《The Memorial Day Murders》Chapter 33 : A little mishap

"We're hiding in a freakin' cable car?" Gerry asked me, bundled up in winter clothing. Before I left Uncle William had left me the keys to his emergency safe house on the Alps. "We could just climb up and camp nearby."
"Uh... do you want to freeze to death?" Dom leveled a glare. "You're nuts to say that."
"So, where are we going Isabella? A safe house?" James asked me.
"It belongs to my uncle." I explained. "This is one of the few places the President would dare to venture here."
"What about the Churchill bunker?"
"Still a secret, but the place here is way more safer." The cable car reached the top and I motioned them to move out. Carefully unlocking the door I pushed it open but I smelt the scent of crackling fire. "Wait here." I told them. Holding a gun in my hand I quietly maneuvered my way in the cabin, searching for any living being. I first reached the living room and looked at the fireplace, which shows signs of people lighting a fire. Kneeling down I inspected the remaining charred wood but I heard the sound of a firearm's hammer being pulled.
"You have improved your senses." the voice of an old man said. Raising my hands I slowly stood up to avoid any accidents and turned to face my grand-uncle, Frank Von Accola, whom I haven't seen for a long time.
"You're not so bad yourself grand-uncle." I said.
"William has informed me on what has happened, but according to my judgement you could be involved in something related to your past in the military." before he could finish he fired his gun, the bullet whizzed past my ear and straight towards the foyer. We heard a groan but my eyes widened.

"Grand-uncle don't!" I said. "They're with me."
"Fine." he said. "You can come in." he declared. Grand-uncle Frank has definitely hit someone with his gun as James was the one shot by the bullet in the arm. "I do apologize for that James." he said.
"I'll have to patch that up." he said, placing the gun on the table. "At least the shot wasn't meant to kill me."
"And them?" my grand-uncle lifted his gun again. "Well, except him. I know him as your accompanying agent." Timothy slowly moved out of the way and stopped by my side.
"Who is this old Terminator?" Dominic joked.
"Grand-uncle Frank, just... just..." I gently swing my hand at him to lower his gun. "Don't shoot my friends."
"This is national security we're talking about young lady." he frowned. "Clearance?"
"Sorry, uh... Mr. Terminator? General Dominic Hayes, worked with the VP on Afghan before."
"Frank, Frank Von Accola." he reiterated himself. "If my grand-niece trusted you than so be it." Dominic cooly walked in as I lifted my hands to show them it's fine. "Do I look like that robot in the movies?" he asked me. I cringed on that question, so does James. James have met my grand-uncle before, not in a physical way, as I showed him a photo of his when we talked online.
"No, not really. Probably scared of the gun." I said, shaking my head. "Here, this might help to clear up the confusion." Handing him the file containing the information of our current situation he quickly swept through the files and he solemnly nodded.
"The man would have been my big break when I'm at your large." he mused. "Your team killed one of the most wanted terrorist in the world."

"I wish." I said, a long sigh.
"What happened?"
"He has a twin brother." I said, toying with the gun. "Not exactly Christmas." I added, looking at him in the eye.
"But judging from the team's expertise, you couldn't have gotten wrong information."
"We don't know, we receive our information from reliable sources."
"It could be, but if I am correct about my theory, I believed that the brother was the intended one to travel to Afghanistan and because of his likeness to Bin Masir as a twin, caused the authorities to mistook him for the real Bin Masir. Are they aware of Bin Masir having a twin brother?"
"No, the authorities have no knowledge of Bin Masir having a twin. Information on Bin Masir has been scarce."
"And that, is the point." he concluded.
"Pardon me." James said, gently knocking at the door of the study, the room he asked me to go to talk about the problem. "They're asking for you sir." he said, trying to sound polite instead of approaching him with a tone hinting a friendly relationship.
"How is the wound? I do apologize for it."
"I am fine sir." he confirmed, the bandage clearly forming a bulge on the part where he was wounded underneath the long-sleeved sweater he is wearing. Grand-uncle Frank nodded and left the room, we following behind him. "Did Dominic just called him the robot from the Terminator movie series?"
"You heard that James." I say, patting him on the shoulder. "That popcorn movie night my mother organized when she and your father has to work late simultaneously."
"And that was the time I get to watch robo movies instead of curling up for boring movies."
"Robo movie?" I said. "I thought you liked that zombie movie?"
"It was, until you freaked out when you saw a zombie." he said.
"Still, you play that video game." I said. We reached the kitchen area and grand-uncle Frank cleared his throat.
