《The Innocent Soldier - Linstead》Chapter 7

She just said she loved me. I love her too but she didn't give me a chance to say it. Why the hell would she love me though? I'm obviously too weak to get through this damn thing. Just the flashbacks and memories. I can't take it anymore. I decide to get off my ass and head to the Chicago Bridge. I don't know what I'm gonna do there but it's better than sitting here.
I'm now pinned up against the Chicago bridge wall by my car but with another car in front of me. Sorry, let me rewind real quick.
I park my car over to the side. Once I'm to the middle of the bridge I look over to see the water. Damn this place is pretty. I'm kinda hungry so I start looking around for a cafe or something but I see a jewelry store instead. "I still need to find a ring." I think to myself. It's quite far away and the roads are busy so I go to get in my car. I'm just about to open the door but I hear screaming and a screech. I look up to see a car coming straight for mine.
Back to the present time
Sharp pains throughout my whole body. I can barely see. Lots of smoke, lots of screams and yells for help. I'm stuck behind my car and the other car is holding it in place. From what I remember, there were three cars. Mine, the one that's tangled in mine, and the car that hit this other one and slammed it into me. But I don't see the one the hit it.
"Do we have anything today? I'm bored." Ruzek asks. I shake my head. All of the sudden I feel like something bad is gonna happen. I look up and notice Jays empty chair. I wonder how he is. He's probably bored too.

HV- "Just got a call. Car wreck on the City Bridge."
R- "What does that have to do with us?"
HV- "Witnesses say it was a hit and run"
Not often do we get called in for a car wreck. Jay would enjoy this case, he likes the simple cases. Usually car wreck cases are easy because you just look into one of the thousands of security cameras that Chicago has and then interview to suspect. Usually the suspects buckle under pressure. I'm just curious how Jay is doing right now.

Rise of the First Necromancer
Asrael Nessarat awakes on a sandy dune with a mouthful of sand and nothing but tattered rags in his posession. As the High Magus of the school of Necromancy, he once aspired to prove to the Emperor that magic still held a place in their society. But that day came, passed and inevitably accelerated his kind's downfall. Now; they are hunted, strung up and burned on pyres throughout the Empire by the Emperor's holy Inquisition- an efficient and ruthless army hell-bent on bleeding every last droplet of magic from the lands. With nothing but a mouthful of sand and tattered rags; Asrael is determined to seek the one thing his cold, still heart desires. Vengeance. This story can, at times, get very dark. It is not recommended for the faint of heart. This is not a story of an overtly powerful wizard who can pulverize his enemies from across the world, nor is it in any way, shape or form a joyous tale. We follow Asrael as he and his companions explore and seek to change an unjust world, where kindness and acceptance are exceptions, rather than the rule. If you are looking for a story to inspire hope or joy, this is not it. If you wish to read about likeable, heroic people, turn around. If you wish to see good battle evil, where the cut in between is clear, then this is not for you.
