《Tales of the Underground - The Game》Chapter 8

Like the others, Emilia Frye had escaped into one of the corridors. She had killed her light and remained as still as possible, while listening. Indeed there were sounds of unclear origin, far away.
But there was something else, somewhere near her. The muffled sound of something knocking against wood. Carefully Frye made a few steps into the direction from where she presumed the origin of that noise came. The sounds where getting louder and now she clearly heard how something or rather someone was knocking against the inside of one of the boxes.
"Hello?", she whispered. "Who's there?"
No answer. Maybe she was too far away. Perhaps the hammering was too loud. The person inside the medium sized box kept banging against it, trying to escape. Frye kneeled down next to the box and examined it. The lid was secured with a lock, but the
metal reinforcements looked worn out. Carefully she dug her fingers into the gap between box and lid. Then, in the same rhythm as the prisoner, she started pulling. The person inside seemed to have noticed her, because now he or she used more force.
Suddenly, with a loud noise, the lid sprang open and Anna Crissly fell out.
"Anna! What happened to you?", Frye whispered.
"I don't know. I just woke up in there. Are we dead?"
"Not yet. Let's go, we have to hide somewhere."
With as little light as possible, the two women followed another labyrinth, without any clear goal. But then by chance or fate they suddenly found themselves in front of another stuffed corpse, holding a key.
"Anna, watch your back. We don't want you to get kidnapped again."
"I don't see anything. Can we turn the light on?"
"No." Frye grabbed the key and turned to Crissly. "Let's get out of here."
Anna looked at her with a strange expression on her face. Then her eyes wandered to something behind Frye.
"Did...did that body just move?"
