Chapter 7 – After my performance

After my performance, I quickly left the stage, removed my costume and went back to my room to relax. While going to my room, I heard people talking about me.

“The princess was amazing…”

“Yeah, I still can’t believe that she’s still 6 years old”

“Also, she was singing and dancing non-stop while smiling… that must require a lot of stamina.”

“I guess we should be proud of our princess then”

Most of the things they were saying about me was positive so I’m really happy.

I then relaxed inside my room for a few minutes until my father called for me

“Yuki.”

“Y-Yes father? I replied nervously. Uwaaaa why is he talking to me so seriously? Did I do something wrong? He then started speaking again

“Your concert… was too popular…”

“Yes?” I was confused.

Apparently, my concert was so popular to the public that they wanted more. It seems like they really liked me huh… Also my popularity has made high ranking aristocrats interested. So my father was worried that I was going to be dragged into an engagement. I don’t have any interest about getting married to a man. Instead I want to get married to a cute girl!

Same sex relationships aren't actually prohibited here. People with the same gender can get married. But it is still looked down upon in the aristocratic world as girls are expected to make heirs. I want to counter this by making myself popular with the common people. If I have enough influence, they won’t be able to force any engagement on me as long as I don’t agree on it. If they do force me even though I don’t want to, then I’ll just protest or revolt against this country

I’m sorry father and mother, I prioritize cute girls over my family… Of course they don’t know this plan yet and as of right now, if I were to get engaged. I wont be able to do anything with it for a few years as I’m not super popular yet.

Though, I doubt that my father will do anything like that though…

“I am not interested in getting engaged with someone father. Besides, I’m still 6 years old.”

“Actually anyone at any age can get engaged. I’m not planning in getting you engaged. But I do think that we have to do something to shut the mouths of the aristocrats asking for you…”

“I see”

“I’ll tell you more about it when you turn 10 and attend an academy”

“Academy?” I asked. He said that he’s planning on sending me into an academy in another nation to improve our relationships with that nation.

I see… When I go to that academy, I’ll have to part ways with mika-san huh… I hope that I’d still be able to meet her after I graduate…

An academy is where nobles who just turned ten will study for 5 years. There are 3 divisions. The normal class, The magic class and the knight class. Everyone needs to go to the normal class. But people also has the choice to join the other two classes. You can join 2 classes or if you want you can even join all of them. Personally, I’m planning on joining all of them.

Normal classes have math, history and languages. Those three are necessary subjects. People can also learn other subjects like dancing, singing, cooking, politics and others.

Magic classes have attack magic, support magic and magic engineering.

While the knight class have one subject… Swordsmanship. Swordsmanship includes training so I guess it’s fair?

Either way, I’d be joining all of these subject lessons as I’m interested in all of them!

“Anyways today is finally the day that we’ll be able to learn your status” My father said, he asked me to come back here in a few hours after the priest has been called in to see my status.

A few hours has passed so I decided to come back to my father’s office.

“Dad, Is the priest ready?” I asked after knocking the door to his office. He said yes and told me to come in

He then introduced me to the priest and finally the priest asked me to put my hands above a round shaped device and told me to say status while giving mana to the device
