Here they are again, its ya boys! Frankly, this being another songfic, I have actually never seen this song despite having watched a lot of Steven Universe, but it fit really well for these two.
I tried to apply the idea in the song that at least one of the people being referred to wasn't used to being somewhere different other than where they normally were.
The song is "Be Wherever You Are" from Steven Universe by Rebecca Sugar
The song lyrics are in italics

Green found himself him staring out into the water from his spot at the edge of Palette town. He had been gym leader for six years, and he still was, but today was special for him.
Isnt this such a beautiful night?
Green watched as the last bits of the sunset fell over the edge of the horizon, he leaned back a little, bracing himself on his hands. His hand touched something soft and he looked over at the boy next to him.
Red kept staring ahead, blankly. Green had a hard time reading his facial expressions, the boys eyes reflected the beautiful dark water. He had seen this blank expression many times, but this time seemed a bit more... serene.
Whoa, we're underneath a thousand shining stars
Green looked up away from Red, taking in the stars that were now coming into view. His hand had moved a little bit away from Red's, trying to play it off as if he hadn't noticed.
It was a quiet evening, with a nice breeze. Every now and then the splash from a Poliwag permeated the silence between them.
Isnt it nice to find yourself somewhere different?
Green had been surprised when Red had come to visit him. Usually he was the one who visited Red, but he had been extremely busy lately with the gym. Next thing he knew Red was at his door, and now here they were.

He wondered if Red liked being off of the mountain, or if he even liked being up there. It was a little unclear to Green, when he asked he got an answer, but it seemed that Red himself was also unsure.
He wished that Red would hang out with him more often.
Whoa, why don't you let yourself just be wherever you are?
If Red wanted to stay on the mountain, Green wouldn't stop him, but he wished that Red would stay here. Green wanted him to be happy of course, but he also wanted him to be close.
Green found himself staring at the boy again, only this time Red looked back at him with a smile. Green's heart stopped, and if Red had held up that smile for a second longer, he might've burst, but instead he looked back at the sky again.
Green leaned back, laying with his hands behind his head. He could now see Red's face without having to look over. This time Red had an expression of pure, unfiltered, happiness.
Look at this place, look at your faces, I've never seen you look like this before
Green felt the night slow as he took in everything about the other. He looked like he was enjoying himself, an emotion that Green had never seen, even when they were kids.
But there was something familiar about it, as if his own emotions were being reflected in the one next to him. He didn't know what this was, but he liked the feeling.
Isn't it nice to find yourself somewhere different?
Green though about breaking the silence, it was nice, he didn't know if they would be able to keep up this mood after he spoke, but he went for it anyway.
"How does it feel to be back?" He asked, it was the first they had spoken at all, other than when Red had pointed to the water in a gesture that implied that he wanted Green to sit with him.

Red began to sign and Green focused on his hands. The hands that had once thrown Pokeballs as a challenge to Green, but were now icy and cold with isolation, but he felt that they were warming up again.
"Familiar, but different." Green repeated back, making sure that he had interpreted right. He didn't know much sign language so he always liked to check with Red so he didn't mix up his words.
Red nodded.
Whoa, why don't you let yourself just be wherever you are?
"A good different?" Green asked, his hand reaching out without much thought, touching Red's hand again, but this time he didn't pull away.
Red sat silent for a second, and Green was afraid that he had done something to upset him. He was about to let go of Red's hand when he felt the boy interlace their fingers.
Red smiled back at him again and nodded.
Look at this place, look at your faces, they're shining like a thousand stars
Red now turned to Green, the smile still present and Green felt like he was dreaming. Against the starlit background, Red looked like an angel.
"I'm really happy that I'm here right now." He signed, his hand leaving Greens momentarily to complete the sign, but returning afterwords.
Green knew he was staring this time, but he couldn't stop it, he sat in awe as he barely comprehended Red's words, but then again he doubted that Red could comprehend how much it meant to him.
Isn't it nice to find yourself somewhere different?
As Red grinned at him like he had never seen before, a feeling swelled in his chest. He sat up suddenly, startling the other boy for a moment. He looked down at their interlocked fingers as if for confirmation before looking back up at Red.
"I love you." He stated loudly, catching Red off guard. For a moment there was silence, and Red lifted one hand to hide his face. Green felt a rush of pressure as the weight of his words finally beared down on him.
Whoa, why don't you let yourself just be wherever you are?
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to rush that on you! Umm, If you want to go back to your mountain I understand I don't want to stop yo-"
Green was cut off when he went to pull away, and the Red's grip on his got stronger. He cut off his words, gulping audibly. Green's train of thought was a little more bold now, a flash of courage coursing though him.
"But, if its it's okay with you, I want you to stay." He said.
Why don't you let yourself be somewhere different?
Red leaned over onto Green's shoulder, hand still over his face, covering his expression, but Green could tell by his ears that his face reflected his name.
Green face was probably just as red, but he took a deep breath, decided to rather revel in the boy's presence than get flustered an mess everything up. Red nodded against him and for a moment he forgot what he was responding to.
Whoa, why don't you let yourself just be whoever you are?
He was staying.
After all those years of separation and putting up fronts it was over. He wanted to be with Green, just as much as Green wanted to be with him.
Green's heart soared.
They sat like that for a while, staring at the stars. Both just wanting to be with the other.

The Girl Named Rino
Oh. Hello. I didn't see you come in. No, don't worry. I don't need to hear your name. I already know what it is. I also knew that you'd come up at around this time. But, at the same time, I also didn't know. It's very hard to put into words - but that's what happens when you become the Chaos God. Your psyche gets messed up, big time. That's even more so for me, who was already warped enough to confuse reality with imagination - and, even make the rest of the universe believe that it was so. But, enough about me. Let's talk about you. You seem to come from a very far away land. It's faint, but your presence is there - in a relatively primitive planet. No wonder, no one wanted to stay in, or conquer your region of the universe - there's nothing worth controlling there. Your existence, much like your entire solar system, also seems to be pretty insignificant. Tell me, is your race capable of destroying your own world? Oh, you're already well along the way? Global Warming? Pollution? Overpopulation? Nuclear weapons? Wow... it's been many millenia since I'd last heard of such ancient concepts from someone who is actually living through it. Still, good job getting that far. That means that your world is now, at least, worth considering as a possible place to install a World System. If I find the time, I'll try surveying it. You can just thank me, later. Oh wait! What kind of person am I, not even offering my guest any hospitality. I'm ashamed. Please, take a seat. What would you like? I have everything the multiverse has to offer, whatever it is you want - I can get. Ah! After we talk, would you mind, if I asked you to do me a tiny favor? There's this girl, I want to keep tabs on. She's in one of the Worlds that I preside over, it's called Aiarthe. But, for some reason, I can't see her - not directly, at least. All I need you to do, is check up on her from time to time. Whether you do it as a pure spectator or through someone else's eyes, is entirely up to you. Really!? You would!? Wow! Thanks! You really did me, a huge solid there! For agreeing so quickly, how about I get started on surveying that planet of yours, right now!? You can help yourself, to anything in the fridge! Well, see ya!
