《Enigma Of The Void》Unknown Competition

The storm had already grown to a size that can cover an entire village. It has destroyed almost all the trees in the surrounding, as Zin was reaching for the aetheric weapon.
'It's working! I just need to stir the mana in the void to push it toward me!'
The moment the two knife-like weapons were in his reach, Zin immediately clutched them tightly like his life was on the line. Nothing happened for a moment, but when Zin pulled them out the void in front of him collapsed.
BOOOOM!
A huge explosion rang out and Zin was thrown out of the forest leaving behind a huge crater. Zin was now in a very vulnerable state as he was unconscious, as he held the two knife-like weapons, which seems to actually be daggers.
The two daggers are pitch black with faint purple lines on them. This aetheric weapon was radiating a glow that covered Zin's whole body from the surrounding. It's like the weapon was alive, and had already claimed Zin as its owner.

The storm had dissipated leaving behind a destructive scene, tree branches were everywhere, many small craters left, and corpses from the animals that didn't escape in time.
Many people could be seen going toward the middle of the biggest crater. But when they got there, only ripped clothes could be seen. One could say that Zin getting blasted out of the forest, and leaving him half dead, had actually saved him instead.
"Seems like the one that triggered the phenomenon is dead already. No kid can survive such an explosion. Only ones that are at the white soul stage and above can endure this blast."
The one that said this was Sophie as she analyze the size of the crater. She firmly believed that no one below the white soul stage can survive this. ( Stages will be explained in the later chapters )
"Your right, it's such a pity that a young talent had to die so soon." Lucas took the opportunity and praised her, but she didn't even mind looking at him, leaving Lucas very disheartened. "Hey, Sophie what do you think we should do next?" He said with a gentle tone, still trying to get on her good grace.
"Lucas, I know that you're a big fanboy, but don't you know that she doesn't like it at all?" Hearing how Lucas sucks up to Sophie, always irritates Amelia since she has no one like that around her. Even if it was annoying, Amelia would definitely feel better if there was someone like Lucas around her.
"You two can stay here and talk, I'm leaving." As Sophie took off and headed toward the city leaving the two behind. Lucas soon followed her, with Amelia trailing behind shouting out loud that she wants another duel. To her, each duel will help her improve, even if she doesn't win.

"Humph. Youngsters these days have no respect for their elders. Came here without greetings us, then leave, doing whatever they like." The elder that said this has dark brown hair that flows down to his shoulder. He stares at the 3 leaves with his dark green eyes.
"Hahaha. Ren, don't take it to heart, they are young, so their impulsiveness is reasonable." It was the old man with a long white beard from earlier. From the way, he talked it was like they were good old friends.
"Silver, you've always been like this ignorant to others except for your only disciple." Ren had always been a serious person, so it was hard for the others to believe that he was friends with the easy-going Silver. But, now seeing it in person they all believed the rumors.
"Hahaha. Ren, being so serious all the time will make your skill go unpolished. Just like how you were when we attended the academy. You've never won against me once."
Hearing this many people realized how great Silver was, since he never showed himself much, they have very little information about him. What was even more surprising was that Ren was one of the grand elders of the Human domain! After realizing this crucial information, many started to suck up to them, trying to get them to accept their child as disciples.
"Quit it. I will only accept two disciples in my lifetime." Ren was intrigued when he heard this. 'Seems like this old fart already has someone in mind. Don't you worry Silver since I've never won against you before, but I'll let my disciple do it in my stead.' After, knowing that Ren can finally get his revenge on Silver, he quickly left to train his disciple to ensure his plan.
"Oi! Why are you flying away so fast like your wife is about to conceive?! Oh, wait! I forgot you're still single till now." Silver laughed, as the other was growing suspicious about how he claimed that he had beaten a grand elder before. Even if it was in the past, it would still be a hard feat.
If Ren heard this he would've tried to kill Silver. Luckily, Ren had already arrived in front of the castle, since Silver would've definitely toyed with him around if he tries to fight him.
The crowd quickly dispersed at the sight of clothes remnants. Most of the ones that came here, were hoping that they could snatch away a future genius. To their disappointment, the child that triggered the phenomenon was already dead in their eyes.
Silver eyes turned serious the moment it laid on the remnants. He quickly came over and inspected the explosion that blasted Zin out of the forest. 'This isn't the work of a phenomenon, but rather of mana collision.' This occurred when Zin tries to utilize the mana from the air to move the dagger that was in the void.

"This kid isn't bad, to be able to trigger a phenomenon, and also a mana collision. That means that the kid has already awakened." Silver mused as he thought of the little monster that he's gonna train soon.
'Seems like he got affected by the mana collision, hence the clothes remnants. Well well, let's see where this little monster went.'
'Weird.' That was the only thing on Silver's mind right now. 'He should still be somewhere near, why can't I sense him? Did he actually die?!' Unbeknownst to Silver, Zin is currently being shrouded by an aura from the mysterious dagger. Silver quickly composed himself, after realizing that a mana collision from someone that just awaken couldn't be life-threatening.
In certain situations, this would be true, but in Zin's situation, it would be the complete opposite. Mana collision happens when someone tries to mix in two different elements. In Zin's case, he forcefully infused the mana from the air directly into the void, causing a disruption leading to the explosion.
Sigh...
'Seems like I would have to wait for you to come to me. I hope that you won't make me wait for so long.' Silver grinned as he thinks of kidnapping Zin the moment he stepped into the capital, Emphia.

