THIS WILL BE THE DAY CHAPTER 3

After Tai, Ruby, Yang and Oscar defeat the grimm, they are surrounded by new opponents. Adam Torres is there with a small group of followers. Mercury and Emerald are there as well.

Yang: Who wants to go first?

Adam: I already defeated you once. It looks like Blake is a little too busy right now to save you with another one of her tricks. With that, Adam and Yang begin an intense battle. Tai joins them as well. Adam and his team lead them away from Ruby and Oscar. Mercury and Emerald face off with Ruby and Oscar.

Ruby: You don't fool me this time. I know all your tricks!

Mercury: No tricks. Just you and me. Come on.

Oscar: Ruby, don't!

Ruby runs at Mercury with her schythe and swings. Then she falls to the ground with a hard thud.

Mercury laughs: Stupid girl, I'm over here!

Oscar tries to help Ruby.

Oscar: No Ruby don't! He isn't going to fight you fair.

Mercury: You want to give it a try?

Oscar: Ok, leave Ruby out of this! Come on!

Mercury and Oscar fight but Oscar is no match for Mercury. Ruby charges at Emerald to stop her from interfering. They don't see what is happening with Tai and Yang. Suddenly they hear a terrible scream. They all stop and see Tai lying in a pool of blood. Adam grabs Yang and pulls her into an airship a few feet away. Yang appears unconcious but Ruby is certain the scream came from Yang. Ruby screams and tries to run to them. She hears something and feels a terrible pain in her spine. Ruby falls to the ground unconcious.

Oscar has seen everything and runs to Ruby. Mercury had shot her in the back as she attempted to get to Tai who lay motionless a few feet away.

Emerald screams: Mercury! You shot her! You didn't have to shoot her.

Mercury: Did you think she was going to come quitely? He tells her as he swaggers over to Oscar and Ruby. He shoves Oscar. Move kid!

Oscar blasts back at him with incredible strength that no one knew he had: NO! You touch her and you're dead! He yells actually picking Mercury up with both hands; Oscar throws Mercury and he lands with a hard thud several feet away. Everyone is stunned. Oscar has just found his semblence: an incredible strength. Oscar picks Ruby up and carries her to get help. No one tries to stop him. Emerald abandons Mercury who was knocked unconcious.

Qrow has once again defeated his opponents and looks for more. When he sees Oscar carrying an unconcious Ruby.

Qrow: What happened?!

Oscar: Ruby's father showed up but so did Adam, Mercury and Emerald along with some others. Mercury shot Ruby! Adam took Yang and ....

Qrow: And what?

Oscar: Their dad... he is hurt really bad...I'm not sure....

Qrow: Where?

Oscar: Back there and he motions toward the spot.

Qrow: You got Ruby? She ok?

Oscar: I'm taking her to the doctor.

Qrow: I'll get Tai!

Qrow finds Taiyang. He has lost a great deal of blood. He checks Tai, afraid of what he will find. He is relieved that Tai is still alive. Just then he sees Winter approaching.

Qrow: What are you doing here? What about Ethan? Did something happen?

Winter: He's ok. I'm here to help. I've never seen a battle like this.

Qrow sighs: I have. Winter, you shouldn't be here. I've got to get Tai to the doctor now. I'm not sure I can move him.

Winter looks around: Qrow, he will have to wait a few moments.

Qrow looks and they are surrounded again: Stay back Winter. I've got this.

Winter: No, together. Listen to me; I've got an idea.

Qrow: What's that?

Winter stands back to back with Qrow the way they used to fight long ago: Just like old times. Stay close and I promise; I'll be safe.

They circle around back to back killing all the grimm that surround them except one. It is a seer grimm controlled directly by Salem. It stares directly at Qrow and he can see Salem in the globe. It's tennacles stretching towards them.

Salem: Qrow. How lovely to see you again. Who is that with you?

Qrow: You think I'm going to waste time talking to your crystal ball? Qrow smashes it. Let's go. Help me. Winter takes her coat off and they use it to lift Taiyang. They pull him out of the battle.

Winter: Wait here! I'll get the doctor.

Qrow grabs Winter by the arm and kisses her: Winter, they shot Ruby. Adam took Yang.

Winter gasps: It's going to be ok. I'll check on her. She hurries off.

As Qrow watches Winter disappearing, a portal appears in front of him.

Qrow: A little late to the party Sis!

Raven looks at Tai's lifeless body: Is he...

Qrow: Dead? No, not quite, but almost...why are you here?

Raven: I've been here. I've already had loads of fun little brother.

Qrow: Adam Torres was here too. He's got Yang!

Raven: He'll be back then.

Qrow: Really? You know what he's planning?

Raven: I might. I think he wanted to use her... to get to me.

Qrow sighs: Then we better get ready. It won't be long.

Winter and Dr. Watson have returned with a few others to help Taiyang.

