"Who is it?" China asked from behind the door

"It's Chris China, open the door."

She then opened the door as we were met with a big smile "Hi guys! Hey mama come on in, Merry Christmas." She pulled Mia and my mom in for a hug and nudged me

"Merry Christmas." My mother and Nia said simultaneously

As soon as we all stepped in the house, I immediately heard familiar voices coming from the living room. I was greeted with a warm smile from China's mom. I walked over to her and hugged her, greeting everyone there as she disappeared somewhere in the back of the house. I dapped up Michael and Dominic and nodded at Kae who was standing next to them, just to be civil. She been staring ever since I walked in the house. I turned around and spotted Trinity and her cousin sitting in the love seat, looking down on their phones.

Should I say something or no? I don't wanna be rude but then again I'm not tryna look like a sus boy. I stood there staring at them on the love seat while everyone around me were keeping themselves occupied.

China's relatives were all conversing with each other, the men in the living room watching whatever is on the tv drinking beer and shit and the women in the kitchen with China's mom probably gossiping. And then there's the teens, all in the living room along with the men.

Her cousin looked up from her phone and met my gaze, she instantly started to smirk and nudged Trinity in her side. Trinity looked up from her phone also with her brows furrowed, until she followed her cousins gaze.

Trinity looked at me and smiled a small smile, waving a little bit. I nodded in response as she tucked her hair behind her ears, looking down. She's so damn cute.

Music started playing and Michael eyes instantly got wide "Aw sookie sookie now!" He exclaimed shimmying a little bit

The house immediately roared in laughter knowing exactly what time it is. Once Ms. White bring out her Toni Braxton's Christmas album it's officially Christmas time and the party has begun.

China's mom came out the kitchen wiping her hands on a dish rag "China take your friends upstairs, it's adult time now."

The elders laughed and China responded with an eye roll. "let's go guys."

Everyone including Trinity and her cousin, who's name I still don't remember, got up and followed her up the stair case.

Before I did, I shook Trinity's father hand who I didn't see before when I came in. Once we got upstairs, we went up another flight of stairs and we reached her attic.

"Shit, we ain't been up here in a while." Dominic spoke up

"That's a fact." Kae agreed

"I love it up here China." The cousin spoke up taking a seat in one of the chairs

Trinity sat in the seat next to her which made Dom and I automatically lay on the floor in front of them.

Kae having no where to sit, awkwardly walked over to the bed and sat in front of it on the floor.

"Thank you Jasmine." She smiled at her genuinely

When the hell did they get acquainted? China friendly with every damn new person she meets.

"We be up here every family gathering of mine. When was the last time we was up here?" China asked

She looked at all of us and laid on the bed with Michael following her.

"Thanksgiving." Michael answered

A bunch of "oh yeah's" and "throwback Thursday's" were being thrown across the room as we all reminisced.

"Bae, look in your shirt and spell attic fast." Michael randomly said with his phone in the air which I'm assuming he's snap chatting it

"What?" China asked looking at him genuinely confused and then into the camera

He kissed his teeth "Just do it, no Nike."

She sighed and looked in her shirt "A titty I see." She instantly looked at him with a straight face and slapped him his chest "Corny ass nigga." She smiled

He started laughing rubbing his chest and then kissed her on the temple. I looked away and snuck a glance at Trinity who was still on her phone.

"So." I spoke up which immediately caused the both of them to look up at me

"Oh shit!" China shot up from the bed

"What happened?" Everyone asked confused from her random ass outburst

"It was Mimi's boyfriend who got shot yesterday." She responded staring at her phone

Trinity tensed up.

"He lived though." She added

"Which one is Mimi again?" Michael asked

"One of the females in Burger King who was with Tyra." Dominic answered

"Oh, the bitches who tried starting with me and Trinity?" Jasmine asked looking at Dominic who nodded

"It should've been her ass." She mumbled

I looked at her caught off guard

"Woah, when was this?" China asked sitting on the edge of the bed next to Kae

"Two nights ago." Trinity said

"Y'all all was there?" Kae asked looking at me but I ain't answer

"Yeah, they was about to get it on in the middle of the Burger King." Michael said cracking up

"Trinity, you was about to fight?" China asked astonished

"Only because it was like three of them against Jasmine." She responded doing a handshake with her

"Yeah right." Kae tested her smirking

Trinity scrutinized her and started shaking her leg. Dominic looked at her shaking her leg as an uneasy look plastered on his face.

"Please don't." Jasmine said scrolling through her phone "Because if I show you this video of Trinity getting it on with two girls..."

"Two girls!" Michael yelled jumping off the bed, running over to Jasmine

Once yelling and screaming came from her phone, everyone except Kae ran over to her looking at her phone, including me.

Trinity had straight hair in the video with baggy sweats and a tank top. She was fighting a girl who honesty had no hands and was losing. Then another girl jumped in hitting Trinity in the head. She reacted by kicking the first girl hard on the floor and then getting it on with the second girl. Jasmine was the loudest of all of them talking about

"We don't do that jumping shit, pussy!"

"Beat that ass Trin!"

"Get her on the floor!"

"Bitch shaped like a Hatchback! Fat back bitch!"

We all all was dying from the crazy shit she was saying. When the video ended, we dispersed and went back to our previous seats. Kae was still in her spot looking salty as ever as Trinity shot her a mischievous look.

I chuckled and Trinity looked at me. She smiled at me then looked away as Jasmine started showing her something on the phone.

Maybe I judged Trinity too fast, I really don't know her like that. When I first met her she acted like her shit didn't stink, she changed over the three months she's been here.

"Damn Trinity, my fault for underestimating you. Now I know who to go to when bitches getting out of pocket." Michael said

Everyone agreed and I just shrugged. I don't want to be that person that fight for no reason, I'd rather fight for family or because I have to defend myself. Like people like Kae, having it out for me for no reason at all. I hate the person I become when I'm fighting, it's not me.

"So Jasmine, where are you from?" China asked

I love China so much. She's just so genuine and welcoming. Her personality is amazing and she's on of the nicest person I have ever met. I adore her.

"Compton, California." She said proudly which made me proud

I only stepped foot in Compton to see her and my father side of the family, which was occasional but I'm glad to see she's representing where she's really from.

"Is Compton bad as they say?" Dominic asked

"I don't know what they say, but its far from comparable to New York."

"Is that a good or bad thing?"

"Bad." She responded

"Hey Jasmine, when are you going back home?" Kae asked with her head cocked to the side playing confused

I scrutinized her about to check her, but Jasmine beat me to it "Don't worry mamas, you'll get all the attention back that I have and you want when I leave in January." She mustered up one of the fakes smiles I have ever seen

I snorted laughing shaking my head. Kaelyn needs to stop picking fights before Jasmine get real angry. I looked around the room and saw China smirking, Michael stifling a laugh nearly turning red, Dominic smiling on his phone and Chris staring blatantly at me.

I looked at him sideways but China's mom called us from downstairs to eat which caught all of our attention. Everyone raced down the attic steps almost falling on each other. It was funny. But what wasn't funny was the way Chris was acting. I haven't spoke to him since that weekend when he came over my house to tutor me and we kissed. Now he's constantly staring at me, not even caring if I catch him or not. Like he wants me to know he's staring at me.

Look at me trying to get over him and leave him alone while all I can do I think about him.
