*Justin's POV*
Ariana just told Jess and I that her and Alex are going out to dinner.
"That's great." I smiled. The way she smiled when she told us, told me that she is really happy with him. I'm happy if she's happy.
"I have to go find what I'm going to wear." She said. She then walked out of the kitchen.
"I'll be up there in a little bit." Jess called.
"Okay." She said back to her. We heard Ariana go upstairs and then her door shut.
"You better be nice to him." Jess said.
"Jess I like this one. I'm going to nice." I said.
"I'm watching you Timberlake." She said.
"You can watch all you want." I grinned. She laughed and playfully punched me in the arm.
"I'm going to go help her find something to wear." Jess said. I nodded and she left. I pulled my phone out and called Jimmy.
"Hey man." He answered.
"Dude Ariana is going on a date with Alex!" I told him.
"Team Alex!" Jimmy cheered.
"I really like him, but I feel like I should threaten him." I said.
"Justin, you already threatened him last time. Plus I don't think he'll hurt Ariana." He told me.
"You make a good point." I said.
"How about this time you just be the nice guy." He suggested.
"I think I will." I smiled.
"Finally." He said.
"At least I wasn't the one who about killed him and didn't give him a chance to explain himself." I said to him.
"I made a mistake." Jimmy laughed.
"If it wasn't for me he would be dead right now." I laughed.
"You make a very good point." He laughed. I laughed along with him. "I gotta go man. Good luck with Alex. Be nice." He said.
"I will! I am a nice person!" I said.
"If it comes to Ariana and boys, you aren't." He said.
"Okay you make a good point, but I like this one." I said.
"Just be nice!" He laughed.
"I will. Bye Jimmy." I laughed.
"Bye." He laughed. We then hung up and then the doorbell rung. I walked out of the kitchen and to the door.
"I got it!" I yelled upstairs. I then opened the door and saw my Dad standing there. "What do you want?" I sighed.
"We need to talk about what happened." He said.

"There's nothing to talk about." I said. I then went to shut the door, but his foot stopped the door from closing.
"Don't be stubborn Justin." He frowned. I glared at him.
"I am not stubborn." I said.
"Yes you are. You get it from your mother." He smirked. I rolled my eyes and motioned for him to come inside. He came inside and I shut the door. "Where's Jess and Ariana?" He asked me.
"Upstairs. Ariana has a date with Alex tonight." I told him. He nodded his head. "We can go to the backyard, I guess." I awkwardly said.
"Okay." He said. We walked to the backyard and sat on the patio.
"Say what you want. I won't talk until you're done." I told him. He nodded his head and looked at me.
"I was way out of line calling you a bad father. I regret it. I know that I was a bad father to you and I regret it everyday. I wish I could go back and redo it all, but I can't. So that's why when you got older I tried my best to get close with you. I always wished that I had the relationship with you that you have with Paul." He said. He took a pause and sighed. "You aren't a bad father Justin. You're doing an amazing job with her. You are doing much better than I did with you. You learned from my mistakes and I'm proud of you for that. You don't know how proud of you I really am for becoming the man you are, your career, being an amazing husband and now an amazing father." He said. I looked down at the ground.
"Thanks Dad." I looked back up at him.
"Of course. I meant every word." He nodded. We both stood up and hugged. As we were hugging at looked at the house and saw Ariana and Jess standing inside by the door smiling at me. They both gave me a thumbs up. I chuckled and smiled at my wife and daughter.
Dad pulled away from our hug and gave me a weird look.
"Jess and Ariana are standing there giving me a thumbs up." I explained to him. He looked at the house and the two waved at him. He laughed and waved back.
"You have a very special family." He told me.
"I know." I nodded. "That's why I love them." I smiled.

