XD was a weird creature. They could appear in any form. It just depended on how you saw them in your mind. XD could appear as your best friend or your worst enemy. Or even something completely incomprehensible.
But for M/n, he was a large being. Maybe twelve (365.76 cm) feet tall? Two sets of wings, two sets of arms and hands, a human body wrapped in a green cloak. And his head was just a floating ball with a jagged XD carved in it.
"Oh, come on now", XD crooned, "Don't be like that," they circled M/n, running a hand over his back. M/n pursed his lip and brushed it off, scoffing.
"Again, what do you want XD? And what the hell was that thing you did with your voice?" M/n asked, and the god tilted his head slightly. "Oh, that?" XD said, their head rotating on a swivel, "That was just to scare those kids off."
"I'll never get over how you can do that," M/n said, referring to the head swivel. "It's not like you never seen me do it before," XD shot back.
M/n leaning his cheek against his palm and smiled, "You've become a lot sassier since I last saw you."
XD put their two pointer fingers together. Their moods could change with a drop of a dime. "I made a deal with someone who would teach me to be more like yo-, more like a human," XD said.
"Who in their right mind would do that?" M/n snorted, taking an apple out of his inventory and biting a chunk out of it.
"George", XD admitted, and M/n could see an image of the mushroom man burning in XDs' 'eyes'. "I said in their right mind," M/n snorted, tossing his apple in the air before taking another bite, "And you're ignoring my question, XD. Why are you here? You haven't visited me in ages."
XD had the audacity to look sheepish, "I figured that you wouldn't want to see me. After what I did."
M/n paused, looking down at his finished apple core. He placed it into his inventory and sighed. "It's in the past, XD. There's nothing that can be done about it now." M/n said, absentmindedly running his fingers over his shoulder.

"Do you miss them?" XD asked, floating around M/n and placing a hand on his spine. M/n waved his hand, "Sometimes, but you learn to live without em."
XD blinked, or something like blinking. "You couldn't live without that little, blue, ghost man. You weren't supposed to get him. He was supposed to pass on you know?"
"I'm sure Kristen will forgive me", M/n said, untying his braid, letting his hair flow down, "It's not like she doesn't owe me. I helped her meet her damn husband, to begin with."
"Meet", XD said, making quotation marks in the air, "She literally just gave you the description of her ideal man, and you made him."
M/n gave a sharp point at XD, "Philza is still one of my best creations to date, fight me."
"He's almost as old as we are!" XD protested, then paused, "How old are you again? I know you're just a smidgen younger than me, but I'm not exactly sure."
"Y'know, Dream asked me a similar question earlier," M/n said, "But I think I'm about..." he paused, counting on his fingers, "I think I'm about one hundred thirty-two? Give or take a few years."
"Gods your old", XD laughed.
M/n snorted, "You're one to talk!"
The two of them sat there in comfortable silence.
.
.
.
"Why'd you do it?" XD asked suddenly, but M/n didn't even have to ask what he was talking about.
"You can't give them life, M/n", hissed a smaller version of DreamXD. They stood angrily in front of a smaller version of M/n. A tall woman in a black dress stood off to the side. Along with another entity, almost a mini version of XD.
It had been nearly twenty years since M/n had first arrived in the Overworld.
XD was known to be one of the more argumentative gods. And M/n, even though he wasn't a god, was damn close. Both were equally stubborn, but M/n was more ferocious.
"Why?" Younger M/n asked, holding a clay doll, "Give me one good reason."
"They're dangerous", XD argued, but even he could see that M/n wouldn't budge. "And so are we!" M/n barked back, "If they step out of line you can eliminate them", M/n tried to bargain, but XD refused.

M/n hissed and ran a hand through his hair, his wings puffing up. Damn it. The worlds needed players. Mobs and monsters ruled the land, terrorizing everything that lived there. Villagers were terrified to leave their houses, they were going to starve themselves.
All while the gods were sitting in their Hall above everything else, doing nothing.
He brushed his fingers against his feathers and froze. He didn't need XDs permission. M/n glanced around him. XD was talking to his mini version, looking frustrated. Kristen, Death, caught his eye.
She glanced at the two talking and gave M/n a sharp nod. M/n flicked his hand slightly to his left and walked in said direction, entering a nearby room. A few minutes later, Kristen entered the same room and closed the door.
"So", she said, "What are we going to do?"
"You", M/n said, "Are going to create any clay creation you wish. As will I. Then, I will give them life and set them free. Give them instructions on how to harvest supplies, and leave the rest to them."
Kristen opened her mouth, but M/n shook his head. "Don't worry", he said, "If XD finds out, I will take the blame. All of it. By the way, Kristen, what is your idea of a perfect man?"
She paused, "Um, I've never thought about it. Kind, funny, and someone who loves me. Why?"
M/n pursed his lip, trying to hide a smile. "Ok."
Kristen narrowed her eyes in suspicion, "Why?"
"Oh, no reason", M/n said, already imagining the clay figurine he was going to make, "Even the goddess of death gets lonely sometimes." Kristen stared for a good second before her eyes widened.
"Don't you dare."
M/n only gave her the peace-out sign before disappearing.
"M/N!!"
He snickered as he reappeared in his room.
'Now, he thought, staring at a shelf full of clay chunks, 'Who to make first?'
How foolish he was then.
-TIMESKIP-
M/n had released the last, now living, player when the clouds started to darken and flash with lightning.
He grit his teeth and hissed. This was gonna be bad.
M/n entered the Hall and was instantly met with the enraged face of XD. "WHAT DID YOU DO?!" XD bellowed, and M/n shrunk in on himself a tiny bit. "I set out players," M/n said, and XD looked like he was going to explode.
"I distinctly remember telling you not to", XD said, visibly trying to reel in his anger. "Well, I didn't listen", M/n stated calmly. "Obviously", XD growled, "I have never met someone so blatantly ignorant of the rules, so willing to admonish everything that I've set up."
"I am perfectly aware of the rules", M/n stated, "I just chose to ignore them."
XD took a deep inhale through his nose, two of his hands pressed together in front of his 'mouth'. Letting it out, XD spoke slowly. "You do know the consequences, right?"
M/n stared at the floor, his fists clenched, "Yes."
"Get in the cell", XD whispered, tapping his foot on the floor. The floor open with a creak, and M/n pursed his lip and entered. One of the biggest mistakes of his life.
Arms and legs shackled.
Wings sliced off.
Days, months, years could have passed, and M/n wouldn't have been able to tell the difference. XD, being the sadistic being he was, had scrambled M/n's memories, so much so that even XD couldn't tell what was real.
He was only let out when he made a promise.
"Do you swear to never create another player as long as this world exists?"
"... Yes".
M/n came out of his memories and stared at XD. He smiled slightly, "Spite." XD tilted his head, "Just spite?" M/n nodded, "It's a very powerful emotion."
XD thought for a moment, "Do you want your wings back?" He said, and M/n looked at him like he had grown another head, which was entirely possible. "What?"
"I can grant wishes, as you know. I gave a pigman a bell about an hour ago." XD explained, but M/n shook his head hard. "No, no. I don't want my wings back. As much as I loved them, those fuckers made it hard to fit into clothes. But I do want something."
XD waved his hand for M/n to continue.
"I want a body for Ghostbur."

He genuinely is a good guy—too bad nobody believes him. Trying to discover his place in the world, Jerry will live great adventures. He will make friends, each unique in their own way, and together, they will travel through a variety of striking environments; from a tiny village, to the land of the dead, to a jolly archipelago, to a kingdom on a beanstalk.
