Scared, I felt scared.

We were in a limo right now and were on our way to the party.

The only thing keeping up my spirits was the idea of meeting Maya's son other than that, there was nothing.

Absolutely nothing.

Lots of people, Sir and what not.

Internally, I was having a break down not because I was about to see Mr. Vega but because I know, I will have to come across people I never wanted to see again. People who gave me nightmares for years, people who destroyed my life.

My secrets run deeper than just abuse, it was so more than just abuse or a bad father-daughter relationship.

My scars weren't just engraved on me physically but also mentally.

I guess they were scars for a reason; they reminded me of the things I've been through and the moments that almost killed me.

Parties in the Vega house were way more than just parties.

They were life-changing events.

Alex sat right beside me looking through his phone like usual. What if he says something wrong to sir?

Sir will kill me.

"We're here," Alex called out to me I looked up to see a fancy mansion.

"Who's house is this?" I asked Alex

"I grew up here until I was five, it's my own house." My eyes probably doubled in size.

The house was like one that came out of fairytales, the driver opened the door and I got out but the moment I did Alex gripped my waist and slipped on the ring we got yesterday slyly.

"You know how to face cameras, so do what you do best. Look up and smile, do not answer anyone until required, and stick to my side; we don't need you flirting around." Alex mumbled leaning closer to my ears.

What has Sara ever done to him?

I took in a deep breath and a shiver went down my body.

Finally, I pulled myself together and put on a tight smile on my face, I needed to do this.

I need to do this.

Tonight Alex will keep me safe, I know he will.

I looked at Alex, slightly, only to see him looking at the house with longing. "why don't you live here anymore?" I asked.

"Because of you, because of your family." with that Alex straightened up and walked along.

The paparazzi kept questioning us on our way, asking us if we were together, or if I was pregnant but I did not respond just like Alex told me not to.

The flashes were almost blinding me, I did not like the attention.

I hated it.

We entered inside the ballroom, which was beautifully decorated and color coordination was in s rose gold, peach, and white.

That is when I noticed that the light pink dress Alex choose for me was to match the theme, he wore a tux with a peach bow tie.

I love bow ties on him.

Looking around, I saw people whom I had seen before in parties at the Vega house but never talked to.

I knew them but they did not know me.

An old couple approached us and greeted Alex, the old lady smiled up at me, "Sara darling, I never knew you were dating Alex! I thought you were involved with the French model you worked with for Vogue" I frowned, not being able to answer the lady.

How was I supposed to know who Sara dated, we hardly ever talked, we never talked.

I felt like screaming out loud that I was Sierra and not Sara at times.

Before I could answer the old lady, Alex cut me off, "that's just a rumor Elizabeth, Sara and I have been dating for a long time now, in fact, I proposed a few days back!" the lady, Elizabeth, seemed very surprised and straight off looked down to my left hand.

The ring.

The couple congratulated us and made and we made our way to the other side of the ballroom saying goodbye to them.

Alex led me to a table where a few businessmen were seated with their dates, he greeted everyone and introduced me to everyone.

"You seem to know a lot of people already?" Alex said but I simply nodded, the funny thing was that everyone knew me but I did not know anyone, just then I saw Sir come into the ballroom his eyes wandered around before landing on me, the moment our eyes connected I looked down out of respect, sir hated me looking straight into his eyes.

Oh no.

Alex noticed the sudden change in my behavior and saw sir, he smiled.

But the smile was different.

It was calculative, it had a hint vengeance.

This was not the Alex I knew, he was different.

"Happy to see your dad, Sara?" I smiled, trying to put on a façade, obviously, I was expected to be happy.

I was, after all, meeting sir, 'dad' after a long time.

"Alex," sir greeted without acknowledging me "Mr. Vega" Alex answered back.

Sir looked down at me and sized me up, "how has she been?" he questioned Alex "less of a whore" The moment Alex said that sir clenched his fist, he realized well enough that I had replaced Sara and that Alex was referring to her without the knowledge that I was her twin.

After a few moments, sir smiled, "she's all yours do whatever you want with, as I said before, keep my company afloat and take whatever you want"

Alex smirked, "I know well enough how much you love your daughter Vega acting like you don't love her in front of me won't help, she is going to have to pay for what you've caused to me." sir shrugged and walked away.

The aura around him was different right now.

"I'll just come from the washroom" I excused myself to go to the washroom and took a deep breath.

The moment I was in the washroom, I took the support of the door, this was too much to handle.

I was never good at meet people and seeing so many people at once was taking a toll on me, over that Alex thought Mr. Vega loved me, I wanted to laugh at that instead I calmed myself down and headed out of the washroom.

