《Without horizon》Chapter Four - Emergency meeting

Inside a large hall, worked in the center an extra-large marble table, and around it, chairs in all sorts of different sizes, depending on those represent. And behind each chair stood the door corresponding to the size of the chair it represented. But one of them caught my eye: one of the chairs was occupied by no more than the most respectable Larmyah I know:
"Ah, just in time!" he said in gentle words:
"I'm sorry I teased you straight to your job"
I did not find the words to reply to him, not to describe how annoyed I am by all the hustle and bustle he has for me and all my staff
"So why this meeting? You only summoned them because of the reports about ..." He lifted one of his arms and stopped saying:
"Not because of that" he noted this seriously: "And I'm not the one who summoned us" is a sign that the meeting was about to begin, and I walked away and stood behind him. After a few moments, a small, mouse-like figure came out of one of the rooms, wearing a dignified suit and equipped with a piece of plaque. If I recall right, they are called Mousekin. I have never met one before. In the middle of the stairs that were installed next to the huge chair above my head, he managed to reach the center of the table. It seems he had a great effort just to get to the center.
"I'm announcing now the opening of the Federation's emergency conference" is a poster in the loudest voice, using a coded rune that amplifies his speech:
"And with him to begin with, I am going to announce all the representatives of each member and race and he will be served to the table"
I'm just standing still when I realize I'm at the center of something important. It's been a long time since I've been in anything like this, but not on the scale that required me to stand up to leaders.
"And now, I'm starting to announce: President Trinder H. Flinx of the Mirtal government, present?"
Just as he was speaking, he stood up and confirmed:
"All the Larmyah are ready and present" and returned to sit quietly.
"Excellent" he continued: "A representative of the Mantodea technocracy present?"
And from one of the rooms came a large, green, and armored figure, with 4 legs and 2 arms that at each end of them was filled with a large claw, and one of his eyes looked at me and I can understand that this eye is robotic. He went to his chair his size was huge 5 times that of the president, like a monster.

"Chief scientist Charic, Mantodea's representative, is present and ready to discuss" he sat down quickly but did not seem to feel comfortable in his chair.
"The honor is mine" he paused for a few minutes, engraved on a plaque, and then continued: "The representative from Ferlth-De Union present?"
And I think I've lost concentration since that point, and looking like I'm trying to hide that I'm tired and already waiting for all the delegates to come in, I think I'm already shortening the whole show and I'm trying to remember a few things: Who just came in, the Ferlth-De Union The belief that everyone should stand on their own, and their variety is respectable, whoever enters the hall now was nothing more than the largest race. A titan that almost touches the ceiling when he enters with four arms and a long tail. cover with skin that boiling with magma and volcanic stone, known by many as "Lavawalkers". when he tries to sit on the chair, I felt for a moment that it would burn the whole structure, but they seem to have control over their heat emission.
Right after one of the delegates came in, I think he said it was from the democratic monarchy Regalis ultima, where everyone looks like little dragons, until I think they came from true dragons. But if I remember, their skin color represents what element they control, and whoever enters is in green-purple, so I think he controls the magic of plagues, a little disturbing.
The one who came in next for a change was a "normal" size, covered in feathers and large wings but walking on 2 in a long white robe and adorned with gold. if I recall right, they called Caeca. Undoubtedly, he is arrogant in my opinion, but that's how the great leader of the Holy Exalted Coalition wears.
And the last one to come in is not a full member of the federation, but as a spectator, they are quite important as they helped them a lot. But your appearance is not particularly appealing (and their name): as a poltergeist with magic third eye and body that is almost white, but prolongs life according to rumors I have heard from them, the Errors from the Resurrection Devils Council, are a race that no one understands their motive. But that, it's a headache for another day.
The announcer finished reading all the important details and he got off the center and joined a representative of Ferlth-De before talking to him and leaving the room. right after that, someone like him came in and went to a little porch that was hanging on one of the walls. After a few moments he sat down on the chair there:

"I'm in charge of the meeting and now, we can start discussing everything that happening." he declared.
"So let's start with project Astra, what's its progress status?" ask the Lavawalker
The president just got up: "The project is progressing faster than expected and we think we are in the final stages. We just need to find some solutions to the problems of the energy network and the control system and the project will be completed."
When the project is complete, It was the largest weapon ever built, larger than any airship ever built, hovering like capital in the air.
"Excellent" he replied: "We will of course continue to provide everything that is required, and now we will move on to the next thing and the reason we gathered here: the global danger"
"It's been more than 160 years since the last danger was when the Resurrection betrayed the goblins with radioactive fire, and put an end to the nuisance," Charic said and everyone seemed to agree.
"But things are starting to show that there are dangers that are starting to accumulate: recently came a report from Regalis that small islands have disappeared from the horizon, and even worse, one of the free islands has crashed into my territory. Said the Lavawalker.
"It's an excellent cover with the recent dragon attack on the Mantodea Island."
"Indeed, thanks to the magic ability of Regalis and the Roccs riders of Mirtal, they were able to defeat the dragon and are now in our complete control"
"Excellent, along with 4 Dryadons, everything in the federation is strong enough even to face the Island eater" noted this the charge of the meeting
Defeating 2 of the four most powerful forces in the world: True Dragon, True Rocc, Dryadons, and Island eater, is an achievement that cannot be rested.
"But it is far from safe" the chief scientist noted: "There are follow-up reports about the movement of another dragon that is in the area and may arrive at any moment"
"We'll keep an eye on them, right now I want to hear from our buoys about the state of your war against the Doombriners."
One of the Errors stood, inside some of his creepiness, and began to try to speak:
"The war situation is worsening, we have lost many soldiers and we want to ask permission from you to evacuate the residents to one of the islands of the federation" he noted with pain, but quickly the Lavawalker confronted them:
"You do not need such a permit in time of war, I will personally take responsibility for the refugees, but are you sure you do not need reinforcements?"
"No. the answer is still no" he said honestly before bowing and returning to sit.
"Now that it's off the chapter, we need to discuss the following thing: the disappearance of mana from the environment" This is exactly the moment they called me for it, it took longer than enough. I moved forward until I got right next to the president, and all the delegates looked at me. I tried to concentrate on the documents I had in my arms, and after taking a deep breath, I started talking:
"In the order of monitoring mana flow concentrations, before individual cycles, the levels crashed to almost non-existent, but no unusual behaviors of magical creatures were observed, including us, the Larmyah. Which begs the question what is the cause of this?" Everyone started looking curious about the answer, but when I looked at the documents, I see something strange in the data that does not explain why this is so, but I kept talking nonetheless:
"Right now one of the theories holds that this is a movement cycle in concentration, others say there is something that is interfering" Suddenly the representative of Mantodea stopped me, and started talking:
"I feel yours is there something else in your mind that you want to share with us?"
"I think so. That's my opinion, but I guess all mana in this world has really run out because of something big, and the world is now based soiled only on Ether. We do not know if this energy is similar or completely different, but the fact that we are still alive, indicates that it is similar, but it requires more research "
"If this is so, it means that it is contrary to the current theory that this energy is unlimited."
"I think we will stop this discussion for another time" the head of the meeting intervened: "Even if this theory was incorrect, this work coincidentally causes islands to fall and disappear into the abyss, feeling connected somehow" The other representatives talked to each other, they seem a little pale Out of concern. I know it's bad. So the head of the meeting stood up and addressed me directly and to the President:
"I think it's necessary to hide it more from the general public. I think it's time to tell them about it."
