to rewind time, we'd find ourselves upon a calm sea under a peaceful sky with the only difference, being a small whirlpool that would be the precursor towards this uproar around the boat. Lightning flashes in the sky, with no clouds being near, and anyone actually manning the boat has either died towards the cause of the smashing tides in the first place, or are fighting amongst the flashes of lightning, all while trying not to become devoured, demolished, and utterly decimated by the beast roiling in the whirling waves. To better understand exactly what is happening here, there is one singular event that needs to be understood, that needs to be explained, and that is the arrival of a creature named Dave. Stepping back from current events and going towards this creature's first appearance in the world, we begin to hear the sound of water slowly dripping across rocky ground. The cavern is utterly silent except for this one constant, its cause feeding channels downwards, sloping towards cracks in the rubble along the floor from broken stalagmites and stalactites. And there, lying on top of something which had fallen over recently, judging from its cracks, is a person, the creature named Dave. His form is fast asleep, either from the impact or from an intoxication, judging from the smell upon its breath. A bright light suffuses into it for a second, giving life towards the pale skin, before it slowly dies down back to the comfortable black of the cave that it's within. Before this moment in time, Dave did not exist in the physical world. At least, not in the reality that he finds himself born into. We do not know whether or not his existence is simply a cosmic joke, or something that is being played out on purpose. All that we do know, is that one moment, the body was not in the cave, and simply formed in the next. The actual earliest time that we know Dave exists, is the interpolation of the memories of J-209, which we'll begin looking into shortly to gain context towards the coming narrative that is being written and hastily trying to keep itself written. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Warning: This story has several things which might turn its readers away. The first is that this story has shifting points of perspective. Don't worry about that previous sentence too much though, as the main character will always have a first person perspective associated with them. However, any other character from which we're viewing the story from will either be in third-person, as we are not necessarily in their shoes at the moment, or in first person, given that the narrator is an actual physical presence within the story. For the most part, chapters will be self-contained with their perspectives, so there will not be an abundance of switching perspectives within the same chapter. The most that an average reader would have to worry about is the fact that perspectives can switch between chapters. The second thing is that the main character is a bit on the 'special' side of things. He's not exactly mentally there most of the time, so there will be some times that his personality or his thoughts do not actively align with his actions. The third, and final thing of importance, is the fact that past the first couple of chapters, nothing has been planned in advance. There are arcs and plots that I want to do, want to implement, or have already been set into motion from our main character's introduction to the world, but the method that I use for my story writing and generating leads towards a bit more random chance being enabled. Basically...there's a lot of dice rolling behind the scenes. To not complicate the story further than its regular LitRPG elements, the rolls will not be publicly available. However, there will be knowledge within the author's notes on whether or not there were positive or negative critical rolls that had occurred within the chapter. You have been warned. Updates: Mondays & Fridays (Schedule permitting) Typical Chapter Length: (2,000-3,000)

Monstrous Path
This story is both dark and lighthearted, it will have a lot of deaths and gore scenes but not just for the sake of being edgy or something like that. Every being comes from someone’s life — a womb, an egg, the world, a God, and from itself. Then what about me? I came from a container, so what does that make me? Am I still a being? “I do not know — I want to understand — why?” This was my driving force to live when I opened my eyes, I had no need for food, I only needed to satiate my curiosity. But as I learned early on, life was not as simple as it seemed. Note: The Characters in this world would always have a reason for living, and the world moves not just because of the MC. This would also have a lot of tearjerking scenes (or so I would hope) Culture, Race, Government, and Language can and will be different and though some Races like Elves and Dwarves are present, please do not think that they are the same as every other.