My newfound confidence was slightly visible.

"Sierra?" the voiced sent chills down my body and fear shook me, I knew that voice to well.

Sierra.

Not Sara, Sierra

Goosebumps took over my skin and I felt threatened.

I turned around slowly, knowing exactly whom I was going to see, I wanted to shout and call Alex but I closed my eyes and calmed down, "H-Harry"

Harry smirked and walked closer to me, sending me on alert, I took a step back but he followed "running away Sierra?"

I felt my eyes watering but controlled myself, "n-no. I'm not."

I looked up to see a smirk come across his face, I felt like I could faint any moment.

I was going to have an anxiety attack very soon if he kept coming near me.

Just when Harry was about to reach out for me, Alex's voice interrupted him.

Alex does always save me, maybe he's the angle mom sent for me.

I sent a silent prayer to Alex for saving me and immediately went beside him "Mr.Taylor?" Harry asked to which Alex nodded and both of them shook hands "Harry William" Alex tugged me to him and wrapped his arms around my waist.

His touch soothed me, it did not feel threatening as Harry's did.

"Meet my fiancé Sara." I smiled to which Harry gave me a wicked grin and very leniently took my hand and kissed my knuckles, noticing my discomfort Alex pulled me back to him.

"We should take a leave, enjoy," Alex said in a groovy voice and we headed back to the ballroom, where all the couples were now dancing.

Alex pulled me with him to dance, I placed my hand on his shoulder while his hands moved to my waist "Alex, I don't know how to dance" I whispered, Alex, leaned closer to me, "follow my lead"

Sara did not know how to dance either.

The song playing was slow so following Alex's lead was not very difficult, but my mind was messed up after seeing Harry, it brought back memories which weren't ones I ever wanted to think about, in my consciousness, the scars were still very prominent but to people around me it is was as if they were just not there.

Why did my past always follow up?

How far should I run until I give up?

Alex suddenly swung me around, taking me out of my consciousness, I looked up to him and realized he was staring down at me too.

All the thoughts left my mind as Alex pulled me back to him and we stared intently at each other and after a long time I noticed, a genuine smile come and grace his face, he bent down, and all of a sudden his lips connected with cheeks while he took a whiff of my hair and then a look of shock passed through his face before his void face was back.

"Addy!" A little boy came running in our direction and wrapped his hands around Alex's leg, The most beautiful smile graced Alex's face, and he picked up the little boy.

"I miswed you, Addy, look what happened," The little boy said pointing to his left hand which had a cotton plaster around it.

Was he Maya's son?

Just then Maya walked up to us, she was dressed up in a beautiful Peach dress, she hugged me, "Sara darling, meet my son Ian" she said while Ian looked at me shyly before hiding his face in Alex's neck again.

"Is she your friend?" Ian asked Alex while Alex nodded in reply, "she's pretty" Ian said making Maya laugh, "she is, want to be friends with her?" Alex asked Ian while Ian clapped his hands and turned to me.

" Hi pretty lady, I'm Addy's best friend" I chuckled at his introduction "hi little man, I did not know Alex had a best friend!"

Alex cursed slightly while Ian stared at him with narrowed eyes "Addy you promised me that whenever you meet anyone you'll tell them that I'm your best friend"

"I forgot, I promise I tell everyone that from now on!" I smiled at the interaction and decided to save Alex "oh stupid me, Alex did tell me about you but I forgot!" Ian now had a full-blown smile on his face "really?" he asked Again for reassurance and I nodded.

"Is it fine if I get Ian to work tomorrow the daycare is closed?" Maya asked Alex, "you know you can always bring him in Maya, in fact, I'd like for him to leave the daycare all at ones, anyway, I'll be home tomorrow afternoon so no problem"

Maya smiled, "I actually have a little work tomorrow, I'll prepare the food in the morning itself and leave. I need to go to the bank and run a few errands. Sara, can you please look after him for sometime tomorrow?"

Both Maya and Alex looked at me as if I was going to say no, I pulled Ian out of Alex's hold and held him, "Hey, wanna spend the day with me tomorrow? I make really good cakes" I bribed and Ian started giggling.

"yes pretty lady, I want to make cakes too!" I smiled, "deal"

After an hour or two, once dinner was over, Alex and I got back into the limo.

The ride was silent and Alex seemed even more distant than before, but I was caught up in my own thoughts.

Harry.

The name itself made me feel scared, unconsciously I ran my hand through my waist right above the scar and shivered.

Harry won't do anything he's already done what he had to do, he usually just makes random appearances and reminds me of what fear really is
