《System Holders》Chapter 1

Jack was strolling through the store in hopes of finding the specific black notebook he wanted for his progression into College. He was excited yet nervous as he always found it difficult to meet and speak to new people, but little did he know college was off the tables.
"Hmmm. I can't figure out where the notebook is" Jack exclaimed looking defeated. He said whatever and left the store to go back home, and the faces of his family were all twisted.
Because Jack was in public he doesn't like bringing his phone out, so because of that he missed the emergency text sent to every civilian in England, aswell as missing his parents phone calls. He missed all 20 of them.
"How many times do I need to tell you to answer your phone you little shit? Why do you never listen to us?" Jack's Dad (Matt) grunted whilst putting his son in a headlock.
"I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I was out in public, but it doesn't matter I'm home now so get off me you old man!". Jack slowly weasled himself out the headlock and fixed his hair.
"Huhh? Say that again I dare you". His dad raising his hand making Jack flinch. Matt then burst out laughing at his son for flinching.
"Love stop being so irritating, this is important". Jill said in a decisive manner.
"In London, and across the world frankly these towers have sprouted out of nowhere, news outlets are claiming it to be an alien invasion, however on the towers there is a time frame. I started counting down from an hour and there's currently 10 minutes to go". For some reason his Mother is beyond calm in this situation which is completely out of the blue.
"Why is she being so normal about this? Isn't it time to freak out". Jack whispered to Adam.

"Nah, apparently it's under control. Mum said she got told something and everything seems to be fine". Adam stated looking at Jack.
"Anyways why the fuck did you take so long?" Adam said staring into Jack's soul.
"I was out looking for the black notebook that I wanted, I couldn't see it on amazon so I went to different stores". Jack pleaded, feeling like he's being interrogated by everyone.
Reality started to kick in. He looked at his family, and realised he wasn't raised in a normal household. These are a bunch of weirdos. Nobody seems to care about these towers nor do they seem phased. For some reason our childhood dog Max (Lhasa Apso) looks more worried. Sure, it's understandable that Carl the brat who never cared about anything wouldn't be phased. But Adam and my Dad? This isn't sane (perspective of Jack in this paragraph).
"10 seconds..."
Jack and even Matt started to profusely sweat. They were staring at their Television in absolute silence. Honestly, Jack had thoughts of being murdered by aliens when the countdown went to zero.
"Goodluck in the Tutorial Tower! Systems have been installed to over half the population". The cute voice rang out in everyones ears. It didn't come from live broadcast on the television, it came directly into their ears.
"Hello Jack, please give me a name, from now on I am your Informatant System starting from today". Jack looked around and the voice seemingly came from the floating blue orb".
I was in complete shock, I told it what does he want from me and he continued to utter the same phrase.
"Um, I'll name you Zeon".
Jack shuddered thinking that sounds too edgy.
"Um actually I change my mi-"
"I am Zeon. from today, I will be your Informatant System".

Jack inwardly cursed.
jack left Zeon to himself and looked as his family. Everyone else seemed to have a System next to them aswell. Adam had a European Robin next to him. Carl had a black ball with spikes coming out from it. Jill had a blue ribbon, whilst Matt had a singular eye with white pupils.
For some reason, Jack was actually glad this was the outcome, he was no longer worried as he wasn't fearful of his life.
Jack shifted his gaze at Zeon. "Why do you keep referring to yourself as an Informatant System? Are there different types?". Because Jack wasn't as dumb as he seemed he assumed Informatant System meant he can extract information about the situation.
"Yes. There are 5 types in total. Informatant which assists via answering questions. Mentalist, who gain more knowledge and better memory, and they also seem to have a better understanding of magic at a deeper level. Weaponist who gain skills like weapon proficiency straight away. Physicalist who gain physical strength in either their whole body or only in certain parts. Finally, non combatants who are occupations that tend to focus on crafting for fighting system holders. Looking around the room. It seems that your Mother has a mentalist system, both your Dad and older Brother (Adam) has a physicalist system, and lastly your younger brother (Carl) has a weaponist system. I recommend you stick with your family as this is a well rounded team, especially with the addition with your younger brother due to weaponists being quite rare".
Jack froze for a minute and it looked like he was lagging in real life to process the mass information he was given. He looked at his family and they were all staring at him.
"Based on the minimal of information my system gave me, it seems like you're 'leader' for now". Matt muttered feeling his role as a Dad diminish.
"Are you all aware of what your system is". Jack stated with confidence.
As he looked around the room everyone nodded their heads. Jack also nodded his head in accordance to this.
"Zeon, what else do systems do?".
"We allow you to open up a status window which shows your class, class advancements, the type of system you have, which level it is and how what skills you have, both inherented and normal skills that you learn either through your class or experiences. Also may I add that you're all handling this super well to say all six of you now have systems. Many people are power hungry and would instantly fight to see who was stronger".
"Wait what do you mean six? There are only five of us". Since everyone else can hear Zeon, they all wore confused expressions too.
"Well, your dog has a system too".
Everyones gazes went towards Max, the 8 year old Lhasa Apso, in complete shock. Max had no idea what they were talking about so he just tilted his head.
