Merid sat up in his bed with excitement and jumped up. He grabbed his bow and his arrows and rushed out of his room. He made his way down the hall and knocked on (Y/n)'s door. The door opened to reveal the young girl standing in the doorway already dressed and ready to go. Merid grabbed her hand and dragged her along with him.
...
The two rushed down the stairs that led to the stables hand in hand, dodging and ducking around the people that were on them. Merid and (Y/n) slid across the railing, and Merid grabbed two apples from a servant passing by and tossed one to (Y/n) who caught it.
Merid suddenly picked (Y/n) up bridle style and stepped off the stairs onto a tall candelabra and let it fall to the ground and he landed on his feet.
Merid carried (Y/n) all the way over to the stables and tossed her onto his horse Angus. Merid climbed on in front of her and grabbed the reigns, and tried not to blush as (Y/n) tightly wrapped her arms around his waist.
"Yah!" He called, and they sped off.
...
🎵🎵
They rode into the forest and Merid locked an arrow into his bow and fired at a target he had hung and hit it dead center.
🎵🎵
Merid fired another arrow and hit another target dead center.
🎵🎵
He hit another target and let out a laugh, and looked back to see if (Y/n) saw him. He glanced at her and saw her looking around the forest with a smile on her face and the wind blowing through her beautiful hair. He just stared at her, admiring how beautiful she was until she turned back to look at him and he faced forward again, blushing.
🎵🎵
Angus leaped over a log and Merid shot an arrow in mid air and hit another target that had already had a bunch of arrows lodged in hit. Once they landed he turned around and fired at a target behind them hitting it perfectly.

"Woo-hoo!" Merid shouted in victory causing (Y/n) to laugh.
...
🎵🎵
Angus was rolling around in the grass while Merid and (Y/n) sat next to each other. Merid was carving an eagle into his bow, when (Y/n) leaned her head to rest on his shoulder. The prince tensed up for a moment, before finishing his carving.
A screech sounded above them, and they both looked up and saw an eagle flying above them. Merid smiled and glanced at (Y/n) who still had her head on his shoulder. He laid his head on top of hers and wrapped his arm around her waist.
...
(Y/n) was attempting to shoot an arrow at a target. She had the bow drawn all the way back and Merid was behind her helping her aim. He put an arm around her waist and his other arm adjusted her direction, while (Y/n) was trying to hide the blush creeping onto her face.
Merid finally stepped back and (Y/n) fired the arrow and it hit the target dead center.
The two cheered and jumped up in the air, and (Y/n) turned around and hugged Merid around the waist. Merid paused in surprise before recovering and picking the girl up off the ground and twirling her around in circles as she laughed.
He set her down on the ground, but still had his arms around her and just stared at her. She stared back at him and smiled. Eventually, (Y/n) stepped out of his hold to go retrieve her arrow, Merid staring after her.
...
🎵🎵
Merid and (Y/n) were attempting to climb the Crone's Tooth. Merid reached the top and looked down at (Y/n) who was still climbing and over looked her ascent hawkishly. The girl slipped for a second and nearly fell, but quickly caught herself and kept going (Not noticing she nearly gave Merid a heart attack).

🎵🎵
Once she got close enough, Merid reaches down and offered his hand, which the girl took and he helped her up the rest of the way.
🎵🎵
The two smiled at each other and turned to look at the waterfall that was near them. They cupped some water into their hands and drank from the falls.
🎵🎵
They then cheered excitedly and their accomplishment, and (Y/n) wrapped her arms around Merid's neck and hugged him. She let out a yelp of surprise when Merid wrapped his arms around her waist and spun her around. The girl let out a laugh once he put her down and the two stared into each other's eyes and smiled.
Merid leaned in a little closer, and (Y/n) did the same, but before they could get any closer they heard Angus whinny down below, startling them and they jumped apart, both a deep shade of crimson.
"W-We should uh, probably head back down..." (Y/n) suggested.
"Uh, right, right. Yeah." Merid agreed.
The two climbed back down and walked back over to Angus. (Y/n) climbed on his back, not noticing the glare that Merid sent the horse for interrupting them. Merid hopped on in front of (Y/n) and snapped the reigns heading back to the castle.
🎵🎵
...
Merid rode Angus back to the castle and parked him in the stable. Merid hopped off and extended his hand to (Y/n) and helped her down.
"My lady." He said teasingly.
"Why thank you, my prince." (Y/n) teased back, knowing he hated it when she called him that.
He sent her a playful glare in return.
"I'm starving. You hungry too Angus?" Merid asked, patting the horse's rear, only to be hit in the face with his tail. "Pfft. Oats it is then."
(Y/n) giggled and Merid nudged her shoulder.
"Come on, we should get to the table. You know your mom hates it when you're late." (Y/n) reminded him.
Merid groaned and rolled his eyes as (Y/n) grabbed his hand and pulled him towards the castle, neither one aware of the disaster that was about to happen.