Ren has just arrived at a castle in Ismarouth, a kingdom known for their powerful force in the Human domain. Ren quickly heads in and finds the princess who was still eating her breakfast.
The lord of Ismarouth, James Alver, was stunned at this sudden intrusion from Ren. "Ren, why are you in such a hurry? What happened?!" To James, Ren was someone that does everything with a purpose, so he thought something must've happened for him to act this way.
"There you are! Young miss, we have no time to waste, let's go train right now!" Ren's excitement has reached its peak, after hearing that Silver would take in another disciple. 'How wonderful will it be, if my disciple triumph over that Old fart's disciple.'
With that, the excited Ren took the princess outside and started making her train her body, by first running 10 laps. 'Why did teacher come back so suddenly and start making me train!' She was just enjoying her breakfast in peace till Ren came in and took her away.
Creak!
The door to the backyard opened, and James was standing in front of it watching his daughter runs around. "Hey Ren, you better explain to me what's going on, why are you making her train all of a sudden?" James was really confused since he had never seen Ren like this, after all, they've known each other for 10 years.
"There's no more time to waste." Ren simply replied with a serious expression. "Eh? What do you mean? No time to waste for what?" James's mouth twitched as he heard this, and he was filled with questions.
"That old fart is gonna take in another disciple, I can't let him have the upper hand on me. I'll make sure that young miss will triumph over whoever Silver's taking in." James was dumbfounded at his remark. If he didn't hear this from Ren himself, he would've never believed this no matter how anyone convince him.
"You got all excited just because of that? Well, I suppose it's not bad since you're the one teaching her." James quickly composed himself, after realizing that it would be better for his daughter.
'Why isn't dad stopping him?! I haven't even finished my pudding!' The princess was still running laps as she watched her dad leave the backyard. At this sight, she quickly gave up on her father, and could only wait for her mother to come home sooner. 'Mother! Why did you leave so suddenly! I can't live with a teacher like this!'
"Quick! Run faster! You need to beat that kid at all costs!" In Ren's mind, he had already decided to double the training that she had been doing daily. 'I currently have the advantage so, If I can maintain this progress, that old fart will finally bow down to me for once in his life!'
Meanwhile, the princess had never hated anyone in her life, but now it's a different story. 'Who is this person that teacher's making me train so hard for! I swear if I ever see you, I'll kill you for making me train this much, and for not letting me finish my pudding!'

Zin was still unconscious in the middle of the plain. Many beasts had gone passed him without noticing his existence. With the dagger slipping out of his hand, the aura that had been protecting him starts to waver.
Soon there were two figures that can be seen from the distance coming toward Zin. Right now he was at his weakest state, and even if he wasn't he had no chance against an awakened. As the two figures were coming up to him, Zin starts to regain his consciousness.
"Where am I?" Zin barely sounded out with his severe state. He tried to sit up, but the pain was too much for him to tolerate. He then reached for the daggers beside him. Out of instincts the aura around him intensified, and the two figures from earlier walked right past him. It seems like the daggers sensed the danger and immediately used their power to protect Zin.
'Risking my life for these daggers was worth it.' Zin stares at the black gleaming daggers with interest.
'Let's see what else can you do.'
With this Zin started to inspect the daggers he risked his life for.

Shaman
*** Let's get this clear now: the MC is a trans woman. This is not a gender-bender. It's set in a fantasy world but the exploration of identity and gender is reality-based. Not a joke, not a kinky turn-on. If this is a problem for you, please just act like an adult and look elsewhere for something to read. *** Rating breakdown, since that should be public info: 2 x 5*, 1 x 4.5*, 1 x 3*, no reasons offered. A human shaman and healer returns from several years with the mysterious shyani, accompanied by her shapeshifting puma best friend. A valued friend, from her previous identity as a male student physician, has acquired an old shyani book, and extremists will not tolerate its presence in human hands. But back in human lands, the question arises: which world does she belong in? Generations ago, human explorers found a continent inhabited by an utterly alien culture of shapeshifting weyres and the shyani, humanoids who prefer dusk and dawn. A truce of sorts was eventually reached: humans claimed the rich lowlands, and the shyani and weyres retain the highlands. Along the border, practicality often rules, but on either side, old grudges linger in some hearts. As a student physician, Corin tried to take his own life, unable to bear the countless tiny wounds inflicted over twenty-one years of lying to himself in order to be, or pretend to be, socially acceptable. At the last improbable instant, intervention came, in the form of a spirit fox, who led him away from the existence he’d known in the lowlands and into the highlands. There, a puma weyre rescued him, and a shyani shaman helped him find his true self and offered a rebirth, a life with no more lies, and an important role to fill. Now a shaman and healer in her own right, Vixen who was once Corin learns that the one human who mattered to her in her previous life, then a fellow University student, has come into possession of an old shyani book, and the more fanatical shyani and weyres will stop at nothing to reclaim it and punish Jared. Even though it means going back into the lowlands and facing Jared as a woman, she can’t bear to just look the other way. This should be a short visit, just long enough to see the book into the proper hands and make sure Jared will not be killed for having it, and then she can return to the shyani community that has accepted her as their shaman. And, of course, her feline best friend Dayr insists on coming with her. But Jared is now a Lord, with considerable wealth and power, and his response to her presence isn’t one she expected. After years living with the shyani, she sees everything around her from a new perspective, and that makes it difficult to keep to the plan of making as few waves as possible. As an honoured guest in a highborn house, with only Jared aware that she has ever been anyone else, Vixen finds herself questioning where she belongs: with Dayr and the shyani, who accept her gender without question but have to make allowances for her differences, or with humans, in the culture she grew up in even though her past would mean a major scandal? *** Trigger warning: there are scenes of Vixen's previous life, which include some difficult moments and culminate in an (obviously unsuccessful) attempt at suicide before she finds her true self and a better life. Please be careful! This is the ONLY reason for the "Traumatising Content" tag.*** Complete stand-alone novel, 96K words. Also available on Scribble Hub and as a free ebook.
