《What's Really Hood》EIGHT

I looked at myself through my body length mirror and and smiled satisfied. It wasn't all out there, but it wasn't too under dressed. I liked it, Jasmine knew exactly what she was talking about. I smiled in triumph and pushed my fly away hair back. Thank god for this vixen sew in or I'll be looking a mess.
I walked out of my room down the hall into my father's room who's door was wide open. He was watching ESPN as usual.
"Wassup Trin?" He said nodding with his eyes glued to the television
"I'm about to leave, just feel like I should tell you."
"When you coming back?" He looked over at me looking me up and down
He nodded in satisfaction, guessing he's approving my outfit choice "Haven't seen you dress like that in a while." He added looking away
"New people, new environment. Felt like I had to switch it up a little. And I'm not sure when I'll be back but I'll for sure text you."
"Aight, later."
"Bye daddy." I closed his room door and went back to my room to fetch my things
I put on my glasses and turned off my room lights closing my door behind me. I jogged down the steps and headed for the kitchen getting a water from out of the fridge. I paused and looked down at my watch, what time does the party start?
How am I even getting there?
Where is it?
I just realized I don't have any of their numbers saved either, crap. What kind of friends are we? Honestly.
I looked down at my watch and it read 7:30. I sighed walking out the kitchen towards the living room sitting on the arm of the love seat. Should i just walk to the house and meet them there? Do any of them even have a car to drive?
I sighed and got up walking over to the front door. I opened it and closed it behind me jogging down my porch steps. I then made a right and started walking down the block towards the house. It was a chilly night but good thing I wore my jacket.
I stopped in front of their house and saw Chris smoking a fat blunt. No lie, he looked good smoking. He looked so hazy and sexy, I started to stare.

He gave me a head nod and looked me up and down with his eyebrow cocked. He looked at me for a few more seconds and nodded again, but more slowly.
Well then.
I walked through the gate jogging up the front steps passing him. Should I just barge in, knock or...?
"Go in, it's open." I heard Chris from behind me
I nodded as if he could see me and pulled open the grill door with the tattered mesh and pushed wooden door entering in the house.
All different types of fragrance and hairspray filled my nose. I sneezed loudly rubbing my nose.
"Who the fuck is that?" Michael called out from somewhere
"It's Trinity." I said walking into the living room where the big television was playing Nick at Nite.
I heard heavy footsteps coming to me and next thing you know I was being hold in a tight hug "Trinity I haven't seen your ass in a while!"
"Chyna, how are you babe?" I pulled her in a tighter hug
I barely have class with Chyna but it's like I haven't seen her ever since I started school.
Chyna broke the hug and stepped back looking at me in awe "Look at chu!" She gassed pulling me in another hug "Them niggas most definitely gonna like your ass at that party."
I chuckled hugging her back. I looked over at her shoulder to see both Kae and Michael looking at me. Kae had her arms folded looking salty as ever and Michael was just looking at me. I cocked my head to the side looking at him but he remained the same, Kae looked at the both of us raising her brow.
Chris then came back in the house and Chyna and I let go of the hug.
"I had no information about the party so I came here." I announced
"It started already but no one goes as soon as the party starts, it'll be dead as hell." Kae said looking at me brushing her long Indian hair
Her hair is pretty but my weave better.
"We're almost ready, the g2g not that far, it's a few blocks away." Chyna added
I nodded "So we're walking?"
"It's aight, I'm packing." Michael lifted up his shirt and he had a glock tucked in his pants

My eyes bulged "Don't worry Trin, it's just a phone case." Chyna said in a reassuring way "Michael you know damn well you not supposed to be carrying no dumb white people shit like that. Especially since you a black male are you stupid?" Chyna walked over to him and took the phone case out of his pocket
"My bad Chy, I wasn't even planning to bring it. My phone in my back pocket." He pulled her in a hug and rubbed her back
What just happened? I looked around and saw Kae looking right at me, then right past me. I gave her a confused look but felt Chris' presence behind me. He was really close.
"Ya'll ready?" He said in a low voice
The hairs on my neck stood up. I nodded quickly and walked passed him out of the house. I jogged down the front steps and walked over to the gate that's surround the perimeter of the house, leaning on it.
I heard the door open and close behind me but I didn't bother to look "I'm watching you, ya know."
"What?" I asked turning around
I only know his name because of the meme all over the internet but I gave her the ultimate Russel Westbrook face
"I sit behind you in math class everyday, you don't think I see the shit you and Michael be doing?" She folded her arms walking down the stairs and sat on the last step
I nodded folding my arms over my chest too "And what exactly have Michael and I been doing?"
"... I see the way ya'll look at each other. You talk to him the most out of the tree of us. Don't think I would hesitate to tell Chyna, cus I most definitely would."
"Exactly, your point is invalid and irrelevant." I said waving her off
She scrutinized me. She was about to say something but got cut off when everyone was walking out the house down the steps. She got up from the bottom steps and walked out of the gate, bumping me on her way out. Chyna locked both doors and smiled at me on her way out of the gate. I watched as everyone walked out the gate also and started more father down the block. I trailed behind, I couldn't help but to feel guilty, I don't know why. I for sure didn't do anything but I still feel guilty.
I looked up and saw Chris walking slow also in front of me. There was a cloud of smoke surrounding his head and the wind was blowing it right in my face. I couldn't take it anymore so I quickly attempted to walk past him.
"Hey." He said calling after me
I waited so he could catch up to me, but he continued to take his time. I mentally rolled my eyes looking at him.
"I never would've thought that you'd be wearing a pair of Jordan's."
"I have more where that came from." I said lowly
I was bummed out, Kae honestly ruined my whole mood.
His eyes was low, it looked like he was sleep walking "You should wear shit like that more often, it fits you."
I didn't say anything. I would ask what I was gonna ask the other night when I was coming home from my fathers job but what's the point when he's not in the right mind. It's like him being high brings out his real side. It wouldn't hurt to try right?
I looked over at him "Hey, Chris?"
"Christopher." He corrected taking a hit
"...Christopher, can I ask you something."
"Aight."
"Why don't you tal-"
"Guys, say hi to Snapchat!" Kae yelled holding her phone up in the air
I watched as Chyna and Michael both ran up behind Kae yelling into the phone. Kae turned her head around looking at Chris and I. She put her phone down and her face totally changed, not this again.
'''
The house was at least three blocks away and it looked like we were in a whole different neighborhood. All the houses were nice, not one shingle out of place. The house we started walking up to was the prettiest one on the whole block. We began to walk up the porch steps and I could hear Curious by PartyNextDoor playing.
I started humming to it bobbing my head, I love this guy.
"Aight, I see you Trin." Michael said smiling
I gave a small smile looking away, and I don't even have to know if Kae looking at me cus I could feel her. Tonight gonna be a loooong night.
