《MYTHICAL DESCENDANT: Married to Mr. Fox》Chapter 6: THE VOW

A few days have passed. The next day was Ember and Jayden's wedding. The night before the wedding, Ember had dinner with Damian and Aubrey in their apartment. On the table, they served grilled chicken, shrimp, crab, and salad.
"Tonight is the last night we have dinner together." Damian expressed his sad feelings. He felt this was the last supper between him and Ember. Ember was surprised to hear his father's words and thought he was overeating.
"Papa, what are you talking about? I'm not going to die for you saying that. I'm still returning home to see you." But Damian's expression shows a gloomy expression. Ember felt guilty seeing Damian acting in that manner.
"Papa..."
"Okay, alright, I just miss you. Every day I see you, but after this, I don't see you every day. It's hard for me to accept. You were always by my side, but seeing you not around anymore makes me sad."
"Uncle Damian, sooner or later, Ember will get married. You have to learn to accept it." Aubrey tries to persuade Damian. Damian nodded his head after hearing Aubrey's words to him, and thought what Aubrey had said was right.
After they finished eating, Aubrey and Ember went into the bedroom and put on face masks together. Aubrey was curious about something, and she asked Ember with a curious expression.
"Ember, as long as you were with Zane, did you ever sleep with him?"
"Never.'
"So that means this is the first time you'll hmm..." Aubrey was excited and giggled. She was teasing Ember. But Ember was worried about something else.
"But what if I'm uncomfortable and don't like being touched by the man?"
"But you must have a child with him. That is your mother-in-law's request."
Aubrey was right, she thought. Whether she liked it or not, she needed to obey because she didn't have a choice either. Because this is the path she chose.
After they finished, they did a night skincare routine. They went to sleep. The next morning, Aubrey wakes Ember. She's cheering happily.
"Good morning, Ember. Today, you are getting married."
"Why are you so happy?" Ember asked while rubbing her eyes.
"I can't wait to see your husband." Aubrey smirks. Ember shook her head with a smile and got out of bed, went to the bathroom, and took a shower. She and Aubrey went to the bridal shop because she was going to be dressed up there. When they left the apartment, a Mercedes was waiting for them. The driver invited them to ride in the car. Upon arriving at the bridal shop, they went inside. Carlos came to greet them.

"Ember, nice to meet you again, and who is this pretty woman next to you?"
Carlos was curious after he saw Aubrey.
"She's my cousin. Her name is Aubrey."
"Oh, your cousin. It's nice to meet you, Aubrey. My name's Carlos."
"Nice to meet you, too." After they introduce themselves, Carlos looks at both of them.
"Ember, come with me. I'll make you beautiful, and Aubrey, I think you need to look beautiful. as well. My assistant will assist you."
After a few hours, they were ready. Aubrey wore a long, strapless pink dress. Her hair was curled. She looks elegant and lovely. Aubrey waited for Ember. Carlos came to see Aubrey and asked her with an excited expression.
"You're ready to see Ember." Aubrey nodded with an impatient face. She can't wait to see Ember in her wedding dress.
"Ember, please show yourself." Ember came out after Carlos called her name, and Aubrey was shocked and captivated. Ember wore a white, off-shoulder wedding gown with floral lace and beads. Her hair is in a messy bun hairstyle with a veil.
"Ember, you look so beautiful, you're like a princess."
Ember blushes, hearing the compliment from Aubrey. She felt embarrassed.
After dressing up, they went to the place where the wedding took place. The place is a large open area. But the wedding was held indoors. Aubrey was stunned to see the wedding venue. The wedding venue's outdoor part is decorated with very beautiful decorations. It looks luxurious. The wedding reception is held outdoors after the wedding ceremony is finished.
"Ember, did you marry a prince? This wedding venue is awesome, and the decor is very luxurious."
"I don't know who I'm married to. I only know he's from a wealthy family."
"Ember, what if he's crippled? That's why this marriage is secret, without you having to meet each other."
"Don't talk nonsense. If he's crippled, maybe this is the fate of my life."
Aubrey was silent at Ember's words and thought she was really ready for everything to come in her life.
Jayden was already inside the wedding venue with all the guests. He wore a black suit with a bow tie. He tied his hair in a half-bun in a messy style. He looks stunning with his height. He has broad shoulders and a V-shaped body.

