-Emma POV-

The blood worked, but it was getting harder and harder for the vampires to control their thirst.

"Emma" said Jasper. "I need you to stay away"

Alice held my hand while Lewis stood in front of her.

"Jasper, you're not going to hurt her" said Alice.

"I'm not risking it, Alice" he said. "I hurt her because of my thirst once, I will not make that mistake again"

"Jazz" I said and stepped closer, but he took a step back.

"Stay back, Emma. I don't want to hurt you" he said.

"You won't" I said. "I trust you" I touched his face and I felt him stiffen up.

"Emma, please" he whispered.

"Jasper, look at me" I said and he opened his eyes, they were so dark. "I am not going anywhere. We're partners now, aren't we? We help each other, no matter how hard or dangerous it may seem"

I felt him relax a little bit.

"I love you" I whispered. "So I'm staying right here, by your side"

He looked at the engagement ring he gave me and I softly kissed his lips.

Bella could deliver any moment...

Carlisle, Esme and Emmett were going to go hunting, so that Carlisle would be strong for delivery day...

I was laughing at the names Bella chose for the baby.

"Can't we come up with something just a little more classic?" asked Rosalie.

Jacob came back from distracting the pack.

"Hey" said Bella and we helped her up. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, it's not like I am the one carrying a demon" said Jacob.

"This is pretty important, Bella" said Rosalie. "Why don't you tell Jacob what you've decided?"

I began to laugh.

"What now?" asked Jacob.

"Rose is trying to talk Bella out of her baby names" I said.

"She hates them" said Bella.

"Well, then I am on your side no matter what you picked" said Jacob.

"Say that again when you hear them" I said.

"They're not that bad" said Bella. "If it's a boy, EJ. Edward Jacob"

"Okay, fine, that one's not awful" said Rosalie. "Why don't you tell him the girl's name?"

"I was playing around with our moms' names. René and Esme" said Bella. "And I was thinking... Renesmee"

"Renesmee" repeated Jacob.

"Too weird?" asked Bella.

"Ehm..." said Jacob.

"No, that's not too weird" said Edward. "It's beautiful. And it's unique, which certainly fits the situation. I like Renesmee"

"I'm fine with it" I said. "As long as the middle name is Emma"

Bella rolled with her eyes but she smiled anyway.

Rose took the last bit of the blood and gave it to Bella.

"He likes it" said Bella.

But when she tried to grab it, it fell on the floor. She broke some ribs when she tried to catch it and she fell on her knees...

Edward barely made it in time to catch her head before falling on the ground.

My eyes were glowing...

"She's in labour" I whispered.

"Emma, pass the morphine" said Edward and I gave him the morphine.

"Carlisle said the placenta must have detached" said Alice, who was talking on the phone with Carlisle. "He's coming as fast as he can, but..."

"We'll have to do it" said Rosalie, she took up the scapple.

"Rose! Let the morphine spread" said Edward.

"There's no time, he's dying" said Rosalie.

"Get him out now!" shouted Bella.

"Bells, focus on me, okay" I said when Rosalie cut her stomach open.

Bella was screaming...

"Rosalie, don't!" I shouted when I noticed she was about to lose control.

"Alice! Get her out of here!" shouted Edward.

Alice wasn't strong enough so I went to help her.

"Rose, calm down" I said and she slowly got control back.

My eyes wouldn't stop glowing, I could feel Bella dying...

But I could also feel the baby being born.

But when I felt Bella die... my heart broke...

"Emma? Darling?" Jasper took my face in his hands. "Darling, look at me"

"Jasper" I whispered. "Don't be anywhere near me right now"

"I'm not going anywhere" he whispered. "We're partners, you told me that"

I wanted to scream...

"Alice! Jasper! Emma! Lewis!" I heard Edward shout.

We ran outside and faced the wolves.

"We're outnumbered" said Jasper.

"By a lot" said Alice.

"I won't let them hurt my family" said Edward.

"Well, let's even the odds for a while. Cover your ears" I said to the vampires and I screamed.

The wolves who were close to me fell backwards and were screaming out in pain.

Paul went for me from the side, he had managed to dodge my scream.

"Emma!" Jasper pushed him away from me and I saw Jared coming after Jasper. But I used my telekinesis to keep him away.

"I'm fine! Don't worry about me!" I shouted to Jasper.

Luckily for us, Emmett, Carlisle and Esme came back.

Even Seth and Leah were helping us.

I kept throwing wolves back and dodging their attacks.

I mentally scolded Jasper again for trying to be everywhere at once.

But soon, we were driven back.

"Stop!" shouted Jacob and landed in front of us. "It's over! If you kill her, you kill me"

When Sam attack Jacob, Jacob shifted and the wolves took a few steps back.

"Jacob imprinted" said Edward.

'Oh, the irony'

"They can't hurt her. Whoever a wolf imprints on can't be harmed. It's their most absolute law" he said.

Slowly the wolves left and we were safe... for now...

Jasper and the others went hunting, while I looked after Renesmee.

And she was quite the biter. She bit me like 3 times.

But I liked her, she had Bella's eyes.

"Okay, you can give her back" said Rosalie and I saw her.

"Do I have to?" I pouted.

"Yes" said Rosalie and she took Renesmee in her arms.

Jasper's eyes were golden again and he smiled at me.

He kissed me softly and hugged me.

"How is Bella?" he asked.

"Still not moving..." I whispered. "But... something is happening to her, I can feel it"

"Carlisle said that it was the morphine" he said.

"Still... I wish she didn't take this long..." I said.

"Do you want to get Lexa?" he asked and I shook my head.

"Then I'd have to face Charlie, he'll ask about Bella. I... I can't do that right now" I said.

"I could get her, if you want" he said. "You need rest, darling"

"Maybe I'll lay down for a few minutes" I said and he smiled.

I quickly fell asleep on Jasper's bed, and I only woke up when a little dog snuggled under my arm.

"Hey, Lexa" I whispered and fell asleep again.

Bella was slowly looking better... the wounds were healing, her hair got more colour, her face got volume again...

Jasper's hands were on my shoulder while we were waiting for Bella to wake up... when after a few days... she did...
