"Happy birthday daddy!"

You smiled at him excitedly as soon

as he opened his eyes,

straddling his waist with your hands

resting on his chest.

"What the fuck?"

He shielded the sun with his hand

as it beamed through the windows,

the curtains open in every room because

you spent weeks planning this day.

"What time is it?"

"It's six am"

You leaned down to kiss him.

"Mwah!

First it's pancakes and then eggs.

And then presents-"

"It's too early for this shit"

He pushed you off of him gently,

burying his head into the pillow,

his muscly back facing you.

"Daddy?"

You breathed out.

"But there's a schedule"

"Fuck the schedule"

He muttered under his breath.

"I spent weeks planning it"

"That's too bad baby"

"Daddy"

You climbed over him to get to

the other side of the bed,

pushing his shoulder to get him

to get out of bed.

"Get up.

You're ruining everything!"

"Damn"

He chuckled lowly,

ignoring your pleas for him

to get out of bed.

"What happened to happy birthday daddy hm?"

"Daddy"

You pouted,

tears blurring your eyes

and he could hear it in your voice.

An irritated sigh leaving his mouth,

he sucked his teeth in annoyance,

giving into you because he didn't want to

deal with another one of your tantrums

that day of all days.

"Fuck"

He rolled his eyes,

dragging himself out of bed

in nothing but his boxer briefs,

running a hand through his hair tiredly.

"I'm up alright?

Quit crying"

"Yay!"

You clapped excitedly,

rushing to the kitchen to make

the pancakes.
