《A Cinderella Story》Chapter 30

The next morning, I woke up in the arms of my mate who was staring at me.
"Good morning my Queen." He said smiling down at me.
I chuckled a little before shaking my head. "I don't think I could get used to that." I replied.
"Well get used to it because you'll be hearing it all the time now." He said smirking at me and then gave me a sweet kiss.
I remembered the events of yesterday and seeing Cruella and the daughters.
"What happened to my stepmother and her daughters?" I asked.
"They spent the night in the dungeons. We will go and see them after breakfast." He replied.
I nodded my head before we both got up and got ready for the showdown. As we were getting closer and closer to the dungeons, my stepmother's screeching became louder and louder.
"Do you know who I am? I am the Queen's mother! You had better show me some respect!"
Hearing that made my blood boil. Did she really think she could take advantage of me now that my situation has changed. She loved to kick me when I was down and I can guarantee she never loved my dad. As soon as we got to her cell, her screeching suddenly stopped.
She looked at me with some sort of sick adoration. It made me want to vomit.
"My darling Sophia! I have missed you so much my darling daugh-" she began.
I simply put my hand up to stop her. I'd heard enough and did not want to hear any more.
"Just stop. What do you want? You never wanted to know me, you never even cared for me! Why else do you think I ran away from home? I never wanted to be anywhere near you. You made my life a living hell when my dad went away and you were the worst when he passed away!" I couldn't hold it back anymore. This hypocrite was really going to act like the caring stepmother? Well it was too little, too late. It was time for her to hear some home truths.
She had the audacity to look scandalised. Did she genuinely think she was innocent?
I looked towards Gray and saw he had a face like thunder, almost like he was trying to control himself. He was trying to let me do this myself and I was grateful.
"Sophia...I don't know what you think happened but I took care of you when you lost your father, my darling husband. I could have kicked you out but out of the goodness of my own heart, I looked after you. NOW GET ME OUT OF THIS CELL!" She was in hysterics.
I noticed the two daughters were cowering in the corner. Not daring to look at the commotion in front of them. They looked exhausted. I have a feeling mother dearest never let them sleep.
"I'd watch my tone if I were you. You're in no position to be making any demands." I heard Gray say calmly behind me. "You also need to remember who you are talking to."
I turned to look at him and gave him a smile and a nod, letting him know I got it. He walked forward and took hold of my hand. It calmed me down instantly. I took a deep breath before turning to Cruella.
"I don't owe you a thing. You treated me so bad that I had to leave my home that I had a happy childhood in, leaving all my memories behind. Be lucky I don't order to have your head chopped off." I replied as cool and calm as I could despite my heart racing a million miles an hour. "You can stay in here until I decide what to do with you. Lets see if I am in a generous mood or if your luck will run out."

And with that, I turned around, leaving Cruella and her ugly daughters shocked and speechless. I looked at Gray as I turned. "Lets go. I'm done here."
With a smirk, Gray took hold of my hand and led me out of the dungeons. We walked silently up to our room. As soon as we got in, I crashed onto the bed, staring into space. Gray sat beside me.
"I'm so proud of you, you know that?" he asked.
I looked at him confused. "Why are you so proud? I didn't do anything special."
He took my hands in his large, soft ones and looked into my eyes. "You could have totally let rip at that sad excuse for a female and instead, you handled it like a Queen. My Queen." With that, he captured my lips in a sweet kiss. I wrapped my arms around his and kissed him deeper. Eventually we had to come up for air but it was all too soon.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door, breaking our romantic moment. The door opened and in came Carla.
"Sorry to disturb you guys but we do have a wedding to plan and you, your majesty need to get back to work" she said in an all too cheerful manner.
"Good point" replied Gray. "I had better go. Be good." He said to me before giving me a kiss on my head and then left us.
"Aww! Too cute!" gushed Carla.
I rolled my eyes at her. "Thought you said we had a wedding to plan?" I asked her.
With that, we got onto the wedding planning.
I few months later and it was the night before my wedding. Gray had to sleep in a different room because supposedly it is bad luck for us to see each other before the wedding. I was beginning to miss him that much that I couldn't sleep. Midnight was also getting a bit restless.
"Can't we just sneak out to see him? What harm will it do?" She asked.
"Apparently, it's bad luck for us to see each other before the wedding." I replied.
"Since when were you into superstition? Go see him! You know you miss him." She said.
I thought for a moment before another voice appeared in my mind.
"She is right you know." Came Gray's voice. "I would like to see you before our wedding."
I sighed. "Gray, how are we going to see each other when this palace is as heavily guarded as Fort Knox!"
There was silence before his voice replied, "Fancy going for a midnight stroll?"
I was confused. How on Earth were we going to get out of here together?
"You go out first. Wait by the Oak tree and I'll come out 10 minutes later. Nobody will suspect a thing." He replied as if reading my mind.
I thought for a moment before replying. "OK. I'll let you know when I'm outside."
With that, I got ready to go for a midnight stroll with my soon to be Husband.
After 20 minutes I finally made it outside after experiencing the Spanish inquisition from the guards. I waited impatiently for him to come. After another 20 minutes, I could see someone heading our way. As it got closer and closer, I recognised Gray. I ran towards him and jumped on him, giving him a tight squeeze. I could hear him chuckle in my hair.
He put me down before wrapping his arms around my waist as I wrapped mine around his neck, We got closer and closer and eventually our lips met in a sweet yet passionate kiss. We stayed like that for a while before we had to come up for air.

