I took in a deep breath, "Shikadai! Hurry up!" I shouted at the bottom of the staircase. I heard Temari laughing, "maybe he'll listen to you. And thanks by the way. You know for always driving him to school." I nodded, "I'm happy to do it."
Shikadai came down the stairs slowly. "Good morning to you too." He mumbled. I shook my head and grabbed his hand. "Bye Mrs. Nara!" I said and we left his house. Music and us shouting filled my old car as we drove to school.
He turned down the music after a while. "So did you play new Kingdom Fairy game yet? " He asked. I slammed on the breaks, in the middle of the road. It was an old back road so no one was around. "Yes! Have you finished it yet?" He shook his head. I started driving again, "too bad we have a test today. I would have waited until your parents leave to go to work and then make you finish it."
He laughed, "sometimes I think you're a bigger gamer than I am." I scoffed, "I am." He glared over at me, "oh yeah, then after school we'll finish this the old school way."
"I pin you down until you pass out?" I asked. It was something we did as kids.
"No-" I cut him off.
"Did you finally get Dungeons and Dragons!?" I shouted with excitement.
"Psh, I wish."
"Then what?" I asked.
"Mario Kart! But the Gamecube version."
I smiled and pulled up to the school. "Another day of us being nerds and everyone else laughing at us."
"Just remember, people like us are cool in college."
I laughed, "yeah you're right. This is nothing more than a two player game." I said and smiled at him.

I pulled into my parking spot, turning my lights off, and we got out. He grabbed my hand and we walked into the building some would call "hell on Earth" I mean, they're not wrong. The halls weren't that crowed today. Some people usually wouldn't come to school the day before the weekend would start.
I kissed him goodbye when he turned down the hallway to get to his homeroom. His was at the front of the school while mine was on the other side. I kept my head down and stared at my phone. Playing a Gameboy Advance and a 3Ds while walking really helped. That sounds weird but hey, I don't have to look up when I'm walking.
The day went by slowly, but once school was over we headed over to his house. "Just like old times, just at my house." Shikadai said. "And you're driving."
I smiled and kissed his cheek at a red light, "yeah but it's more fun now. We get to scream songs now."
He laughed and the light changed.
We arrived at his house, running up to his room. He texted his parents telling them that I would be over. I told mine that I would be over at his. We both knew that this has been normal for too long.
We sat down in front of the tv, were his old Gamecube was plugged in. "Yeah I was playing Natsu the Wind Dragon last night." He said and scratched the back of his head.
"I don't blame you, that game is amazing. I missed playing it."
He nodded, "well after I beat you, we can play it."
I shook my head, "you mean after I beat you and after I finish Kingdom Fairy, then we can play."

He rolled his eyes and put the disk in the console, turning on the power. He sat behind me, wrapping his arms around me, holding his controller. I rested the back of my head on his chest.
"This really feels like old times." I said.
He nodded and kissed the top of my head. We choose our players and I choose the tracks we would be playing on.
In the end, Shikadai won. He rubbed it in my face for no more than two minutes while I changed out the cords to the PS4. "Are you sure you have Kingdom Fairy?" I asked.
"Yes, it's already in the console."
I played for a little but before handing him the controller and starting on my homework. His arms were still wrapped around my waist as I sat my homework in my lap.
I stayed for dinner that night and we played Natsu the Wind Dragon after. The sun went down and we both doing homework on his bed. My back was towards the door and he was facing towards me.
"Uh (Y/n)," he started. I looked up from my History homework, "yes?" I replied. He gave me his math homework, "what am I supposed to do?" He asked, laying his head on my shoulder and probably closing his eyes, taking a small break.
I looked at it for a moment, and wrote down 'y=mx+b' on his paper. "You take two points off the graph and do Y2-Y1 over X2-X1." I explained the rest to him and the told him what to do again.
"See this is why I date someone that's smart." He kissed my lips. "Or someone that doesn't sleep in class." I replied, smiling.
It was getting late so I had to head home. We spent a good three minutes hugging each other. "Why do you have to leave?" He asked. "Cause if I don't I'll only see you at school."
He pushed me away, "then you better get going, I have a game to finish." I laughed and we kissed.
