《Pathetic || Seth Clearwater》Forty three (epilogue)

"Seth, wake up". Seth groaned and pulled Ellis closer to him. Ellis giggled and smoothed back a stray lock of hair behind Seth's ear as the man snored. He let his fingers stroke lovingly down across the skin of Seth's cheek bone and over his lips, admiring the handsome sleeping face of his lover. It had been six years since the hearing with the Volturi and the birth of Nessie.
Seth had grown out his hair. The long inky locks now reaching his shoulder blades. His face had gotten sharper as he finally reached maturity. He had stopped ageing four years ago, not that Ellis ever minded. He thought that Seth was even more attractive now. Ellis had changed too, just not physically. He was more at ease then he had ever been. Content and loved by friends and family. The constant edginess, the anxiety and fear had faded. He didn't need to try and act human anymore, he was truly himself.
Ellis pressed a kiss to the other's forehead, causing the tanned brow to wrinkle. "Seth, Love, wakey wakey". Seth buried his head deeper into Ellis' chest with a grumbling noise.
"No. Not moving". The words were mumbled, voice heavy with sleep and muffled by the duvet. Ellis rolled his eyes fondly and tugged the duvet away. Bared tanned skin and marble limbs were exposed as Ellis threw the duvet to the floor. He was mildly amused to see that the bruises he had left on Seth last night had already healed. Seth's human teeth couldn't mark Ellis back, not that he didn't try. Instead he had left his imprint in Ellis' wild sex crazy hair. The curls particularly mad this morning.
"Come on Seth", Ellis laughed, pressing a flurry of kisses across the top of his grumpy boyfriend's head. "We have class this morning and a flight to catch this evening".

"Who's idea was it to go to college?" Seth moaned.
"Both of ours", Ellis chirped. He rolled the other's larger form on to his back and stood up, carrying him across the bedroom and over to the bathroom. The apartment had been a gift from Carlisle and Esme when the boys had told them about their plans for college. It was a large airy two bedroom with wooden floorboard floors and comfy furnishings. They had decorated the wall of their bed room with a cork board of Polaroid photos.
Edward, Jasper, Ellis and Emmet all wearing crappy Halloween vampire costumes. Their faces contorted in ridiculous expressions. Carlisle and Esme with their arms around each other, smiling at the camera. Various images of Nessie at ranging degrees of development with different family members. A picture of Alice and Rosalie weaving plaits and flowers through both Seth's and Ellis' hair. Bella and Edward posing next to the piano. A Now fully grown Nessie sleeping with her head on Jacob's shoulder, both of them sprawled over the Cullen's couch. Leah, Sue and Seth having a picnic next to Harry clearwater's grave. All holding up their glasses in a toast. And, Ellis' favourites, the original Polaroids of Ellis and Seth in his old bedroom, pulling stupid faces and kissing each other on the cheeks. Ellis smiled at them as they passed through the the bathroom door.
The bathroom was extremely modern, much to Ellis' delight. It had a shower and a bath big enough for the two of them. All black and white tiles and warm lighting. Seth woke up a bit more as Ellis turned on the taps and began filling the tub with water. As it began to fill up, Seth tapped for Ellis to let him go. He went about his morning business as Ellis added scents to the water. If there was one thing which Ellis had really come to appreciate, it was baths. The soothing feel of water and the way the light reflected was enjoyable.

He climbed in after Seth and instantly dunked his head under. The water smelling like orange blossom and bergamot. Seth chuckled as Ellis grinned at him under water, his form all blurry and distorted. After a few minutes Seth was able to coax him back up so that they could actually wash, not just mess around. By the time they had gotten out, they had to rush to dry off and get changed for class. It was the last day before the Christmas holidays and Ellis would not want to be late. They were due to fly back to forks that evening, he didn't want to miss the flight. Alice would chew their ears off.
"I'm so glad we packed last night", Seth muttered as he pulled on his socks. He hopped wildly, almost tripping over the case. Ellis steered him away and helped him tie his shoe laces, already dressed.
"Who was it who wanted to sleep in?" He asked.
Seth scowled. "Why did I have to pick a class for nine in the morning?"
"Because you chose to take photography love", Ellis reminded him as he picked him on the cheek. Seth huffed but couldn't hide his smile. Even now, he was so easy to please. Any affection had Seth cracking. Ellis knew that he wasn't much different.
"Just because you have an extra half an hour", Seth muttered. He followed Ellis out into open space of the rest of the apartment. The kitchen and living room all open plan. He snatched his bag off the coffee table and swung the strap over his shoulder, picking up his camera bag with the other hand.
Ellis snapped his case containing Tall, Dark and Handsome, closed with a click. He smiled up at his mate, watching as Seth twisted his hair back into a ponytail. Both of them were living and studying at a college in New Orleans. The vibrant city colourful and bright. Seth was studying a degree in Photography, while Ellis was doing musical theory. It was their second year and it was safe to say that they loved it. The city was big and crazy enough that the pair could blend in without too much difficulty. Most of Ellis' classes were in the evenings and in dark studios with no windows. They had found that large amounts of opaque creams such as foundations or face paint helped block out the sun from making Ellis' skin glitter. It was just so lucky that on the day they were running late, it was overcast.
Seth passed Ellis his keys and wallet before opening the front door. They stepped out into the cloudy winter air and made their way down to where the car was parked. Seth drove, Ellis singing along to 'Cyanide by Creeper' on kerrang radio. When they pulled up at the university campus, he cut the music off as Seth parked the car.
"Have a good day", Seth smiled as he pulled Ellis into a long deep kiss. "Love you".
Ellis smiled into the kiss. He always savoured the feeling of Seth's warmth against his cold skin. "Love you too. See you later", he replied happily as he pulled away. 'Yes' he thought as he got out of the car and pulled his cello case from the back seat. 'I wouldn't change this for the world'.