"Missed me?" he replied with a smirk.
"I think the feeling is mutual." I replied back.
Gray chuckled before taking my hand in his, the familiar tingles shooting through my body reminding me of our bond.
We walked slowly through the forest chatting about anything and everything, kissing in parts and holding each other close under our tree.
We must have fallen asleep because the next thing I know, I'm being woken by loud thumping sounds.
"Your Majesties. We are so glad we've found you both." Came a voice.
I slowly opened my eyes and immediately shut them, blinded by the sunlight. Once my eyes got use to the light, I opened my eyes to see it was one of the guards from the palace.
"Nothing to worry about. We must have fallen asleep and not realised the time. Let's head back to the palace. We have a wedding to attend." Gray said, looking at me and giving me a sly wink.
I couldn't help but giggle before we all made our way back to the palace to get ready.
As we got back to the palace, I could hear clicking of heels at the front door. As soon as I opened the door, my vision was blurred by a mass of blonde, curly hair.
"Thank Goddess you're safe! Where were you?" came Carla's accusing voice.
I was about to reply before being interrupted.
"Never mind! We have a wedding to prepare for and not enough time! Hurry!" and with that, she took me by the hand and practically dragged me to the bedroom where a team of women were waiting, armed with beauty things.
A good few hours later, I was primed and ready to get married. Everyone had gone and left me alone in the room to wait for my cue to go down.
"You look beautiful." Came a voice behind me. I turned around and saw that it was the Mood Goddess.
"Thank you. For everything." I replied with a smile.
"No need to thank me dear, it was written in your destiny. You are finally where you belong." She said.
"I definitely feel like it. I finally feel I belong." I replied.
"Enjoy this new life. You deserve it after all you've been through." She said. "Oh, and before I go, I have another surprise for you." She simply looked down at my...stomach?
I looked at her confused and looked down. I touched my stomach and felt a different kind of tingle. It wasn't nerves because I knew what that felt like. Then it dawned on me...
There came a sudden knock on the door and the next thing I know, the Moon Goddess had disappeared.
Carla entered. "It's time." She said.
I nodded to her before following her to the throne room. We stopped at the doors.
"This is where I leave you. Congratulations Sophia. You deserve all the happiness in the world." Said Carla before leaving.
I faced the closed doors and took a deep breath before they opened.
I looked around. I know I picked pretty much everything but it was still mesmerising. More mesmerising than the room was the vision in front of me. Gray looked more handsome than usual in his amazing black suit. He looked back at me. I felt like we were the only two people...well three...in the room.
I walked slowly down the aisle, forgetting that there were others in the room as well as cameras showing a live feed of the wedding.
When I got to the front, I faced my mate and smiled. He smiled back and took my hands in his.
"You look absolutely stunning love." He mindlinked me.
I blushed. "You look so dashing and handsome yourself." I replied back.
With that, we both turned so the ceremony could begin.
Thankfully there was no drama at the wedding and everything went according to plan. The ceremony was done and we had the reception out in the gardens where we first spoke at the ball.
We had our first dance to Ed Sheeran Perfect which for us was the perfect song. We had food but I struggled to keep anything down. Gray started to become suspicious but I wanted to wait for the perfect moment to tell him.
Finally, we were heading to our honeymoon destination. We decided to go to Hawaii as I had always wanted to go there since I heard one of the pack members talking about it whilst I was cleaning.
We were on the plane, taking off to the beautiful, sandy beaches of Hawaii. We were sat talking about the wedding and what we wanted to do once we were in Hawaii. By the sounds of it, we wouldn't be seeing much of the Island!
"My I offer you a light snack?" came the voice of the Hostess.
I looked at the food and my stomach turned. I got up and dashed past her to the toilet where I threw up the food I ae at the wedding. There was a knock on the door.
"Everything ok?" came Gray's worried tone.
I got myself cleaned up before heading out. Gray was standing in front of me, looking worried.
"I'm fine." I simply replied before heading back to my seat. Gary came behind me and sat down in front of me.
"Something is wrong, I can feel it. Please tell me what is wrong?" he pleaded with me, taking my hands in his.
I couldn't keep it in. I didn't want him to worry when there was nothing to worry about.
I looked into his eyes before taking a breath.
"I...I..." I began but nothing else would come out.
"Yes? Please honey, tell me."
I tried once more before I couldn't work up the nerve to tell him. I took his hands and rested them on my stomach, looking in his eyes hoping he got the message.
Gray looked confused for a while before it finally dawned on him. He looked up at me in shock.
"You're...you're...pregnant?" he whispered.
I simply nodded. Gray's face lit up before picking me up and twirling me around, making me nauseous again.
"I'm going to be a father!" he yelled and I couldn't help but laugh. "And you're going to be a mother." He said putting me down.
I nodded again before we shared a sweet kiss. When we came up for air, we looked at each other for a while.
"You've made me the happiest man alive. Thank you for coming into my life." He said.
"Thank you for saving me and giving my life meaning." I replied back.
We both sat down and held each other until we reached our destination.
And from that day on, we lived Happily Ever After.
The End...or is it?