Delve
Summary – Level 1: Delve is an isekai litrpg that follows an average guy who just happened to wake up in a forest one day. He wasn’t summoned to defeat the demon lord or to save the world or anything like that, at least as far as he can tell. The only creature there to greet him was a regular old squirrel. Soon enough, he meets other people, only to discover that he can’t speak the language, and that not everybody immediately trusts random pajama-wearing strangers they met in the middle of the wilderness. Things generally go downhill from there, at least until the blue boxes start appearing. Delve is a story about finding your way in a new, strange, and dangerous world. It’s about avoiding death, figuring out what the heck is going on, and trying to make some friends along the way. It’s not about getting home, so much as finding a new one. Did I mention that there will be math? Summary – Level 2: Okay, but what are you in for, really? Well, this story is supposed to be realistic, or at least, as realistic as a fantasy litrpg can be. The main character doesn’t instantly become an all-powerful god and murder-hobo his way across the universe. Delve is, at its heart, a progression fantasy, but that progression is meant to feel earned. The numbers in this story actually mean something. Everything is calculated, and if you find a rounding error, I expect you to tell me about it. That said, if math isn’t your cup of tea, there is plenty more that the story has to offer. Characters are meant to feel real, and progression isn’t only about personal power; it’s also about allies, connections, and above all, knowledge. Figuring out how the system works is a significant theme. ... What, you want more details? Okay, fine, but this is going to get a bit spoiler-y. Are you sure? Yes! Really sure? I mean, this summary is practically half as long as the first chap– Now! Okay, okay! The main character becomes a magic user, but he takes a route that is not very popular in adventurer culture, namely that of a support. There is a full magic system with various spells, skills, and abilities, but our MC decides that aura magic is the way to go, and that the only stat worth investing in is mana regeneration. Most people at the Adventurer’s Guild think that this makes him a bit of a dumbass, but he’s playing the long game. We’ll see how that works out for him, won’t we? Because of his build, the MC levels up fast, at least compared to normal people. There are no cheats, though, and he is limited in other ways. There are some clear and pretty obvious downsides to his build. That’s what makes it fun, no? Morals? Our MC has them. Again, we’ll see how that works out for him. Realism, remember? Would you be okay with killing someone and looting their body? I sure hope not. POV? The focus is on the main character, but there will be occasional varying perspectives from people around him, or involved in the events related to the main plot. It isn’t going to jump all over the place. Tech is standard medieval stasis. No smartphones, but the MC does have a technical background. Computers and their programming might be involved. There might even be a bit of uplifting down the road, who knows? Anyway, it isn’t the focus. He isn’t going to invent the gun in chapter 1 and change the face of warfare. Romance is not a major focus. Friendships are more the name of the game, though there will be some characters in romantic relationships. There is exploration, though not as much of the geographical nature as you might expect. It is more about exploration of the system and the culture. The pace is slow and detailed, sometimes verging on slice-of-life. The action is meant to be realistic and grounded in the numbers, and it is intended to have meaning beyond simply punching things until they stop moving. The general tone of the story is grey, and some parts can get quite dark. People die. Sometimes, people with names, but not anywhere near GoT level. There is plenty of light, too, though, to balance the darkness. The world is dangerous, but overcoming that danger is why we’re all here, isn’t it? Anyway, if you’ve made it this far through the summary, you clearly like words. I hope you enjoy the story! Cover by Miha Brumec Summary Updated: 2020-06-14

While the entire series story has undergone major changes in the last year, all books have been planned since the beginning of writing. It is also my second wish to eventually make this story into a webcomic, either by myself or with a team if possible. Thank you for taking this journey with me, and enjoy reading! ( You can alternatively read books in the series as standalone fictions, but they connect to one another though a running theme and mystery that evolves and progresses with the main character. ) Alternate Blurb for the Singularity Cycle series: Essairyn had never felt truly alive on Earth. It felt like something was missing ever since she was born, but even after nearly 20 years of mundane living, she could never pinpoint what this or the emptiness in her heart was. Suddenly, she awakens in a grandiose, primordial forest and encounters mythical creatures beyond her restless imagination in a parallel world called Sol'h'meyr. She befriends, in particular, a sassy fox-spirit named Akari who reincarnated after three millennia. Essairyn is gifted with abnormal magic, and Akari is being chased by those of her dark past. Together, they set out on an adventure in a world more dangerous than its beautiful facade could hide. Finding new friends along a path riddled with tragedy, Essairyn must learn who to trust as deceit and betrayal lie behind kindly faces. Life in this deceptively promising world slowly spirals down a path of no return. This is not a game, but cruel reality. Her simple adventure became the modest beginnings in a chain of disruptions that tore even the dimensional fabric of time and space. No one, not even Essairyn, was who she thought they were. And not even the fickle gods could change the time-worn destiny of the universes... A single promise shook eternity’s existence.
