《The Zodians - Book 1: The Outlander》Silhouette and Shield

Only Phalanx, Hargnes, and his parents remain unarmed. Jon looks at the four of them with a puzzled look, but he does not say anything either. Then Jon comes and takes his mother's hand, and gives her a silver shawl. He puts it in her palm, saying:
“This is Dasanilash…” he interrupts, then speaks so quietly that no one could hear. “…You will turn the table.”
Victoria looks at him and then accepts the cloak. Dasanilash is a hooded cloak. When she puts it on, the whole cloak glitters with a beautiful silvery light. But just seconds after she covers it with it, Victoria becomes completely invisible. She seems to disappear without a trace. They all look around in amazement but find nothing. It is not until a moment after Victoria removes the hood that she reappears.
“If you close her eyes and focus on yourself, Dasanilash has another power besides invisibility,” he said.
Indeed, when Victoria does as she is told, she closes her eyes and focuses on herself. When she opens her eyes, she is holding a longsword made of water but as sharp as ordinary swords. Not only that, but she also realises that another version of herself is standing beside her. Another "Victoria", identical to her exactly, even a curled strand of hair is the same. The two "Victoria" look at each other without taking their eyes off each other while the rest are equally shocked, only Jon remains calm. He says:
“It is your illusion. You can create as many illusions as you want. Illusions only go away when you absorb them or they get attacked.”
Victoria turns to look at her mirage. She takes it by the hand, feeling an infinite truth. Then Victoria closes her eyes tightly and concentrates her strength the same way she summons her illusion. The clone Victoria then re-enters her body and disappears, the water sword also dissipating. But she also knows that, with this ability, the situation of the battle could change in favour of her side. And just hope, her hunch is right.

"And this is yours, father. The Pyrossid Shield,” Jon hands it to him. "Father, use it with the Mighty Dragon sword."
Reind takes the Pyrossid shield and grasps it firmly with his left hand, while with his right he draws the Mighty Dragon fastened to his belt. Jon continues:
“Father, go over there, towards the rock in front of you,” then he turns to Leila who was standing next to him. "Can you let thunder strike my father's shield?"
"Of course!"
With that, Leila once again uses her power. She summons a pillar of thunder from above, which attacks Reind's Pyrossid shield. Thinking, if an ordinary person receives a lightning strike like this, there will be only ashes left. But amazingly, all the damage of the lightning column is absorbed by the Pyrossid. No one knows how or how all that power is transformed by the Pyrossid and passes through Reind's body. His eyes are so bright that his eyeballs have turned white, and his whole body is surrounded by electric flashes. That energy runs through his body and then focuses on the Mighty Dragon he is holding in his hand. Thus, it is clear that Pyrossid is an energy absorber, and the weapon, for Reind, is the Mighty Dragon that will explode that huge source of energy. After completely absorbing Leila's thunder column, Reind is like a ball of energy about to explode. His strength right now is unbelievable. Reind swings the billowing sword surrounded by lightning at the rock in front of him. Immediately, a death slash carrying the power of thunder explodes the rock, and sweeps a wide area around it.

Cycles of Ruin
Civilizations rise and fall. Kith build them up and monsters, led by powerful dungeon keepers, bring them to ruin. For three thousand years the cycle has been maintained by the Guild of Chaos and its endless hordes of minions who—in absence of their long lost creators—have taken it upon themselves to keep the realms of the universe in balance. The Guild has grown efficient at this task, but some among its ranks have begun to ponder the utility of a universe that has been robbed of the very possibility of change. Basil von Doom is one such dungeon keeper working for the Guild, leading an army of loyal minions from one conquest to the next; burning civilizations and sifting through the ruins in search of forbidden knowledge that the races of kith were never meant to possess. But having spent more than half a century in pursuit of glory and fame—trying to live up to the legacy of his father—Basil has grown indifferent towards his work. Desperate for a worthy challenge, but bound by his duties as a dungeon keeper, he has turned his mind towards uncovering the ultimate fate of the previous master of his house and the secrets that were buried with him. Now the young Master of House Doom must balance his growing interest in pursuing the trail of his father with the responsibilities that come with running a dungeon in service to the Guild of Chaos. To remain in good standing with the Guild, Basil has even accepted the task of mentoring an apprentice dungeon keeper, a young succubus named Elnora. It is at the tail end of her apprenticeship that the story begins; with a civilization poised to fall—its greatest heroes gathering for one last assault on the heart of darkness—and Basil striking up a conversation with his apprentice that will set into motion the unraveling of the universe. ***This is a rewrite and continuation of my story that was first posted on RoyalRoad a few years ago.
