《Holmes: the case of the colored blood》feb. 9 20xx : Log 11

He was right, he was right about everything. So much happened in a couple of minutes. First there was silence, that's normal for any stake out. Then, a man in a black coat came out onto the peer and began setting something up. It looked like the memorial before but there was something off about it. For there were two images instead of one. Second, the images didn’t look like the victim from before.
It was slightly blurry so I couldn’t tell who the people we’re, but it was very quickly revealed when I felt an unexplainable pain in the back of my neck. Holmes grabbed my arm and we ran towards Jim, yes, the man in the coat was Jim. Holmes hollered
“You my good sir are trash, no, your lower than trash, you're a man of authority!”
Jim didn’t respond, he just stared in horror, his eyes slightly popping out of his head as he stuttered. I turned to see the little girl from earlier she was smiling.
“Hello, mr. Holmes.”
I don’t know what it was but there was something different about her than before. Jim started shaking.
“I didn’t know. Please I mean it, I didn’t know.”
The girl smiled at Jim as she adjusted her pink earrings.
“I believe you Jim, but you know how my Teddy gets when he’s upset.”
The panic on Jim's face became even more procice as he begged. Holmes motioned for me to close my eyes, I don’t know why, but I did. Jims screams echoed through my head… then there was a loud CRUNCH. Jim screams got louder, the quieter as the crunching continued. When I uncovered my eyes, the sight I saw was horrible. Jim's body had been ripped apart. His torso and inner organs we’re stranded everywhere. I looked up to find the upper half of his body hanging out of the mouth of a large green bear-like creature with glowing blue eyes. On closer inspection I realized the bear was mechanical. The girl’s smile changed as she laughed and ran to hug the creature. The thing morphed and shifted until the creature changed into a man.

I stared dumb founded at the couple as they celibrated the carrnage. Gosbi on the other hand didn’t seem shocked at all.
“Mr. Johnson, I assume.” the two turned to face Gosbi, their blue eyes shimmering. Mr. Johnson lurched towards us, his form slowly changing back into the mechanical monster.
“There's no need for that Mr. Johnson. I have no intention of destroying you and your companion’s ‘art’ that was simply a bluff. I wanted to see your handy work for myself.”
Mrs. Heart’s nose crinkled as a look of realization drained the color from her face.
“In that case I guess we should go.”
Mrs. Heart turned to leave Mr. Johnson followed behind. A wall of barbed wire came up through the dock’s floor trapping me and Holmes in place. Holmes smiled, placing a pipe in his mouth.
“Yes, I suppose, under other circumstances it would be that simple for someone like you Mrs. Hea- sorry, Mrs. Hare. Unfortunately for you, I couldn’t care less who you, or your family is. What you’ve done is horrendous and illegal, and I assure you you’ll face the consequences that come with what you’ve done..”
I looked at Holmes in surprise. Holmes looked at me complete calm sinking over his face.
“ You didn’t know? It's quite simple Watson, I figured it out as soon long before I met Mr. Johnson. I noticed Mrs. Melissa hare seemed very protective of her, naturally so…
I didn’t know at the time why that was so unnerving until our talk with Melissa, before meeting her I did research on the family and noticed a pattern of family members showing unhealthy obsessions with significant others to the point of keeping them hostage. Remember that Mr. Johnson is the sole survivor of a gang that was brutally murdered on this peer…

That's right, that incident was caused by the same person who committed these crimes. It wasn’t handled as well though, most like it was a heat of the moment attack. Which is why people thought it was someone else. I admit at first I thought it was Jim, leading us off track. Jim disproved that theory after slipping up in his conversation, when he said “she”.
That's when I circled back to my original hypothesis, it wasn’t enough for me to know the truth though. I had to prove it to you. Despite it being so clear you didn’t seem to get a clue so I used the exact thing that made the Hares so disgusting and well known against them… they’re “art” do you remember what melissa said, “art’s meant to be seen.” I simply tried to rob Mrs. Hare of what she wanted most… public recognition. Why do you think the small fragments of the hare's history haven't been completely destroyed? They wanted to get away but if the crime was silenced then no one would see the wonderful job they did. So you see Watson, they couldn’t possibly handle leaving things there. So they had Jim go back to the peer to place things back the way they were with two new victims to boot, I'm sure its clear from The photos of the next victims were us. All these things to keep us from covering their tracks. Am I mistaken Mrs. Hare?”
Mrs. Hare looked at Holmes clearly unhappy.
“Do you have any FUCKING idea how hard I worked on this? I don’t care if it was a stupid prank, THAT'S FUCKED. What if I were to kill the only witness to this and let you get the chair for it. Would you be congratulating me? Don’t get me wrong like HELL I’d let you take credit for MY hard WORK!!! Go ahead, tell the police. Tell the news, TELL EVERYONE!!! LIKE THEY’D BELEAVE A FUCKING CRACKED EGG!!!”
Mr. Johnson put his hand on Mrs. Hare’s shoulder instantly calming her down.
“Sorry honey, lets go.”
Mr. Johnson and Mrs. Hare went to leave only to be stopped by the authorities.
“I don’t believe that will be necessary, you see Mrs. hare, I felt bad about lying, so I decided to get you the attention you so desperately longed for.”
Mrs. Hare and Mr. Johnson ran across the dock, their forms changing as they ran. The chef stared in shock at the robotic creatures as the two made their way into a storage unit. The chef held out his hand stopping the force from running in after them claiming it'd be too dangerous to try to take them in, not without extra help. Truth be told, looking at Jim's bloody body I have to agree With him. At least we know where they are and, hopefully we can find a way to keep the past from repeating itself. Holmes seems upset that we can't arrest the culprits but when your culprits are human cyborg hybrids with jaws that can crush a tank. There's only so much the police can do.

This fiction is based on a short story I wrote inspired by a prompt on r/WritingPrompts. Contrary to my plans, I haven't sketched out the story in detail or written anything ahead of time.
