《The Ripper》Give and Take

X1: He turned to face the man who had just spoke, he looked to be in his forties, he wore a navy-blue jacket his hair neatly combed which was a far cry from his own messy hair, he looked the man in the eye and said “leave now and I won't kill you."
His arm dropped to his side as black glistening claws slowly came from his fingertips. The men surrounding him took a step back once they saw the claws. He could smell their fear "last chance... Leave."
???:"Open fire!!"the man shouted at the top of his lungs.
Why don't they ever listen. He thought to himself as bullets went through him. He run to them and with every swing a life was lost. The old man watched all this and muttered to himself 'what a monster. '
In a matter of minutes every one except the Oldman was dead. The scene was so shocking and brutal the man fell back on his bum.
Oldman:" please... spare me... I have a family... I'll leave and never come back... I swear!” He pleaded as the monster got closer to him.
X1:"I gave you the chance to do that Oldman but you rejected it."
Oldman: "please I'm begging you"
X1:"I don't give second chances and the name's Eric...Eric Lycan" he said the last part as he stabbed through the man's heart.
Eric retracted his claws, raising his head taking a look at the massacre he had just performed. The once peaceful street was now littered with bodies and dyed red, the entire street was devoid of life except for Eric who stood in the middle watching everything.
Some normal civilians were hiding in the buildings at the side peeking through the windows with some even recording the entire scene with their devices. Before that day, if anyone had told them that such a person existed, they would have done nothing more than scoff at the person thinking they had watched too much television, but now there he was, the impossible, right before their eyes.

The false sense of peace did not last long as the ground beneath his feet began to shake, Eric got into a stance ready for another round although he highly doubted, he would come out victorious this time. He could heal from almost anything but it required him to have sufficient energy and right now he was running a bit low with all the bullet holes in his body and mostly his healing factor did not take away the pain.
Five armored vehicles came to a halt a few meters away from himself, the doors opened allowing for agents to swarm out of the vehicles. The agents before him were obviously different from the ones who he went up against earlier, for starters these men weren’t in suits but in full body armor as well as armed with more heavy fire power. The armor wouldn’t stop Eric from reaping their lives but it would definitely require more effort and energy.
As Eric was deep in his thoughts thinking of how he was going to deal with the problem before himself when, the agents before him parted as though the read sea allowing for another agent to come forward. The man was dressed in similar armor to the other agents surrounding him but from the mannerism which he carried himself it wasn’t difficult to deduce he carried an important role.
Agent: “X-1, someone would like to talk with you.”
Eric felt angry at being called that but just as he was about to speak about that he saw the face which had popped up on the screen in the agent’s hand.
Professor: “hello X-1, it’s nice to see you after so long, look how big you’ve gotten.”
The tone in which the professor spoke sent shivers down Eric’s spine, he clenched his jaw watching the figure on screen. The man responsible for his nightmares including the scars which couldn’t heal because Eric wouldn’t allow them too, the man who took everything away from him.

Professor: “why so silent? After so many years I would have thought you would have a lot to say. Oh, did you like the gifts I sent you… from the bodies on the ground I’d like to think yes.”
Eric: “where is she?”
Eric interrupted the professor who was rambling on screen. The professor was silent for a moment before breaking out into a smile.
Professor: “well you heard the man.”
The agent holding on to the screen turned to another agent giving them a signal, the agent nodded back and headed into a vehicle coming back with a bruised and battered Elise who was barely conscious. Eric seeing her wanted to rush to her but the guns at him managed to bring him back to his senses.
Professor: “as you can see, I kept my word, now the only question is my boy, will you?”
Eric was now in a dilemma, if he managed to get her and attempted to flee, the men would fire and although he would make it would Elise? Luckily, he wasn’t stuck in his dilemma for long, the sound of an engine was heard and turning to have a look behind him Valerie had arrived taking of her helmet she stood by Eric drawing her handguns out and ready for battle.
Valerie: “sorry I’m late there was a lot of chaos and detours.”
The professor took a good long look at her suit before speaking up once more.
Professor: “The E.V.O, I knew you must have had friends when you managed to escape my eyes in this place but just assumed you found more of your kind. How unfortunate it’s none other than the E.V.O.”
Valerie: “turn yourself in now Professor and you might just get to keep your life.”
Professor: “aah, there’s that arrogance all E.V.O agents are known for. Such a shame though this isn’t Africa and your power here is limited, that is if you have any power at all.”
Valarie was getting more and more annoyed as she looked at the smug face of the man before her, when Eric leaned in.
Eric: “I need you to take Elise out of here and to her daughter.”
Valerie: “I’m not leaving you behind, I have my orders and that is to help you.”
Eric: “And this is helping me, you and I can probably survive once this battle breaks out, but Elise can’t. Please just get her out of here.”
Valerie looked into his eyes seeing his determination before sighing and lowering her guns. Eric whispered a small thank you before focusing back on the agents who still had theirs gun aimed at him.
Eric: “release her and let them go, I’ll come with you."

Agros de Mortis
Are things ever so crystal clear in life, those of us with experience know that it can be considered a blessing to have such a straight forward path in life. Sometimes things go right, sometimes something occurs that was simply never imagined. Sometimes life seems to flow so quickly but sometimes it just seems stuck, cursed to repeat itself. Cycles upon cycles we see around us, but perhaps in only a moment things change. Can this be stopped or do we even want it to be stopped? Are things always as evil as they seem, or are they so similar that we find it painful. Come visit this little spot and decide for yourself what you interpret this is... _________________________________________________ This fiction is a mix of many things and for simplicity sake is the story of one man's rise to power in a fashion fit be called a demon lord. Ever read all those novels where you get a here is this bad guy we called you here to go deal with by the power of our god so here is some magic and training go kill em. Here is the other side's view of their rise to power in a fashion that perhaps seems evil, perhaps not. Is our MC truly that evil or is he simply following what he feels like is best for him, who is to say that he is truly a blight aganist the gods for surely it is not so simple in life. This will have some elements of dungeon building but it takes mostly a back seat to things as a background thing, a weak to strong theme well yeah but it won't really be personal power since we are doing what is essentially nation building. Don't worry there will be no romance as a main theme, if you find any it is unintentional or simply a very minor element overall, hopefully won't be any of the social/relationship gender issues from last time for those that read my first ficiton since that really is not what I want the story to be about. Progress in story is a bit of a mix of fast and slow I felt overall for the story, time skips were short and things piled up quickly then calmed down before building up again. Not sure how I did with characterizing and writing some concepts but at least I wanted people to think a little. Some attempt to keep things realistic to a degree considering you know magic since I wanted a bit more depth to things. Come check out the story and decide for yourself how you feel about some things.
