born to make history
A voice said as soon as Clary walked into a kitchen right behind her sister, Bella. "You must be Clary, the outgoing sister." A woman who looks no older than thirty, walked towards Clary, enveloping her in a hug, but Clary being who she is, pushed her away, her green eyes narrowed. The woman frowned but didn't say anything about it as she introduced herself. "I'm Esme."
"Oh, you're the mother," Clary said, looking behind Esme at Emmett, the boy who looks like he eats boulders and Rosalie who looked like a beauty queen. Emmett offered a friendly smile as Rosalie glared at both sister's, not liking the fact that they were humans in her house, in her life, and breathing the same air as her.
"Hey, Clary!" A cheery, pixie looking girl bounded through the window, smiling widely at the red head, her name being Alice. Jasper, the blonde who tried to call Clary down a few days ago, followed behind his girlfriend, his eyes widening at the sight of Clary, he could still feel the ever-growing rage inside her. It seemed to have grown more the last time he had seen her, which is something he didn't think was possible.
Clary looked around at everyone just as Edward entered, immediately moving towards Bella who lit up at the arrival of her boyfriend. They kissed which made Clary glance away, a far away look in her eyes, something that looked like pain. Jasper was the only one that had noticed, though, due to him feeling it.
She was thinking about her boyfriend, the one she had accidently killed when she was fifteen, which was two years ago. They were having the time of their lives at one of Lizzie Saltzman's famous parties, but it didn't end well due to him gettiny drunk and trying to force himself on her. Of course, she wasn't having it, and she pushed him away, harshly. He ended up hitting a tree, breaking his neck -- it killed him immediately. She had cried for days on end, months even. She was completely in love with him, thinking that they were gonna stay together forever, married, and with children. And that is why she was completely devastated and still is. She still isn't over his death and she doesn't think she ever will be.

"Clary?"
Clary turned around to face Bella, a bored look overtaking her face upon realizing that she let her guard down for a good moment. "What?!" She spat, putting her guard back up, her face hard, her eyes narrowed, and her anger back, something that Jasper could sense, making him frown.
"I'm home," a very handsome man with blonde hair announced as he walked into the room, his smile catching Clary off guard. She might be a hard person, but she's not blind, she can still notice a handsome being, and he was quite delicious. "Oh. You must be the famous Clary Swa—"
Before Carlisle could finish his sentence, Clary cut him off. "Saltzman. Clary Saltzman. I am not a swan nor will I ever be, so don't call me by that name." She was blunt and firm, making sure everyone heard her, even Bella. She and Bella might've had a small moment where she, herself, told Bella her feelings, but that didn't mean that they were friends, let alone sister's. She will never see Bella as a sister, especially not like Lizzie, Josie or Hope.
"I'm sorry," Carisle apologized, glancing over at a hurt Bella. "It's just that..."
"Bella is my half sister, not that I even think of her as that much," Clary stated. "I haven't seen her nor Charlie since I was four. I have a new father and sister's now, I don't need her." She told the truth, not holding back, not even for the sake of Bella's feelings.
Jasper looked over at Bella, feeling her sadness. She even had tears in her brown eyes, but she did not let them fall. She understood where Clary was coming from, so she didn't say anything.
"Where's the food?" Clary asked after a moment of silence.

