Extra: oh god my first request, hope you like it, bae!
I sigh, waiting in the village for what seemed like the millionth time. Every week, Sapnap had said, every week would he meet me here. But then a year ago, he always left a message for you with a local, always the same. Oh hey, sorry (Y/N) but I can't make it today, out with the Dream Team again, next week for sure though, okay?
Although to his credit. He showed up. Sometimes. Late. And even then it was just him saying hi and that he was tired from his event and needed sleep. You always let him. Always. What kind of best friend would you be if you wouldn't? And, sometimes. When you were lucky, he stayed to talk for a while! But. He always seemed content to ramble on about his new life. What he had been doing, that Dream had done this, or how George had done that. I don't remember the last time he had asked how I was doing. And it hurt, sure. But I wasn't going to tell him.
Or, I hadn't planned on it.
I was well aware of my feelings for the ravenette, but I knew that those feelings hurt me more than they made me feel good and warm. And so, slowly. I stopped showing up. I started with writing letters, explaining why I wasn't there. He didn't come to visit me. He didn't write back. The villagers assured me he had received them so I knew he had read them. And. Then I realised how pointless it was.
I was chasing after a man who was running from me.
I. I had always thought we would be inseparable. Soulmates! He used to say that. Say that he couldn't live without me in his life.
I wish I had realised what a liar he was sooner.
It would have saved me so much heartache.

With this knowledge in mind, I stopped writing letters. No visits from him then, either. Eventually, I got tired of it. If he really wants to see me after this? He can put in the bloody effort.
°2ND POV°
And you did move. Far away from him. You found a place you loved, rebuilding your little cottage surrounded by spruce wood and snow. You had brought a few of your favourite saplings. Nurturing them to grow so you could use their wood and begin the cycle again.
Soon enough years had passed without visits from your so-called "best friend". Your "soulmate". And despite all that time that had passed. You couldnt help but remember him in moments where you felt alone. Cuddling your fox which you had affectionately named Kelp, as he seemed to always steal it from you.
You were surprised, to say the least, when you learnt of a neighbour. You could see their house in the distance. It wasnt too far off. A pig, no, a piglin? You couldnt quite tell from over where you were. So you went to visit him. You found that the pig-like man and yourself shared some views, as he talked to you about his reasons for being out here, and in turn you told him your own reasons. You eventually decided you trust this man with your life, and Kelps, and so you showed him to your house. Introducing him and Kelp, who was certainly afraid at first, but soon enough got used to the pig. It was nice to finally have a friend, and to meet his friends without him seeming to forget about you. It was nice.
Weeks passed, and one day you were chatting with Tommy while waiting for the pig, he had asked you to help him move his dogs around, when you hear the door open, you draw your sword, armour already on, ready to defend the blonde kid when you heard his voice.
"Uh, hey, I'm looking for Techno? I need to collect something from him for Dream." He said, nonchalantly. Did he really not recognise you? You suppose you have changed a lot since you last met him. Your hair, your clothes, hell, you even wore armour now. Not that he cares, you're sure. You turned around, looking the man you knew so very well up and down. He had barely changed. Maybe a few more scars. And despite everything that had gone down between you two, your heart swooned.

"He isn't here. I suggest you come back another day" you say, voice cold and sharp, Tommy watched you, confused. You hadn't been like that even moments before.
"Oh uh, right. Sorry" and he turned to leave, figures. Until he turned back.
"Hey, have we met before? You seem like, really familiar" and you pause. That stung. He had really forgotten you, hadn't he?
"No, Sapnap. We have not met before." You lie smoothly, watching his face scrunch up in confusion, it was so cute, fuck. All of your repressed feelings over the years were hitting you like a truck. It hurt, it hurt so much. But there he was! He finally found you! But he wasnt looking for you. Had he ever looked for you?
"Then how do you know my name? I for sure didn't tell you" he asked, watching you suspiciously. You blink, glance at Tommy and shrug. Starting to grow nervous.
"Uhhh, lucky guess?" You try. Before he cuts you off.
"Who are you?" Again, that stung. Really? Fine. If he wanted a reminder. He could have one.
"Really, Sapnap? Its been 3 years! 3! And youve already forgotten about me? So much for being best friends, huh? Soulmates right? God im so sick of you. I thought about you every single day! Hoping you'd come looking for me after i stopped meeting you at the village, after i moved because i wanted at least some of your attention! But i never got it! So i give up!" A beat, a pause, you ignore the tears that come to your eyes.
"...(Y/N)?" Sapnap asks tentatively.
"Well! It took you long enough! Got any explanations for yourself?" You glared
"I, i was busy! You know th-" you cut him off.
"Oh i know! You were always so fucking busy with your new friends, you never had any time for me!" Your tears were salty and warm.
"I met up with you!" He cried, trying to defend himself.
"Oh really? Oh! You mean the times when you just talked about yourself? Never a 'how are you, (Y/N)?' Or maybe you mean the times when you told me you were too tired to hang out after showing up late, and left immidiately after! Fuck, how did i put up with that?" You're grasping the swords hilt tightly. You alwaysleft your tools at your belt. Easy access if you should ever need them. You felt Tommy try to get your attention, you could tell he was confused.
"I.. (Y/N), you. You should have told me! I could've. I could've done better!" He tried trying to keep you with him.
"I loved you so much, (Y/N), please, let me do something, anything, to make up for it!" You pause. Anything?
"Anything, huh?" You think about it. How could you be so sure he wouldn't keep hurting you if to became his friend again?
"Leave your friends. Dream and George, or whatever their names are. Choose me over them, for once" you decided.
"I. Anything but that, please. I love you!" You pause. He loved you? You loved him. You knew that. But. He had hurt you so many times before. You just. Don't know if you can trust him anymore. You sigh, messing up Tommys hair. You'd talk to him and Techno later. They knew where you lived if they needed you.
"You love me?... well. You're three years too late" and with that, you leave. Disappearing into the swirling snowstorm outside. Gone from their views.
