hey
im really sorry about last time
i was a bit of a bitch
thank you for being here
i miss you
Lulu put her phone in her pocket and walked inside the school, definitely aware that some people were giving her some weird looks on her way to her locker.
Why the weird looks? Because she hadn't slept at all for a couple of days and therefore looked like shit. She had been able to cover it up with sunglasses when she was outside but it would have looked suspicious to keep them inside.
"Hey, Lulu!"
Lulu noticed Rue and Elliot a few feet away, recognizing her best friend's voice calling out for her. Rue grimaced at the sight of the girl, "Well, you look like you didn't sleep for days, the fuck."
"That's exactly what happened," Lulu snarked, "But, hey, thanks for the concern. Sup, Elliot."
"Hey, Lulu," he said with a concerned smile.
Lulu walked past them and rolled her eyes when she heard the stomping of Rue's sneakers trailing behind her, "W-What happened? I-I'm sorry, I had a lot to do—"
Lulu stopped in the middle of the hallway to glare at her, "I know when you lie to me, Rue. Now, I'm gonna get to class, I seriously don't wanna talk right now."
She walked away as her phone buzzed in her pocket.
hey you
its all good for real
always there for you
i miss you too
you can come to the store after school
like if you want
cant wait
might ditch last period
naaaah dont do that
not worth it
please
you or school?
aint gotta think
But Lulu followed his advice and didn't ditch a single class, even though she wasn't able to focus for longer than ten minutes each time, fighting the urge to drop her head on her desk and fall asleep.

When she arrived at the station, she was definitely surprised to see that her little sister was already there, chilling in the back with Ashtray.
"How was school?" Lulu asked.
Zahia shrugged, "Boring. Max kept trying to talk to me, I told her to go fuck herself."
Fezco, Ashtray and Lulu laughed as she lifted her thumb up, "That's my sis."
Finally, she made eye contact with Fezco and a feeling of insecurity invaded her, as she recalled how their last conversation had ended. It couldn't be called a fight but Lulu had definitely pushed Fezco away because she had felt judged and had tried to protect herself.
Or maybe because she regretted the decision she had made going to the police.
Fezco grabbed her hand and pulled her in his embrace, "Hey, beautiful."
Lulu chuckled, draping her arms around him and leaving a small kiss on his neck, "Hey..."
Fezco placed a hand on her face, using the other one to pull a strand of hair behind her ear, looking at her adoringly.
Lulu batted her eyelashes, feeling flustered by the way his eyes were staring at her. It really was the first time someone ever looked at her this way and she couldn't get enough of it, "I'm really sorry about last time. I shouldn't have reacted this way."
"It's all good, ma', you already apologized," Fezco said reassuringly.
"Not to your face," she said, "This whole thing's stressing me out but that was no excuse to raise my voice at you like that."
So Fezco did what he knew would put an end to Lulu's concerns. He kissed her. Softly, almost shyly, as if he couldn't really believe someone cared enough about him to go out of their way and sincerely apologize for something as tiny as a small emotional outburst.

When they pulled away, they were both smiling ridiculously. Fezco took a deep breath, "I... wanted to say somethin' to you."
"Zahia!"
The two lovers turned around only to notice Max hopping off a bike as Zahia let out a loud grunt and walked past her sister with a serious face, "What do you want?"
Max shivered at Zahia's harsh tone, "I—I... really wanna talk to y-you."
"Oh yeah?" Zahia snickered, "Wanna tell me how Casey's tongue felt down your throat?"
Lulu gasped, quickly putting a hand over her mouth in shock, and Max swallowed harshly, feeling even more exposed than she already was. Zahia had stepped closer and was just a few inches away from her, both arms crossed over her chest.
"I-I don't know what happened," Max blurted, "I... I was drunk, I really didn—"
Max couldn't even finish that Zahia had grasped a handful of her hair and slammed her head against the nearest fridge violently.
Lulu jumped up, eyes opened wide, noticing for the first time this type of violence coming out of her little sister. She tensed, ready to pull her away at any second if she ever decided to hurt Max even more.
"Now, listen to me, you fucking cunt," Zahia growled, "You shut your stupid little mouth and you get out of here."
She was still holding her hair firmly as Max whimpered painfully. Zahia leaned into her ear, "And you don't ever look at me in the eye again. Is that clear?"
Max shook her head, whining, as Zahia finally released her, pushing her away before lifting her middle finger towards the terrified girl who was now running away. Zahia laughed at the sight, "Fuck you, bitch!"
Lulu was speechless and she watched her sister going back towards Ashtray, who couldn't help the proud smile on his face as the two young ones shared a high five.
Faye, who had been there the whole time, broke the silence, "Your sister's a savage, damn..."
"Wonder who she got that from," Ashtray said as he wiggled his eyebrows knowingly at Lulu.
Lulu shook her head with a small smile as Fezco tugged on her arm, pointing a finger towards someone walking out of a car.
And her heart missed a beat when she recognized Maddy walking towards her.
Now, we all know what happened at New Years between Fez and Nate. And everybody talked about Lulu being Fez's ride or die.
Like, she literally walked past the whole crowd with a proud smile on her face.
But we all know Maddy and Lulu are like best friends and shit. And Maddy has a reputation for beating the shit out of people who hurt her and the people she loves.
So.... when Maddy showed up, Lulu thought she was gonna get her ass kicked.
Lulu took a deep breath and walked all the way until she was standing in front of the girl. She could feel her heart beating in her eye-sockets and was certain that her friendship was soon to be over after she had clearly sided with her boyfriend on New Years.
"Can we talk?" Maddy asked with a hint of sorrow in her voice.
But Maddy didn't want to kick Lulu's ass. She hadn't talked to her for a few days and she missed her so much that it actually hurt.
You can't tell me that's not actual love.
