"LISA! JUNGKOOK!" Two familiar voices shouted across the hall.
"What just happened?!" Chaeyoung asked, panic.
"Zeus was about to give his speech and then everything went black!" Jimin said, reminiscing what happened earlier.
"I-I don't know, but has anyone seen our parents?!" Lisa asked.
"They're safe but..." Chaeyoung said.
"But what?!" Lisa exclaimed.
"But they're hurt... badly." Jimin finished Chaeyoung's sentence.
"What do you mean, I thought they were gods!" Jungkook shouted.
"Whoever did this knew the gods had a weakness." Chaeyoung said.
"So who the hell would do something like this?!" Jimin exclaimed.
"That would be me!" An unfamiliar voice resonated across the hall.
"Lisa, stay behind me!" Jungkook immediately said, switching his protective mode on.
"Trust me, I'm not planning to jump in front of you... But who the hell is this?" Lisa rolled her eyes and asked.
"I'm glad you asked, gorgeous! My name is Taeyong... King of Titans!" That person said.
"Oh my god!" Jimin, Chaeyoung and Lisa exclaimed in unison.
"So you're the bastard behind all of this?!" Jungkook asked furiously.
"That would be me, son of Poseidon." Taeyong smirked.
"I have a name, it's Jungkook!"
"Well Jungkook, I would love to have you on my side. You have great potential to become a Titan." Taeyong said.
"Hate to break it to you, but I don't work for anyone... let alone a scum like you." Jungkook said.
"Who does this guy think he is? At least we are demigods, but what the hell are you?" Jimin mumbled.
"He's probably nothing but a dropout. Let me guess buddy, you weren't good enough for Olympus or something!" Chaeyoung said, hitting right on the spot.
"How dare you disrespect me like that! I will burn you and your friends to ashes, and do the same to your parents! But then again your parents won't be living for much longer. You better spend as much time as you can with them, while you still have it that is." Taeyong laughed like a maniac, disappearing into thin air.
"I can't believe this, who the hell was that guy?!" Chaeyoung exclaimed, pulling her hair feeling frustrated.
"I don't know but he's going to regret messing with my family!" Jungkook said.
"Jungkook now is not the time to get angry... But that monster is right about one thing... we need to be with our parents while we still can." Lisa sighed.
"Let's get going then..." Chaeyoung suggested.
-
"Jungkook, are you alright?" Lisa asked when they reached the hospital but Jungkook didn't say anything, just engulf Lisa into a hug. They did not say anything, just hugging seeking each other comfort.
"How are you always the stronger one...?" Jungkook asked still hugging Lisa.
"What do you mean?"
"No matter what happens, you're always able to put on a face and take care of me when it should be the other way around..."
"Jungkook, this is just how I am. I've always been able to hide my pain from the world, so I could protect others. But really... I'm dying on the inside from holding it back. I'm just as afraid as you are... and if we lose them then-"
"Then it'll just be you and I... I won't leave your side. I promise. I love you." Jungkook cut Lisa off, kissing her forehead.
"I love you too. Okay, do you want me to come with you to see your dad?" Lisa asked breaking the hug.

"No... I need to do this on my own. Besides, you should probably go see your mom." Jungkook suggested.
"Alright..."
"I'll see you soon..." Jungkook said and both of them parted ways to find their parents.
Lisa was blaming herself for what had happened all the time when she was walking to her mom's room.
"How could this have happened? I should have told mom about my dream sooner... and because I didn't- And now it's my fault that mom might actually die. It's all my fault! It's my fault that everyone I loved, people who were like family to me... my best friends... they were all about to lose someone they loved dearly... because of me." Lisa whispered, tears finally rolling down her face.
"The job is done." Taeyong texted on his phone.
"Perfect, well-done King of Titans!" The person on the other side replied.
"TAEYONG! What the hell have you done?!" Seulgi yelled.
"What did I do?!"
"You nearly killed my father, you heartless bastard!"
"Why the hell do you care so much about your father when he's the one that abandoned you! The way I see it, I've done you a favour." Taeyong said.
"A favour?! Do you think killing my father is a favour to me?! I don't care about what he has done to me, he's still my dad and because of you, he's going to die!" Seulgi said.
"I don't get what you're so worked up about, you were all for this."
"I didn't know this is what you were planning... You lied to me and said everyone will be fine! Jimin will hate me for the rest of my life because of you!"
"You wanted those gods to suffer and that's what I gave you! And now you want to blame me for this?!"
"You told me they would suffer, not die! You lied to me Taeyong!" Seulgi shouted.
"I did what was best for you and me!"
"No Taeyong... you did this for yourself and for that bastard child of yours!"
"Don't you dare talk about my son like that!"
"That baby won't belong to me when he's born, because you decided to cheat on me with that witch!"
"That's because you're nothing but a no-good goddess! I wanted my son to be born with pure Titan blood, so he'll take my place!" Taeyong blurted without thinking.
"Then you, that witch and your soon to be child can all go to hell!" Seulgi said before leaving.
