Kai's POV

"Here we go", I thought as I was doing my hair in the mirror

'There's a 90 percent chance she won't talk to us. You realize that', My wolf said

"Shut it", I said and threw a black V-neck on

Kat walked in my room

"She's in the kitchen. You better not blow this dumb*ss. Don't freak her out.", she said and leaned against the door frame

"Why does everyone keep saying I'm gonna blow this. I'm not". I say

I leave and she follows. I looked over the railing and she was making lunch. Most of the pack eats breakfast together than during lunch they hunt, then some show up for supper and some don't. I walk up to the bar

"Hey", I say and sit down on the bar stool

She looks around then at me. She gave a small smile. She looked back down at the carrots she was shredding.

"I'm Kai", I say

She doesn't look up "I'm Amara"

"Nice to meet you", I say

She stays quiet and puts the carrots in a bowl.

"What are you making", I ask

"Carrot cake", she says and stirs them with the batter

"You like Carrot cake", I asked

"It's OK. Kat wanted it", she says

She started chopping nuts. She was chopping really fast.

"Damn", she said

I looked at her hand and she was bleeding. I ran over and grabbed the first aid. I brought it over and took her hand. I wrapped her finger in a bandage.

I just realized how close I was to her. She smelt so good, like chocolate. She looked up at me and I took her features in. Her eyes have little silver flecks in them. Her dark brown hair had a strip of light brown in it. She was perfect

"Thanks", she smiled

She put the batter in a pan and put in the oven and set the timer. She went upstairs.

"She did talk to us", I laugh at my wolf

"Shut it and clean her mess up", my wolf smiled

I cleaned her dishes up

Amara's POV

I was shredding carrots and Kai came down and sat by the bar

"Shit", I thought

He started to talk to me and I had to tune him out. He asked my name and I told him. I was chopping nuts too fast because I was scared, so of course I had to cut myself to get out of this. He rushed over with a first aid and wrapped it.

He was to close. But it felt perfect. He just stared at me, I felt like a fish in a bowl. His eyes are so green. I felt this feeling, I don't know what it was, it was new. I put the batter in the pan, I set a timer and put it in the oven. I ran upstairs.

"Kat, I need your help", I said as I barged in her room

Yes I'm comfortable around her.
