《Suffocate My love》Chapter 11

Ryle placed the weapons on the table beside his bed..He had just left the shift which ends at around afternoon.Though he much loved his job , sometimes he enjoys the hours he spends alone One would think his room is a utopia but that would just be too much. His room is nothing out of the ordinary. It has a simple double bed with two nightstand on each end.
The bed was situated to the far end of the wall, running along instead of perpendicular to the wall. It was positioed in such a way that the two windows near each corner of the wall were at the head and foot of the bed..This enabled minimal entry as well as exit points into the bed.The ebony canopy of the bed didn't have any curtains whatsoever, just pleated drapes. As for the table at the side of the bed which is actually the middle of the room, it was used only to house the lantern that he uses to illuminate the room.Even though there were candle holder mounted on the greater perimeter of the room, he nonetheless adopted the habit of lighting this lantern.
Right adjacent to the two seater oak table was a bamboo drawer that he kept his clothing. The drawer was pushed on to the wall so much so that not even fine dust particles could find an easy path to wedge between the space. Opposite to the bed was another chair but this one was much larger, potentially could accomodate about three people without feeling too congested. At the head of this chair was a paintiy of a large corn field with two horsemen riding through it.This painting was both a source of joy and sadness.Ryle can't possibly quantify the number of times he had sat on his bed and stared at this painting whilst crying.Anway ,the two huge support pillars that were in the room had other candle holder nailed onto them..There trully isn't anything worth jade and pearls about this room, well maybe except its inhabitant.
It has been close to a full month since he had ever been with Syin.. Ever since Syin brought him back after he fell asleep on his back, there had been a lot of tension on both parties but mostly it was from Syin s side.He had carried him all the way from that scene to the comfort of his room and put him to bed..Its not exact as how that went down but it was most definitely the servants that put Ryle to bed.Anyway just a week ago, an expedition to hunt for clues of the fox killer in the forest near Reed's people, Syin purposefully didn't chose Ryle to join them..

Syin was picking his assistants for the mission.Ussually he picks Ryle first or the very last but the point is he alway picks him no matter what.So on that day when he called out the wolves he wanted to have accompany him, he never once looked at Ryle.Well on other days, Syin doesn't obviously gawk at Ryle but should their eyes meet, it was just so normal and so rythmic.Be-that-as-it may on this particular day, Syin fought with nook and cranny to thwart meeting Ryle s eyes. The other wolves noticed but were most definitely not going to say anything if they still wished to see the break of dawn. The one thing that the felt defied the laws of logic was when Syin didn't call Ryle onto the team..Just as they thought that he was about to realize that he forgot his 'mindset' behind, he left everyone speechless by simply dismissing the rest of the wolves assembled there by a condensending flick of the wrist. He proceeded to walk away after that.. Everyone was took aback. They always felt like when Ryle was around Syin, Syin was leee of a pedantic soulsucking beast and more approachable. They had gotten used to seeing them together everywhere, so now more than ever they are fearing for their lives.Syin could have built up anger that he could let reign on any of them during this mission..They were indeed scared but they could not refuse a command due to their cowardice.A wolf s ego is too huge.
Ryle watched as Syin walked away with the selected wolves. He didn't react whatsoever. He merely peered at them.No tears and no heart break. He felt absolutely nothing. And he convinced himself that because he feels completely unaffected by this, then its not a big deal at all.He spent the whole day completely normal like he didn't just witness rejection of the one person who thought of him as a treasure map..
That night when he got to his room, the candles on the walls and the pillar were already lit by the grounds keeper of the whole kingdom.. Their duty is to light the candles and clean so there is no way they could not do their job as they won't have a solid excuse..He took a candler off one of the holders and walked towards the lantern..He took of the oblong shaped body of the lantern off of the lantern s candle holder and he placed the body on the table. His motions were so gentle, one would be justified to think that this was a ceremonial artefact. He lit the candle inside the lantern and replaced the body of the lantern onto the candle frame. The silhouette on the body of the lantern was painted onto the walls of his room like petals on the window. The lantern also made a beautiful light akin to the golden sun rays..Just as he was walking back to replace the candle he felt a sudden darkness behind him.He turned around to face the source of the obstruction of light and that's when he noticed that the dancing flame of the candle in the lantern was extinguished.

It was not the fact that he couldn't explain how only this light turned off.It was neither the fact that he couldn't comprehend why it turned off.It was the inescapable truth that this candle symbolize how he is genuinely feeling now even though he might believe it himself. He walked back to the lantern and repeated his earlier action.Just as he was about to replace the lantern body, the flame went off once more. His hands got stuck midair as he saw the candle get extinguished in his peripheral vision..He placed the body back on the table and he took the candle and walked towards the table. He placed it on top of the table and he went to sit on the bed..His mind lingered off to the words that were inscribed on the token of this lantern..
"Let this candle and your heart be one.Every corner of this entity marks the boarders of your very soul.Without happiness in your heart there can never be light in your life"
He felt the tears well up in his eyes but he didn't want to cry and that's when he rolled onto the bed and forced himself to fall asleep. He tried so hard to call the sleep unto himself but his efforts yielded a watery discharge from his orbits. He was lying on his side but as oon as one tear left his eye, he dropped his body to supine position. He wasn't fighting nor struggling. The tears just fell from the corner of his eyes onto the bed covers.Drop by drop they left his eyes. The thumping and squeezing of his chestseemed to fuel more tears to leave his eye. When he started to feel like the pressure on his chest was reflecting onto his heart, that's when he opened his dried- up lips to exhale moist-less air.His petit cry was like he had been shot through the chest with a flaming arrow.
He placed his pillow over his face and just let the landslide of tears fall until he fell asleep..
For the next three days ,that was his routine.Crying out the burden in his heart until he fell asleep. However even though he cried and even though he felt trapped in his own soul, the weight on his lungs didn't lessen. He was struggling to go on everyday and that was worsened by that he felt like he was drowning in the very air keeping him alive...
So right now as he comes from his shift, he is losing his strength because he knows that when night falls, that is when the whole in his heart burrows deeper and more unbearable. If only he could pluck out the hurrowing entity in his heart. If only it was that easy.
A gentle array of footsteps outside the door broke him from his train of thoughts. He wanted to ignore the bypasser but it seemed as if the bypasser was lingering on his doorstep. Who could be so indecisive as to knock or not.His footsteps thudded as he walked over to the door.He placed his hand over the door lever and pulled it down to open the door
His eyes sweept from left to before he got suspicious.Unconciously he looked on the floor and saw a bundled up cloth. He reached for it , squatted and undid the knot.He opened it slowly and inside was a decorative ornament with dried up blood. He scrutinized it for a second and that's when it hit him.
Yevana s talisman!!
