《What's Really Hood》ONE

"Trin!" My father yelled from downstairs
I rolled off of my bed, walking out of my room and peeked from over the stairs banister
"Yeah daddy?" I answered
"C'mere real quick." He said
I walked down the stairs and met him in the living room as he was putting on his scarf.
New York is freaking cold. It's October and the weather is unbearable. I can't take anymore of it.
"I'm bringing my stuff to the office." He said holding up a plastic crate full of office necessities "I might stay a few hours there, if I do I'll text you." He said putting on his polo beanie
"Aight." I said
"If anything call me. Order some food or some shit if you hungry." He kissed my cheek
"Bye daddy." I said
"Seeya later." He said and left out with his crate
I sighed and walked back to my room. I miss Cali so much. I miss the sexy boys, the weather, the beach. Need I say more?
Although my friends? I dunno, it's a love hate relationship. All them are fake, rich, bougie girls but then again they're cool.
If you don't have any money, you're not worthy to talk to. That how it is basically.
I'm no better since I've been in private school and surrounded by people like them my whole life.
I don't think I'm ever gonna adapt to this lifestyle. It's like survival of the fittest and I'm not gonna last.
I'm not used to this hood environment.
I had a maid, chef and the whole nine yards. We lived in a 6 bedroom home, and now we're living in a 2 bedroom 2 1/2 bathroom suburban home in a depressing neighborhood.
My cold hearted mother made a run for my dad's money and left my father and I in the struggle. To make things worst, my father got transferred and now we're living in New York, in the hood.
I was really hungry, so I turned off Netflix and went downstairs in the kitchen to find something to eat. I wasn't satisfied with the stuff we had. Daddy hasn't gone food shopping since we moved in about a week ago. I had to get something to eat, and I was craving Chinese food. I was too lazy to go out, but I had to if I was gonna eat.
I exited the kitchen and went back upstairs while using Siri looking for the closest Chinese spot. There's one right around the corner, how convenient.

I went in my closet and slipped on some black tights, one of my many forever 21 pullovers, a pair of uggs, and my Supreme x North Face jacket. I picked up my beats and plugged it in my phone playing my Lana Del Rey playlist. I only like a few of her songs. I slipped my wallet and phone in my jacket pocket and took my keys, locking up the house.
I jogged down my front porch heading down the block and took in more of the neighborhood. Oh god, is that a dead raccoon?!
"Ew." I said to myself hurrying past it
As I started walking farther down the block, I saw a house with a couple of kids around my age, sitting on the front steps. As I was walking past, I took a quick glimpse but took out my phone playing with it not trying to bring attention to myself.
From the quick glances, I saw 2 girls and 2 boys. The girls both had on bubble Marmot jackets and one boy had on a Pelle leather jacket and the other boy had on a Penfield jacket.
I did my research on New York apparel
I looked up once more and saw they were all looking at me. I quickly looked away picking up my pace and turning up the volume to National Anthem that was now playing.
When I was speeding up, I was staring down at my uggs the whole time.
A boy then ran up in front of me. He was very light and had a weird shaped head. He had nice pink plump lips and was covered in tattoos, I can tell by his neck tattoos. He's cute.
I stopped dead in my tracks and stared at him. His lips was moving but I wasn't hearing anything, so I took off my headphones, but didn't pause the music.
"Um, pardon?" I said nervously
He made up his face "What's that bullshit you listening to?" He asked snatching my phone out of my hand and looking at my lock screen where the song title was moving along the screen
He paused the music "Excuse you!" I snatched it back and stuffed my phone in my pocket
"This is real music." He said smirking
"Mitch caught a body 'bout a week ago! Fuck with us and then we tweakin' hoe, tweakin' hoe! Run up on that nigga, get the squeezing yo, squeezing yo! Everybody catchin' bullet holes. Niggas got me on my bully yo, bully yo!" The other 3 yelled out rapping to the music that was playing from the beats pill and laughing doing some weird dance.