Right after Seulgi left, Taeyong received a text message. "Oh and don't worry about our son, Taeyong. I will take very good care of him, and raise him to be ruthless just like you. Hopefully one day he'll be able to break the heart of a woman he loves."
"What have I done..." Taeyong mumbled, feeling lost. He really loves Seulgi but with the current situation, it seems like that would be impossible anymore.
"Jimin... can we talk?" Someone asked.
"I have nothing to say to you Seulgi... this is all your fault and you won't be forgiven." Jimin sighed, not drained out of energy to feel angry.
"Jimin please, just hear me out... I didn't want this to happen. Please Jimin, I just want to talk. I have no one else to turn too."
"Let's go outside, I don't need you in here with dad." Jimin said, walking out the hospital.
"I'm sorry father... I'm sorry." Seulgi apologized before walking out.

Both of them are at the hospital entrance, Jimin waiting for Seulgi to explain but the latter was not saying anything.
"Why the hell are you even here, shouldn't you be out somewhere hiding?" Jimin couldn't stand the silence and finally asked his sister.
"Jimin I know what you're thinking, but this isn't my fault. I swear..."
"You seriously didn't think I know about your so-called husband, the King of Titans?! I'm here giving you a chance to talk while our father is laying in the hospital bed waiting to die, and you're going to continue to lie to me?!" Jimin was raging.
"Jimin, I swear I didn't know this was going to happen! I knew Taeyong was planning something and yes I was apart of it, but what he did... this wasn't the plan Jimin."
"Then what was the plan Seulgi?!"
"It was to make all the gods suffer... But I'm telling you I never knew that Taeyong was planning on killing them! No matter how badly father treated me... I would never want him to die. He has every right to hate me. I mean look at me... I'm a monster and I ruin lives." Seulgi breaks down, sobbing.
"What are you talking about?" Jimin was confused.
"The reason dad hates me so much... is because of what I did years ago."
"Alright, what did you do then?"
"When I was younger I... I killed my mother."
"What?!" Jimin was shocked.
"I know... I'm a monster but the truth is I don't even remember what I did. I was so young and I had so much anger in me... I just ended up killing her without even knowing."
"H-how did you-"
"I was able to kill her with my mind... at that age, I have no control of my anger. It drove me crazy with all the hate and anger inside me, and one day... one day my mother was the victim of my anger. I never hated her... I just had no control. And for all these years... I've had to live with that burden. Father abandon me because I wasn't a boy, he only wanted a son that could take his place. So apart of me thought that if I could prove myself to be a cold-blooded monster like him, he would accept me. And just love me as his child. But that doesn't mean I would want dad to die... no matter what he's still my father. And he's all I have left as a parent." Seulgi said, explaining what had happened all those years before Jimin even knew he was a god.
"If you want to come and see dad with me... I won't mind." Jimin said, feeling bad for his sister and guilty for judging her too fast without knowing what had happened to her in the past.
"R-really, you'd let me see him?" Seulgi asked, making sure Jimin allows her to see their father.
"Of course I would, he's our father and we are his children. Even though we come from different mothers... it doesn't make us enemies."
"Thank you, Jimin..."
"Don't mention it... Let's get back to him." Jimin suggested and Seulgi went back into the hospital first.
"I never knew she had such a hard life..." Jimin sighed, pinching his nose bridge. feeling overwhelmed with everything that has happened tonight.
"Well if you ask me, I think you're doing the right thing." Chaeyoung suddenly appeared.
"You heard all of that?"
"I did and I think it was very sweet of you. You was always the good one, and you got that from your mom. Unfortunately, Seulgi got her evilness from her mother." Chaeyoung said.
"How do you know that?" Jimin asked.
"Well remember that voice and the book I told you about?"
"Yeah..."
"Well it told me about Seulgi's past and apparently her mother was a Titan."
"A Titan?!"
"Yeah, which is why her heart is so different from yours. But the fact you're giving her a chance might help her to become a god like us."
"I hope you're right. By the way, how's your mom doing?" Jimin asked.
"I can tell she's trying to hang on... but I can also tell she's slipping away from me."
"Yeah... I feel the same thing with my dad."
"I heard that Poseidon and Athena had it worse, apparently Athena was in the line of fire and Poseidon went to save her." Chaeyoung said.
"Yeah, I heard too... Jungkook and Lisa must be a mess right now."
"Jungkook is trying to be brave like always. But I know Lisa is falling apart, she's blaming herself for all of this."
"Why would she do that, it wasn't her fault." Jimin asked.
"She told me that she had a dream about this, but she could only make out so much. she thinks that if she had warned everyone, none of this would have happened."
"Oh man... I can see why she's blaming herself. But I don't blame her for this, how could she have been so sure."
"Jimin I don't blame her either, but that doesn't change how Lisa feels on the inside." Chaeyoung said.
"Have you tried talking to her?"
"I did... but she just won't open up. Every time she tries to say something, she begins to cry and I don't want to push her. And I don't know if Jungkook can even help her right now, because he doesn't want to leave his father's side."
"Let me try talking to Lisa then." Jimin suggested.