Ember stood in front of the door and waited to be called. She felt nervous. She couldn't imagine she would get married today and become someone's wife. She still wishes the path that she chose today would bring happiness to her life.
They were all looking forward to Ember's entrance. Jayden felt his heart beating fast with nervousness. He had never felt this way before. Marrying someone without knowing who the person is really makes him nervous and also thinks he would be someone's husband. He never thought about getting married. This is a big surprise in his life. This is an unexpected marriage for him.
After Ember was ready, the announcer announced that Ember was to go inside. "Here comes the bride."
Ember took a deep breath, and the door opened. All eyes were on her. Jayden watched from a distance as the door opened and Ember stood there. Ember is 50 metres away from him. She goes inside, accompanied by music. After Ember stepped inside, Aubrey went inside and found an empty seat. The closer Ember got, the more stunned they were at seeing Ember's beauty. Her father burst into tears when he saw his daughter walking down the aisle.
Damian waited for Ember in the middle of the aisle. In the middle, Damian held Ember's hand and walked with Ember towards Jayden. The more Ember got near him, the more Jayden's facial expression changed. Ember's beauty shocked him. But Ember hadn't looked at Jayden's face because her eyes were looking at the floor. Arrive near Jayden. Ember's father said as he gave Ember's hand to Jayden.
"My son-in-law, please take good care of my daughter. She's my only treasure in this world."
Ember is sad to hear Damian's words. Jayden just nodded his head, saying nothing. He had no idea what to say to him. Jayden held out his hand and she held it. She lifted her head slowly and looked at Jayden.
They were eye to-eye. She was stunned to see Jayden and spoke from the heart. She thinks negatively about him.
Oh my god, am I married to a prince? This guy is more handsome than Zane. I'm sure this guy has a lot of mistresses.
At the same time, Jayden also spoke in his heart. Hmph! She's too beautiful. I don't like beautiful women.
The marriage officiant said, "Today, we are witnessing them becoming a married couple. The groom, please say the marriage vows to the bride."
Jayden took the ring and slipped it on Ember's ring finger and said the marriage vows while looking at Ember's face with a serious expression. Ember just stared at her ring finger.
"I, Jayden Braxton, take you to be my wife, and I promise you these things: I will be faithful to you and honest with you; I will respect, trust, help, and care for you; I will share my life with you; I will forgive you as we have been forgiven; and I will try with you to better understand ourselves, through the best and worst of what is coming. This is my solemn vow."
The marriage officiant said again, "The bride, please say your marriage vows to the groom."
Ember took the ring and slipped it onto Jayden's ring finger. Ember hesitantly looked at Jayden's face. Ember looked at him, and Jayden looked at her with a straight face. Ember encouraged herself to keep staring at Jayden face and said,
"I, Ember Sawyer, take you to be my husband, and I promise you these things: I will be faithful to you and honest with you; I will respect, trust, help, and care for you; I will share my life with you; I will forgive you as we have been forgiven; and I will try with you to better understand ourselves, through the best and worst of what is coming. This is my solemn vow."

Capable of wielding magic and using spirits of their own, these shamans were not only skilled in battle, but also divination. However, they were unable to correctly predict Japan's loss in World War Two, and suffered the punishments that followed. Persecuted and torn apart by infighting, the Onmyoji reunited under the banner of the Tsuchimikado clan, descendants of Abe no Seimei, one of the greatest Onmyoji to ever live. The Onmyoji began to rebuild and to regrow. Ren is the sole heir to the Tsuchimikado family, but has been unable to practice Onmyodo ever since his birth, even though he possesses the greatest ability in the family. But when disaster befalls his family, Ren has nobody to turn to, and no idea how to use his powers. As he journeys to escape the same fate his family faced and attempts to learn how to use his powers, there is only one question on his mind; as the Tsuchimikado heir, how can he save the Onmyoji... from themselves? ---------------------------------------------- note from author: I'm writing this based loosely on the very real theories of Onmyodo, and so my writing may not be a truthful or accurate depiction of Onmyodo or other related areas, such as religion, for instance. That is why, while depicted in the real world, events that happen may seem unrealistic and it may be easier to imagine it as a parallel universe that is the same as ours, but with slight differences so that my possible errors will be easier to overlook. Sorry, and thanks!