"Can I help you?" I asked stuffing my hands in my pocket
"You talk white as hell. What yo' ass doing out here in my side of the hood? Never seen you over hea' before." He laughed
How ignorant is that. I know I talk proper, but how exactly can I talk a race?
"I have somewhere to go." I said attempting to walk around him
He blocked me and kissed his teeth "I'm speaking to you, with ya proper ass."
Are we really doing this in the middle of the street?
"I don't have time for this." I said and rolled my eyes
"She giving you problems Michael?" A short indian looking girl girl came up to us chewing on gum
"No there's no problem. I'm just trying to go somewhere. Why are y'all interrogating me for?" I said annoyed
"What the fuck you just said?! Watch ya mouth B." She said pushing Michael out the way and standing in front of me sizing me up.
I was scared shitless. I don't know these hood rats and they're about to kick my ass!
"Yo kae, chill damn. The girl look like she about to piss herself." The other girl came laughing and slightly pushing her out the way
Michael snaked his hands around the girl. Why am I still here?!
"Are you from around here?" The girl asked
"Um, I just moved up the block." I replied
I looked over at the house they were all at and the last boy came over.
"She cool, she lives up the block." The girl said "I'm Chyna by the way." She smiled
Chyna was very light, lighter than Michael and had dimple piercings. She was very thick. The loud girl was thin as hell. I dunno why she's so intimidating, yet I can sit on her and break her!
"You could've just said that Mrs. Gabriel Union." Michael mumbled
No this guy didn't.
"Stop it." Chyna snorted punching him in his side
"You do talk white." Kae said putting her two scents in
I glared at her. I looked over at the other boy when I heard him chuckle and quickly looked away when I saw him staring at me. He was light, and had blonde short curls. He was very quiet and very attractive.
"Can I go now?" I asked but started walking anyway
"I'm so sorry about them." Chyna said but I ignored her pressing play on my iPhone and slipping on my headphones
'''
I ordered shrimp and broccoli with pork fried rice. I was about to tear this up when I get home! I hope this Chinese food is good, or that'll be a waste of 8 dollars.
Walking back up the block, I saw that those guys are still outside. I sighed and kept my head straight daring not to look at them.
"Hey!"
Damn. I stopped in my tracks and looked to my left seeing the Chyna girl run up to me.
"I didn't catch your name." She said smiling, she seems sincerely nice
I looked behind her and saw that the 3 was slowly walking up on us
"It's Trinity." I said sticking my hand out
"Nice to meet you." She totally ignored it and pulled me in a hug
She let go when Kae cleared her throat
"What, no Starbucks?" The quiet boy spoke up
Michael and Kae both started laughing obnoxiously. I looked at Chyna and she tried not to laugh, I could tell she was trying her hardest to keep it in.
"How long did it take you to come up with that ass hole?" I asked and dug in my plastic bag and took out my Starbucks glass bottle caramel frappuccino I brought, taking a sip from it
He chuckled and shook his head crossing his arms. The others laughed, excluding Kae.
"She got yo ass Chris." Michael said in the middle of laugher
Chris is his name. I felt Chris burning a hole in my face.
"You look like you from Cali. I can't stand bitches from California."
My eyes then turned into slits having the great urge to knock her out "I am indeed from Cali."
"I like you. Maybe we can chill tomorrow? It's not gonna be that cold for ya nice ass expensive jacket." Chyna said poking my print jacket
It is pretty expensive now that I look at it when I'm broke.
"Oh, and Pelle's, Penfield's and Marmots not expensive?" I asked smirking and folding my arms like Chris
"Oh shit, what you know about them white girl?" Michael asked amazed
I narrowed my eyes at him "Look, I gotta go." I said walking away
"Bye." Chyna sweet self said
I turned around and waved back, Chris was still looking at me. What's up with him?

Necromancer's Resolve
Foster Locke's life wasn't the harshest it could have been. But it wasn't the easiest either. Despite losing the last of his family and having immense debt thrown on him, getting the chance to keep practicing Martial Arts pulled away, and having a completely messed up sleep-schedule, he usually tried his best to stay positive to the outside world. Of course, that wasn't always possible, especially not when he was staring into the glowing eyes of a man-eating creature he had never heard of before. The glowing message-box that accompanied it wasn't much better either. Not to mention the fact that he was suddenly in a dark forest instead of the train station. This isn't a story of great anguish, inescapable peril, or heroic world-saving. Rather, it's one of a young man trying to get by in a world that seems to try his best to kill him. I hope you enjoy the read. --- Cover Image temporary [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]

Ghostified City
‘Ghostified City’ is a post-dystopian sci-fi tale, set in a fading world that might be a future version of ours, running out on autopilot into oblivion. Adaman Yimmand is a simple robofactory operator in The City who's working with robots and machines every day. He doesn’t even realise that he might not have met another actual human being in years. Everything begins when he breaks his routine for once and enters a bar where he meets Evelith. This pesky other person does not let him go after he has had his -rather terrible- beer, because according to her actual humans are much rarer than he’s aware of. And from then on ‘the genie is out of the bottle and won’t get back in’, to use her words: Adaman meets more people, and gradually he has no choice but to accept that the reality of The City is not what he always thought it was, and to face the darkness of a fading humanity on the brink of self-inflicted extinction. Is there any hope left for him, and for his species? I have selected 'sexual content' and 'traumatising content' to be on the safe side, because there is a stripclub-like venue in the background of the story, and an almost-extinct humanity that has institutionalised suicide which might be disturbing to some. Apart from that it's not really a heavy 'adult' story.('Ghostified City' is my first long story in English as opposed to my native language Dutch, and an earlier version was published on my fiction blog 'Oranderra' until I stopped updating. This is a slightly altered version of the first series.)

The Underbelly
There's something wrong with Port City. In the aftermath of the Hyde Park massacre, the city increased its police force dramatically, and Wyatt Milter found himself in uniform, with a gun, a badge, and dreams of someday making detective, but with no clue how to actually make it happen. These days a new, ugly kind of violence is rising on the streets. As a bizarre group of characters emerges from Port City's underbelly, Wyatt will be forced into making a difficult decision. Will he remain a cop? Or will he serve a different kind of justice? (Author's Note: I started writing this about 10 years ago and only now got around to the idea of uploading it. As a result, much of this predates the rising popularity of the Green Arrow. I'm uploading as is, but future drafts will make minor alterations to the character to differentiate it.)