Qrow: Winter, please go back with them.

Winter: Ok. Please be safe. She kisses Qrow. She smiles when she sees Raven. It will be ok. See you later. Don't worry.

Qrow: Doctor, is he going to make it?

Dr. Watson looks seriously worried: I don't know but I will do all I can for him. He is in critical condition.

They quickly carry Taiyang away and only Qrow and Raven remain.

Blake and Sun have been fighting grimm with his team since the fighting began. Blake anxiously waited for Adam to show up. She had told Sun what Illa told her. It seemed to her that the grimm just kept coming. Finally, they looked around and saw nothing.

Sun: Is it over?

Blake: I don't know. She continued looking around. She saw Illa nearby with her team. Illa! Over here!

Illa came over: I think we made it. The attacks have stopped.

Blake: I wouldn't be so sure. Let's check on everyone. Many have been killed and the city is littered with the dead from both sides.

Jaune, Ren, Nora and Weiss are doing the same. None of them are aware of what happened to Ruby or Yang. When the fighting suddenly stopped, they all began to look for the others.

Weiss: Has anyone seen Ruby? Or Yang? She spies Qrow and runs towards him. Where is everyone?

Qrow: You all should go back to the house for now. Let the doctors tend to your wounds. I don't think we've seen the last of it.

Jaune: Is that where Yang and Ruby are?

Nora: We haven't seen Oscar either.

Qrow: Oscar and Ruby are there. Ruby was injured.

Weiss: Is she ok? How bad?

Qrow: I'm not sure. But, she is going to need her friends.

Jaune: And Yang?

Qrow: We'll send Yang back when we find her.

Ren: Come on. Let's do as he says.

Sun and Blake find the other fawnists teams. Blake is relieved to see both her mom and dad are well.

Sun: Hey, glad to see everyone!

Blake: Mom! Dad! Can you come with us? I want to check on all the others.

Blake's mother: I'm sorry dear but your father and I need to stay here and help the wounded. This may not be over. Be careful dear. Blake and Sun say goodbye to everyone and continue to look for the others. After a few minutes, they come across the remains of Tyrian.

Blake: I can't say I'm sad to see him gone.

Sun: Yeah, but we lost a lot of good people too.

Blake: I'm glad we still have each other. They hug. Then Blake spots Weiss.

Blake: Weiss?

Jaune: Sun! Blake! Over here! They greet each other with hugs and high fives. Everyone is talking over each other: Man am I glad to see you! Did you see what happened? Did you hear about Ruby? Has anyone seen Yang? Do you think it's over? They continue talking until they reach Dr. Watson's house. Inside the house, the mood is solemn. It felt like they were walking into a funeral home. They were afraid to speak. Winter greeted them.

Winter: Would you like something to eat? There is plenty of food in the kitchen.

Nora: Is Ruby dead?

Everyone gasps!

Nora: Well, everyone is thinking it!

Winter: No. The doctor says she will be fine but, he isn't certain about the damage to her spine. You can all go see her if you like. Oscar is with her. She shows them all to Ruby's room.

Oscar is sitting by her side but she is still unconcious. Oscar's eyes are red and swollen.

Jaune: Oscar, what happened?

Oscar looks up: It was terrible. Mercury! He did this to Ruby. He looks at Blake. Adam was there. He took Yang!

Everone: What?!

Sun hugs Blake and she begins sobbing.

Blake: Why? It's because of me; isn't it?

Oscar: I don't know. They all came and somehow, Ruby and I were separated from Yang and their father.

Jaune: Taiyang was there?

Oscar: Yes. He was...He is too overcome to go on.

Weiss: Oscar, it's ok. Just tell us what happened.

Oscar sobs: He's with the doctor. I don't know anymore. It's bad, really, really bad!

Jaune: After you got seperated what happened?

Oscar: We were fighting Mercury and Emerald was there. We couldn't see what was happening to Yang and her father. Then we heard Yang scream. Taiyang was lying there .... and Adam had Yang and took off with her. When Ruby tried to stop him, Mercury shot her in the back.

They all gasp.

Jaune: What happened to Mercury?

Oscar: I don't know. I was so upset and I yelled and I threw him. I don't know....it all happened so fast.

Ren: Wait, you threw him?

Nora: Alright! Way to go!

Jaune: Nora, what are you so happy about.

Ren: Oscar found his semblence.

Jaune: What? Oh.

Oscar: I was just so upset and Mercury tried to take Ruby. I had to stop him. It just came out. Next thing I knew, I was holding him up and throwing him as hard as I could. I left him there.

Ren: It sounds like you found your strength within Oscar.

Oscar: yeah, I guess so.

Jaune: Ruby is going to be ok. Thanks to you.

Oscar: What if she can't walk again? What if her father doesn't make it?

They all sit in silence. They all wonder; what if it isn't over? What if Adam kills Yang?