*Ariana's POV*
Dad made up with Gramps! Yay! After Gramps soon left it was almost time for my date with Alex.
"I have to go get ready." I said. I quickly went upstairs to my room and began to get ready.
I decided on wearing a dark blue dress that ended at my knees with a pair of dark gray sparkly flats. Hopefully he'll like what I'm wearing. I first had to fix my hair so I straightened my hair again and made sure it looked good. I next washed my make up off my face and did it again. I have to look fresh! After I did all of that I looked at my clock. It's six forty five. I then put my dress and flats on. I checked myself out in the mirror and smiled.
"I look pretty damn good." I smiled at my reflection in the mirror. I really do look good. Hopefully Alex will think the same. I then grabbed my Iphone off of my bed and walked downstairs. Jess was the first to see me.
"You look so beautiful!" She smiled at me. "Justin come see her!" She called. Dad walked into the room from the kitchen and stopped walking when he saw me. He looks speechless.
"What?" I smiled.
"You look beautiful." He smiled. I blushed and smiled at him.
"Thanks Dad." I smiled.
There then was a knock on the front door. I went to the door and opened it. There stood Alex with a bouquet of roses.
"You look perfect. You're so beautiful." He smiled at me.
"Thanks Alex." I blushed.
"Anytime." He smiled. He then handed me the bouquet of roses. "These are for you." He smiled at me.
"Thank you so much." I smiled. I then motioned for him to come inside which he did.
"Hey Justin. Hey Jess." He smiled at my parents.
"Hey Alex." They both smiled at him. I walked over to Jess and handed her the roses.
"Could you please put these in some water?" I asked her. She smiled and nodded.
"Of course." She said. Jess then looked at Alex. "That was very sweet of you Alex." She smiled.
"I do try my best." He smiled. We all laughed.
"So there's no need for the whole 'I will kill you if you break my little girl's heart' speech, right?" Dad asked Alex.
"No need at all." Alex shook his head. "I will never break her heart. She's to perfect for that." He smiled at me. I blushed and looked at the floor.
Why does he make me blush so much?
"That's what I like to hear." Dad smiled.
"You two are so cute." Jess smiled at Alex and I. I smiled at Alex and he smiled at me.
"Not as cute as Jess and I, but still cute." Dad shrugged. He then chuckled and Jess playfully elbowed him in the side.
"We better get going our reservation at the restaurant is at seven twenty." Alex said to me. "It was good seeing you two again." Alex smiled at my dad and step mom.
"Have fun you two." Jess smiled at us.
"We will." I smiled. Alex opened the front door and held it open for me. We then walked to his car and left.
*Justin's POV*
"Why did you seem so shocked to see Ariana?" Jess asked me. I looked at the ground, then at her and smiled.
"Her mom wore a outfit like that the night I met her. It just reminded me of her. Then for a split second I thought it was her again. It made me think I was seventeen again." I said to her. "Is is wrong of me to miss Lauren?" I asked her.
"No of course not. You loved her once didn't you?" She said to me. I nodded my head and looked at my wife.
"Of course." I answered her.
"Then you have every right to miss her." She said. I pulled my wife into a hug and lightly kissed her jawline.
"I love you so much." I whispered in her ear.
"I love you more." She whispered back to me.
*Ariana's POV*
Alex drove us in his car to the restaurant.
"Can I just say how beautiful you really look? You are perfect. You're the most beautiful woman I have ever seen." He smiled at me as he drove down the road. I blushed again and looked at the floor of the car.
"Thank you Alex." I smiled when I looked back at him. He smiled and held my hand. He lifted my hand to his lips and lightly kissed it. I smiled at him.
He's amazing and I am so lucky to have him. I can't wait for dinner. It's going to be amazing.

Myth of The World's Trees
And Simon answered their call with a single statement that nobody understood "Et super mos absit hoc hodie!" "Yah!" "WWWaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!" "AAAlllllaaaaallllaaaaallllaaaa!" "EeEEellllleeeeeelllllleeeeeeuuuuuuu!" I, too, yelled a battle cry at the top of my lungs. I had no idea what Simon had just spouted but from Camilla's giggling, I could guess that Simon thought that spouting nonsense was his way of getting out of the earlier predicament. "I forbid death upon this day," Camilla said. "What?" I answered a bit at a loss. "Ancient Latin," she replied smugly, "He said 'I forbid death upon this day'." I laughed aloud "Then he is gonna be really disappointed in everyone here," Camilla did not reply and instead took a deep breath. I did the same, zoning out everything in my surroundings. The environment became a world of electrical pulses traveling across several networks. I perceived the world through my lightning and sped my heartbeat to inhuman levels. I was present now, at this moment, at this point in time. I could feel the electrifying air saturating my lungs, the electrified ground vibrating at the rhythm of the approaching enemy. Then I took a step forward, everyone followed in tandem. Camilla the first, and then the others. Then I took a second step, and this time everyone followed simultaneously. Third step… Fourth step… Fifth step… Then light jogging… Speeding up… Running … Running faster…. Then suddenly, everyone disappeared into motes of light particles that re-constructed itself hundreds of feet above the horde, dozens of miles away from our initial position. We were literally 'diving' into battle.-------------------------------------------------------------------Despite a rough childhood in the slums, Omari had everything a guy could want - a loving girlfriend, an understanding sister, a wonderful teacher, and his dream job. Cursed Forest
This is a high fantasy story with horror elements, featuring the map-maker and half-elf Aspen, and his friend Sekafi, a hyena-like humanoid as they are sent on a mission to map out unknown territory and encounter a monster. Soon they're involved in something larger and more dangerous than they ever wanted. What happens next, you'll find out when you read. This is the first story I'm publishing here on RoyalRoad. I wanted to try this site out since it's more geared towards fantasy. I've been at Wattpad for about 2 years under the same name, but since I'm not writing romance I haven't gotten much steam there. This is my latest story, and it's also published on Wattpad in the book called Short Stories. I wanted to start with something new and unfinished here. I'll try and update at least once every other week, sometimes more often. ~RiisingNovels
