《Without horizon》Chapter Ten - Aftermath

In the meeting room of the capital, the emergency meeting continued behind closed doors, and with it, they began to discuss the situation in the federation again. With him, all the representatives of the federation gathered once more.
"So what's the discussion this time for today?" The charge of the meeting staying on the small terrace that hung in the room announced.
"We want to report on how progress is being made with the 'Great Escape' project and what some introductions are," Mantodea's chief scientist replied: "I can report that all the molds for building the machine have been completed. It remains only to start collecting all the necessary materials."
"And what materials are needed for this machine?" Asked the great leader of the Holy Exalted Coalition, while he cleaned the beak.
The scientist took out of a pocket that was under his feet and with him rolled a relatively small list and began to read:
"According to what is written in the everything and the information boards we once collected, what we were able to decipher from there is all the necessary materials: iridium, gold, adamantium" he focused on the list before continuing: "We also need dark matter, Talmedium, Nullvers and Muiredne. "We need to process them before we can use them. As for the Muiredne, we are already in the process of creating ready-made samples for the construction of the machine. We just need a supply of this material. Exalted Coalition, that's your job."
"Yes, we are aware of the requirements of this material and we will deliver them soon" the great leader replied.
"As for the Talmedium, the Ferlth-De Union already provides us and the Nullvers provide us with a trade agreement with the Kingdom of Arcimea, but while it has been reported that there have been cases of theft of this substance recently, fortunately, we do not need much of it and the quantity arrived recently is sufficient," the scientist noted.
"But we have some serious problems with another supply of materials: adamantium, dark matter, and one other mysterious substance I did not mention - Kalooms" noted the Lavawalker sitting at the end of the room, trying to arrange the documents with all four hands.
"It's true," the scientist replied, "as for adamantium, I heard that they have recently been able to invent tools that can mine this material."
"It's true," the Mirtal president replied: "Our team has already handed over the blueprint to the Astra team, where they will install on the machine and we will soon be completing it. We also have a way to process this material."
"True, we have already been able to invent a promising furnace that may be able to work with the material, according to documents you have forwarded to us" The scientist brought a document listing everything they did to the president.

"The subject of dark matter, we know of being an accessible source of that substance at Resurrection," said the great leader.
Standing next to the Resurrection representative, the white figure came to the table and began to speak in a broken voice:
"We had access to this area, but now we can not or do not know how to catch such material"
"Interesting, so how do we solve this? Invade back to the island and slaughter all the Doombriners?" A scientist asked him.
"We do not know how many there are there, but I rest assured that now it is very dangerous to start a military expedition to recapture the island" replied the Lavawalker who finally managed to arrange the documents into a pile.
The white figure returned to the other representatives and talked to them quietly. After that they joined back to them:
"I think we know about anything to get the material without getting there" he replied to them.
"That's great! What are you going to use?" The scientist asked
"We will not find out, but as soon as we are done with it, we will deliver it to you soon" the white figure replied before he returned to the place together with the followers.
"It's great to hear that everything is promoting properly" The King of Regalis greeted them: "There remains only one question - what to do with the substance Kaloom?"
Everyone sat in silence, while everyone tried to think of a way around the problem. So the scientist got up from the chair and left the room for a moment, while the rest continued to talk.
"Looks like he's going to ask his staff," King said to the rest.
"I guess, it's not an easy problem. I think in the meantime we'll sit on something else until he comes back" The charge of the meeting said: "I heard there was a disaster on your island" he turned to the king, while he sat down uncomfortably.
"Yes, there was an island fall on one of the inhabited areas. Unfortunately, it managed to kill at least 100 residents, and the count continues"
"It's unfortunate, I think Ferlth-De has already sent an evacuation and rescue team"
"In a situation like this, we can not stop such an incident that has become particularly common in recent days," the Lavawalker replied, "I heard that the team I sent was able to evacuate the trapped and injured residents from the area. They are doing an excellent job."
"Yes, thank you very much for your quick response" The king replied: "But you also fell an island, especially large and not dismantled like ours"
"True, a team has already been sent to investigate, and there they reported to me something interesting: on this island, there are many living structures, and among them really small creatures roam" Suddenly the president interrupted him:

"How small? Like us or like the Mousekin?"
"Like the Mousekin" he replied, then went on to say:
"They were like ants, but they seem to behave in unity. What's more interesting is that with their bodies they build these structures."
"Do they also have casualties?" Asked the great leader
"I do not know if enough of them escaped us. But thanks to the magic of translation, we were able to gather information from them" From the stack of documents he managed to gently pull out a fine piece of paper. Everyone thought he would burn him, but it did not happen. He sacrificed the paper to his eyes and began to read:
"The city where my team came into belongs to a civilization called 'Supreme Abacus', they use their homes to think and find solutions. We found that they invented mana engines and even used them to navigate their small island. Because it was small enough to move in the mana currents. "They have, even technologically, no presence of metals of any kind. Instead, they used wood for basically everything."
The delegates were quite impressed with their accomplishments.
"Even from what it turns out, there is a material that was unfamiliar to us. They called it ...." He presses the paper to his eyes to understand what is written. Everyone else was expecting what he read. Suddenly the scientist burst back into the room, excited:
"We have found where this material can be submitted!" He was excited
"And where is it located?" The charge of the meeting asked.
"We received samples from the expedition sent to the island that crashed on Ferlth-De Island. We did experiments, and to me the description, this is the material we need!" He placed his claws on the marble table while the rest were confused.
"I think it might be worthwhile to hear first what the crew found first," the king said.
The scientist for a moment recovered and sat down: "Finished your speech first"
After a slight silence, the Lavawalker continued to speak:
"The stuff they found turns out to be what you said: they called it Kaloom!"
"What a coincidence from the abysses" The scientist replied sarcastically: "Do you think we can contact them about the supply of the substance?"
"I do not think it is necessary. The crew found a leak of this exotic substance in the walls of the island" he replied.
"This is good news! We can collect as much as we need!" The scientist replied
Suddenly the great leader stood up and laid his hand on the table:
"Are you sure it will not be considered a war against them? This is not a theft of material from them?"
Everyone thought for a moment, and began to turn directly to the Lavawalker:
"As for the material, according to what is written in it, they do not seem to know how to collect them, so I think there was no problem, especially in such a dangerous situation one should take a risk"
The person in charge of the meeting wrote the things down on a plate, and began to announce:
"I guess it solves all the problems. I guess it was Ferlth-De's job to collect the liquid material from the walls. It remains only where to build the machine."
The Lavawalker began to open his hands, trying to symbolize something:
"I know a good and safe place: if by chance and the goblins' signs are correct and we have received confirmation information, I guess they will want to take revenge on us and destroy the machine. I suggest we build the ready one on Demon Island" everyone agreed with him. This island is very hostile to every living creature they know so far, except for its inhabitants and possibly the 4 forces of the world.
"In the heat shields we invented and tested, we can be sure to go to this island. And because they do not know the place, if they are still alive. It is the safest place."
"I suppose it would also be worthwhile to move all the armies to the place, to secure it," the president said. Then, after a short conversation, all the delegates agreed to all the things that were said and ended the meeting. The president returned to his island and began to prepare to organize the tasks assigned to him, but he heard a knock on the office door.
"Sir, we have a report!" One of the guards told him approached him, closing the door behind him:
"Scout what the Holy Exalted Coalition crashed into us in one of the island's settlements. We tried to save his life, without success."
"It's unfortunate," the president replied, "you know his name, that we can give them the body for burial?"
"No, but we did get a report from him"
"What its the report?"
"According to what I was told: 'The goblins are back, and they're on their way to attack!'"

A world with a strange thing called a leveling system. Current update schedule: Tuesday 10:00 PM NZT Idea I had of an Abyss Watcher from Dark Souls 3 being transported into a LitRPG world. You don't have to know any of the lore from Dark Souls to understand this, however if you want to know more about the lore just google it or something, I can't stop you But it's not like it will be very useful in this story as I plan to not be focused on Dark Souls Lore. As a side note for those reading this while it is ongoing, I will occasionally go back to previous chapters and sometimes add certain elements to the skills and leveling. Not to worry though as I will tell you as to what I have edited in the authors notes, so be sure to pay attention to those when they appear as they may contain information required for continued understanding. Also, if you decide to drop this book then please leave a comment on the chapter you stopped on and tell me what made you stop.

A Prose of Years
For decades, spiritualist Evert Kallstrom and his team have joined in humanity’s millennia-long fight against the beasts. Wielding their weapons and their ki, they fought and killed these great threats to civilization. And yet, despite their efforts, humanity was losing traction in the war. In the last fifty years alone, more cities had been overrun than in all of known history. While most thought the great beasts natural, a few knew the terrible truth. They were the product of a dark lord, who desired neither fame nor wealth nor power. Instead, his sole purpose was the genocide of humanity. While their peers dithered, a small faction of the strongest mankind had to offer—including Evert Kallstrom and his team—set out towards the Deadlands to find and confront this dark lord. After weeks of travel, twenty-one spiritualists found themselves approaching an ancient fortress wherein rested a being known only as the Eastern Guardian. All they found was death. But death has other plans for Evert. Evert bolts awake in his 16 year old body near his hometown, decades in the past. He is confused, poor and weak. But with grit, sweat, and years of experience, he won't let the future repeat itself. That level of strength won't be enough by itself (it wasn’t last time) and victory is hardly assured (he’ll need to reach farther and higher than he ever did), but Evert refuses to squander a second chance. [Other tags: First Person POV, Hard Magic, Faulty Memory] Volume 1 is complete and has been fully released. My current intention is not to write any sequel volumes. That said, I have also released appendices (SPOILERS) that cover the worldbuilding and future story-that-never-was. Comments suggesting fixes for grammar, misspellings, etc. appreciated. Note: If you came here from Candlelit Lives, these stories have nothing in common.
