《A Tale of Two - Beeduo》Fun Center

Tubbo's POV:
I was sad that Ranboo was paying for everything. It was so nice of him, too nice. It felt as though I were taking advantage of him, even though I wasn't. I just felt bad. Honestly, I would be worried for him to date anyone other than me. People could easily use him and he wouldn't even know it. I wouldn't do that, though. I'll just have to make sure that I make him mine before anyone else can.
"Look, Tubbo! We're here." Ranboo pointed as I lifted my head from his back and peeked around him so that I could see.
"AGGHH!! I'M SO EXCITED!!" I let go of his hand and raced over to the gate, waiting by it so that Ranboo could pay.
"Haha. Me too, Tubbo." He handed the worker some money and he let us through the gate.
I began looking around the fun center, trying to decide what to do first.
"Alright, Tubbo. Where to, first?" Ranboo placed his hand on my shoulder as we walked.
"I DON'T EVEN KNOW! THIS PLACE LOOKS AWESOME!!"
Ranboo giggled. He didn't seem nearly as excited as I was, but I could tell that he was happy to be there.
"Well, do wanna ride the bumper carts or something, or play a game?" Ranboo questioned, looking down at me.
"Hmm.. I think I wanna play a game first. We can save the fun bumper carts for last!" I said as I grasped onto Ranboo's hand. It took him by surprise and he made a shocked face. Then he rubbed it lightly to signal that he liked it. I knew he would, but I couldn't help but smile really big.
"Haha. Ok Tubbo." He spoke in a lower than usual voice.
"I- wait, I didn't even ask what you wanted! Now I feel bad." I frowned. "You can pick the next thing we do. We'll take turns!" I smiled a small smile, because I still felt bad that I was trying to chose everything we did.

"No, Tubbo. I wanna do whatever you want to." He smiled, a smile that I could see through his mask. Warmth filled my face.
"I- b-but, Ranboo-"
"Tubbo," Ranboo cut me off. "I'll have fun no matter what we do. As long as it's with you." He spoke in a serious tone, looking down into my eyes.
I looked down and put my hands over my face to cover up how red I was. He makes me so easily flustered, and I don't know how.
"What's wrong??" Ranboo removed one of my hands from my face and crouched down to get a better view of my expression.
"N-Nothing, Boo. Don't worry about it.." I rubbed the back of my neck.
"Oh, now look who isn't being open."Ranboo stood up, clearly disappointed
"It's like you said.. Some things are better left unsaid so that they don't cause issues..." I continued to look down, repeating what he'd told me awhile before.
Ranboo just walked forward. I assumed he didn't really want me to follow him, so I didn't. But he stopped and reached out his hand behind him, making a 'grabby hand' motion. Still not looking back at me, just down.
I scurried up to him and held hand, and we both started walking through the fun center.
There was a long, awkward moment of silence.
"Which game do you wanna play first?" Ranboo finally spoke.
"I- uhm.. I really don't know, actually." I said quietly, still somewhat nervous about our small argument. I don't know why I held onto it, though.
"Tubbo, listen to me." Ranboo let go of my hand and brought it up to my shoulder, looking straight at me. He pulled his mask down with his other hand. "Don't be nervous to talk to me.. I know I kind of overreacted, but it's just because I care a lot about you. And I now know why you behaved the same way earlier. It's because we care for each other. So lets not let our arguments take over. I'll let it go if you do."

He formed a warm, calm smile that made my anxiousness disappear.
I must've been staring in mesmerization for too long, because he let go of my shoulder and quickly looked away. It was clear that he was uncomfortable.
"Sorry about that.. It's hard not to stare when you look so gorgeous." I flirted.
"Yeah, yeah." He rolled his eyes.
"I know that sounded like a joke, but I mean it."
"..Ok, Tubbo. Thanks, then." He spoke quietly, as if in disbelief. I felt somewhat offended about that.
"NOW LETS GO PLAY SOME GAMES!" I shouted and took hold of his hand again, racing to the game area.
Ranboo didn't say anything. He just laughed and continued to follow me, without a choice due to the fact that I had a strong grip on his hand.
We played games for hours. Laughing, and screaming. Complaining, and bragging. Overall just having an amazing time with each other. Enjoying one another's presence.
We also spent about an hour on the bumper carts. A couple rounds in the same cart, and a couple rounds in separate carts.
It amazed me how competitive we both were the whole time, but we could just laugh it off afterward.
We each got a hot dog and some cotton candy before finally heading out.
It was around 6pm when we left. We decided to go sit at the park for awhile.
We sat on a park bench near the back of the park, where the road was. With woods behind us.
We ate our food in silence. I was starting to feel strange because I'm not used to staying quiet for long periods of time.
We both finished our food and sat there for a minute, before Ranboo stood up from the bench.
"We should head back now. There's school tomorrow, you know? We'll head back to my place." Ranboo turned to me, and I stood up as well.
As he started walking, I grabbed his hand and pulled him back, slightly.
"I- Ranboo.." I looked up at the tall man.
"Yeah?" Ranboo seemed sort of concerned, but more so confused.
"I- Uhm.." I stuttered.
I held my hands together behind my back and stood up on my tippy toes, quickly kissing Ranboo on the cheek before returning to my normal height.
I looked down in embarrassment, and also because I was nervous and scared.
"Uh- Th-Thank you for today. I-I had a lot of fun hanging out with you." I continued to face downward, squeezing my eyes shut.
Ranboo seemed to have a loss of words.
There was a long break of nothing.. but silence..
"I-I'm really really sorry, Ranboo! I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable. It's just so hard to hold myself when-" I spoke a million miles an hour before Ranboo cute me off.
He didn't cut me off by talking.
He said nothing at all.
He quickly placed his hand behind my head and pulled me in.
It wasn't a hug, like any other time.
It was a kiss.
A long, gentle kiss.
And I kissed him back.

CW: Contains mildly graphic scenes of violence/death, topics of unwanted pregnancy/abortion, scientific experimentation on sapient beings, depression/suicide, grief, and trauma. The tone of this fiction is often dark and distinctly dystopian in lighter shades of Margaret Atwood, though where there is darkness there is always hope and light. On Hiatus Until September When the School Year Begins and Mom This story takes a considerable amount of time and mental energy to complete. I thought I had enough backlog and time to post it as a serial while COVID kept my child home from school, but it turns out while I can quickly write other pieces, I cannot produce the quality I need with this one at an acceptable rate. We'll resume in September when my days are much freer. Thank you for your patience and stay tuned for a different storytelling romp more suited for a serial platform in the meantime.
