There were nights when things didn't go right.
When his plans fell through and he would have
do something he didn't initially want to,
like kill someone.
He'd come home with invisible blood
on his hands that he'd have washed off,
but it would still be in his mind,
real and raw.
You were the only escape from that.
He almost found himself looking forward
to coming home to your bratty attitude
and dealing with you.
"I want bubbles"
You demanded.
"Lots and lots of bubbles.
It isn't enough"
"Doll"
He told you firmly,
a few buttons left open on his shirt,
his muscly chest on display.
"Get in the tub"
"I can see through it!"
You breathed out,
stepping into the bath tub begrudgingly
and sinking down into the hot water.
"I need you to wash my hair"
"You're a big girl.
You can do it yourself"
"Nuh uh"
You argued with him.
"Fuck"
He ran a hand over his face tiredly,
an irritated sigh leaving his mouth.
"Alright"
Pulling up a stool to the bathtub,
he squeezed some shampoo onto your hair,
messaging it in with his fingers,
a soft moan leaving your mouth because you loved it when anyone would play with your hair.
"Did you have a good day today daddy?"
You asked him absentmindedly,
playing with the foam in your hands,
blowing little bubbles from your palm.
"You called me six times even though
I told you to knock it off"
He scoffed.
"And then when I got one of the guys to come
to the apartment to put you in line,
You gave him a fucking attitude and told him
to call me like I didn't send him over here
to sort you out in the first place.
So no little girl,
I did not have a good day"

"The oven wasn't working"
You defended.
"I wanted to make some cupcakes"
"You have to flick the switch first"
He rolled his eyes at your innocence.
"The electric won't work on the oven until ya do"
"Why is there a switch?"
"To stop you from burning
the place down"
""How could anything burn if
it's only electric?"
"If you have hot oil on the hob and
leave the room like you always fucking do,
somethings gonna catch on fire.
You get distracted too easy
baby girl.
Ya gotta stop that"
Letting you sink further down into the tub,
your face under the water,
he took a cigarettes from his pocket,
lighting it up as you stayed like that,
waiting to see how long you would keep it up.
"Get up baby"
He ordered you.
A grin forming on your mouth,
you ignored him,
holding your breath under the water
to piss him off.
"Get the fuck up"
He snapped.
Giggling softly,
you did what he told you to,
staring at the cigarette in his hand.
"I want a cigarette"
"You're not having one"
He glanced at you.
Sighing softly,
you stood up in the water,
waiting for him to stub out the cigarette
in the sink before he held open a towel for you
and you stepped out in between his legs,
wrapping your body in it.
"Go dry off"
He pulled the plug in the tub,
letting the water drain away.
"I want you to do it"
You insisted.
"You're not a fucking baby"
He looked at you like you were being difficult.
"I'm not drying you off"
"I guess I'll just have to stay wet then"
Sucking his teeth in annoyance,
he looked off to the side for a moment,
trying to keep his patience with you.
"Come here"
He pulled you to him.
"Don't forget to dry in between my legs daddy"
You grinned,
his intense blue eyes meeting yours.
"Oh don't worry sweetheart"
He smirked.
"Daddy won't miss a drop"