"You?! No offence Jimin but you are not the best at giving advice..." Chaeyoung gasped.
"Just let me try at least."
"Fine... but if you make her cry even more, I'll kill you and put you in one of these hospital beds!" Chaeyoung warned.
"Alright, I get it, no need to be violent! Where is she anyway?" Jimin asked.
"She's out on the rooftop garden."
"Okay, I'm going." Jimin said and run off to the rooftop garden where is Lisa is.
"DON'T DO ANYTHING STUPID JIMIN! He's totally going to mess up." Chaeyoung face palmed before going back in the hospital to see her mom.
"LISA!"
"Jimin?!"
"Woah, is that a peacock over there?! I haven't seen one of these here yet, that's so cool!" Jimin exclaimed.
"Jimin, what the hell are you doing here?" Lisa asked.
"Oh right! I came to see how you are doing."
"And you got distracted by the peacock?"
"Yeah... it looks that way, doesn't it?"
"What do you want then?" Lisa asked, still clueless as to why Jimin is here.
"Chaeng told me that you were feeling bad and blaming yourself for what happened. I just want to help Lisa... You really shouldn't blame yourself for this, no matter what happened in your dream." Jimin said.
"I just feel like I could have prevented this from happening."
"Why do I feel like that's not what's really bothering you?" Jimin squinted his eyes, looking at Lisa as if he knows what Lisa was thinking.
"W-what are you talking about?"
"You seem to be holding something back, even though you want to say it... you won't. Come on Lisa, you can talk to me..."
"What is Jungkook going to think of me after this?" Lisa said.
"Jungkook?" Jimin questioned.
"He's going to hate me Jimin... I'm the reason everyone is in here. I can't help but blame myself... and what's worse is that if Poseidon dies... Jungkook will blame me because I would be the reason his father died." Lisa finally said what she was holding back.
"Lisa, Jungkook won't blame you. Why are you putting that in your head?"
"Don't you get it, it's my fault! IT'S ALL MY FAULT!" Lisa yelled.
"Okay calm down, don't kill me..." Jimin said, moving a few steps back.
"Lisa relax... what the heck is going on?" Jungkook suddenly appeared, walking towards the two of them.
"Thank god you're here man, your girlfriend is crazy!" Jimin said and run away, causing the couple to look at him weirdly.
"Man I haven't seen him run like that in years. So why don't you tell me why you were about to rip his head off?" Jungkook asked after laughing at Jimin.
"It's not important..."
"Don't try lying to me Lisa, you don't go yelling at people like that for no reason. So what's going on you, why are you so mad?"
"Honestly I feel like you should hate me now." Lisa said.
"Hate you for what?!" Jungkook was confused.
"It's my fault everyone is in the hospital Jungkook, I'm not looking for sympathy- I just can't help but feel guilty for this, maybe if I had said something then-"
"That's enough Lisa. I'm not going to stand here and listen to you blaming yourself, especially for something you have no part in." Jungkook cut Lisa off, crossing his arm and raising one of his eyebrows.
"But Jungkook I-"
"Are you apart of the Titans?"
"What?! Of course not?! How could you even ask that?!" Lisa gasped.
"Because you weren't apart of this, if you were a Titan it would be a different story. But Lisa you aren't, I get you feel guilty of a dream but it wasn't your fault. And until you come to terms with that, you will never feel peace." Jungkook said.
"It's just hard Jungkook. I feel like everyone else will blame me for this."
"If you think that then you are very wrong. Everyone in there are worried sick about you, and no one believes that you had any part in this."
"Really?"
"Really, so please stop hating yourself. I told you if anything happens, I will take care of you and I promised I wouldn't leave on your own." Jungkook said, kissing Lisa on the forehead.
"Jungkook I-" Lisa was cut off.
"Aw, what a beautiful moment."
"What the hell are you doing here?!" Lisa exclaimed.
Jungkook thought that it was one of their friends so he didn't bother turning around to see who it was. But the reaction on Lisa's face told him that he should turn around. Jungkook was fuming in anger when he saw who it was.

System Only Gives Me Useless Gifts
Li Yun grew up with a system that gave him useless gifts. He wanted a reward that could prove the existence of the system, but ended up with abstract gifts like culture. Without physical proof, he was stuck wondering whether his mind was truly sane, all the while dealing with the reality of life. How will the "useless" system help Li Yun navigate medical school, hospital politics, criminal cases, treasure hunting, farming and cooking? Author's Note: This is a slice-of-life novel about a doctor with a mission-type system. It's written as a faux modern Chinese novel, so there are many 1-off characters and episodic mini arcs. Just a bit of warning, the tone of the story is very different after the childhood arc and jumpy as it chronicles Li Yun's life. I'm trying to make it less apparent in the rewrite, but there are still a lot of time skips. RR is the rewrite version, no set schedule. See webnovel for OG. scribblehub is a combo of both . I recommend scribblehub since it has pictures. Copyrights of the novel and cover are owned by Chocomug. Novel is free to read and download for personal use, such as offline reading, only.