"I actually like you," Rosialie said, smiling at the blunt 'human'. She could see herself in the fiery red head. "I think we're going to be great friends."
"I don't need friends," Clary said, making Rosialie drop her smile. "I have all I need back at home, I don't need anyone else." She looked away from the blonde beauty. "So, where's the food?"
Esme, even though she didn't like what Clary was saying, couldn't help but see how truly broken the true girl was, so she didn't take much to heart. "Right this way, sweetheart." She showed her to the table which had tons of food set out everywhere. She sat down first and began to fill her plate as did everyone else, though the Cullen's weren't going to eat, but they had to act a little human due to Clary being there. They didn't know about her and she didn't know about them.
As Clary dug into her food, she didn't pay attention to anyone else until she got to her second plate. Her green eyes finally glanced up, away from her food, and saw how only she and Bella were eating, and how the Cullen's haven't even touched their food, not even once.
"Aren't you going to eat your own food?" Clary questioned, raising an eyebrow.
"We were just surprised how fast you ate your food," Esme came to the rescue, speaking up for her and her family.
Clary smirked. "I just love food." She went back to devouring her food, finishing her plate in minutes, burping in satisfaction.
Emmett was the one who broke the silence after her burp. "God! You are amazing!" He boomed, his smile wide and cute. Clary couldn't help but let her mouth twitched up, something everyone else could see, but didn't say anything about. They all knew she was just a sensitive girl underneath all the anger and sarcastic replies. They knew she was just trying to push herself away from people just so she wouldn't get hurt and so others wouldn't get hurt.
The rest of her time at the Cullen's, she couldn't help but to see that they weren't very comfortable and that they hadn't even taken one bite of their food. She didn't question anything further, but she did know something was up and was going to find out anything she can about them.
Clary was in her room, on her laptop, typing away, searching, trying to find one piece of information that led her to what was up with the Cullen's, but nothing. There was absolutely nothing, but Clary didn't give up, she never gave up. She will continue to search until she found the answer.

Flame Beneath The Snowfall
Alto is a world governed by Tones. Magic, as one might call it. Manifested through deep mental and physical conditioning, one can control the Tones in a way that is unique to them. The power to store items in gems, transfer life, affect a person's mind, and even the more primal abilities such as control of the elements. Those who have these supernatural abilities are called 'Vassals.' People that fully manifest their abilities are not as common as one might think, and not all Vassals acquire their ability through practice, given if conditions are met. In fact, those who had received much trauma manifest the Tones more frequently, albeit spontaneously. However, the rare kind of Vassals are those who manifest it from childhood. A gift, but not without its repercussions. Alto is stuck in a transitional era, where the line between modern and dated technology is blurred. One can travel to a city that has a tall skyline, bustling with people in sophisticated clothing, or a mere town governed by a lord, all the while riding on a powered vehicle. Cultures vary: Some turn to the more dated practices such as castes, others are more inclined to set equal footing on their people, led by nobility. Some are dedicated to become scholars, studying Alto's Tones, while others set foot on hunts, protecting lone towns from the creatures of some of the still-untamed lands. And the Vassals? Those willing are took under The Organization, an elusive group, its presence said to permeate all throughout Alto, taking care of Rogue Vassals that abuse their abilities and other businesses related to their side. But what is this story all about, you may ask? Well, set your sights on the upper portions of this huge landmass that is Alto. Yes, the 'whole' world is called Alto, but that is because the majority of the known people live on this large continent. Relieve yourself of the worrying tensions everywhere, and see the white snow. Trace the piercing mountaintops and focus your eyes between the valley. A town sits there. Mido. After realizing that the memories only left in his mind was the night of his town's imminent destruction in flames, a boy finds himself grasping for every fiber of his life as he lays down flat on the ground. Beneath him was soot mixed with the white snow. Fortunately, a group of investigators, who were supposed to answer their call for help, saved him from his sorry state. With a newfound second wind, but hampered by his loss of memory, he must solve his own case: Who had the audacity to set Mido, his town, aflame? Flame Beneath the Snowfall focuses on action, with a sense of adventure, but mostly the discovery of an outside world, and the protagonist's exposure to it. Add in a whisk of soft magical elements, and you get a story that I hope will be interesting to the readers. That is not to say that my work is without the sense of unnerving atmosphere, however. As a forewarning, there are elements of gore, horror, minor elements of mental trauma, etc. so it is not for all audiences. *The book is already completed. Although I have plans to continue the story (it would have to involve much larger scope in terms of world-building), I have yet to decide when to start the next entry.
