Amara's POV

"Um, Kai. Who's that person sleeping on the couch", she said coming into my office.

"Now that your awake, we need to talk. Come on", he said and we headed downstairs

"Get up jackass", Kai yelled

The man jerked away and fell off the couch. I slowly went behind Kai, as if to use him as a shield

"Why are you hiding from me, dear mate", the guy said his softening

I went further behind Kai and gripped his grey shirt

Kai turned around and grabbed my arms carefully

"Do you feel anything when you look at him", he said softly searching my eyes

I peeked around Kai and stared at those brown eyes, and the stranger half smiled. I jerked back to face Kai. I shook my head and hugged him, scared. He put his face in the crook of my neck.

The man coughed

Kai broke it and turned around to face him and I hid behind him.

"She's not your mate", Kai said

My eyes got huge

"WHAT", I screeched

Kai turned around to face me once again

"We think you may have two mates. Well we thought, but seeing as you have no feeling but fear for him.", Kai trailed off

"I don't want two mates", I started

"You don't, you have me", Kai said

"What, so I become mate less", the guy said

"No. There is someone out there for you. It's just not Amara", Kai said

"Well, I'll head back home", he said and started to leave

"Do I know you", I asked

"I don't think so", he said getting nervous

"I swore I've seen you before. With my brother", I said and gulped

"I don't know who you he is"

"Are you sure", I said coming out from behind Kai

"Yeah"

"OK", I said not believing him

"Well, I should be on my way", he said and started walking quickly to the door

"Nate", I burst

He froze and turned around

"You're Nate", I yelped

"You know him", Kai asked

I slowly nodded

"Yes, I'm Nate", He sighed

"What are you here", Kai asked

"To take Amara home", he smirked and lunged at me.
