in the mirror for the last time. My lace white crop top, with lace cotton shorts and my cardigan. My white and peach flats looking perfect with my clothes. I wear my black bracelets with my necklace.
I walk out to see Christian talking on his phone, in fluent Italian.
"Si." He says. "Marco--" He cuts himself just as he lays his eyes on me. "Ti chiamo più tardi." Keeping his heated gaze on me making me beat faster.
He comes towards me like a predator towards his prey, making me step back until my back hits the closet door.
He cages me in placing his one hand on my bare waist, his intoxicating invading my senses. "You look absolutely ravishing, baby."
"And you look handsome." I eye his full white suit.
Oh, we are matching!
"Yes, we are Princess." He chuckles.
"I said it out loud." I blush.
"Why do you have to be so damn adorable?" With that, he slides his hand in my hair fisting it making me moan then claiming my lips for an intense kiss.
His tongue invading my mouth makes me go weak in my knees. He rests his forehead against me. "Let's go."
"Wait!"
He raises his eyebrow and smirks at me when I remove his tie, unbuttoning his first two buttons.
"Babe, can we do it once we are back?" He asked amused.
I roll my eyes and move my hand across his hair, messing it up a little bit. "Now you look hotter."
He pecks my lips. "You're too good for me."
I laugh. "Christian! Don't say that." I say, "Let's go."
I take my hand in his, intertwining our fingers together.
"So where are we going?"
He takes a breath. "To see my mom."
"Your mom?" I ask with wide eyes.
"Yes." He replied. "Why? What's wrong?"
I suddenly start freaking out. "What if she doesn't like? Or even worse, hates me?"
Christian laughs at me. "You are worried about that?" I nod. "You don't have to worry. She already knows how amazing you are and already loves you. One thing she doesn't know is that you are the most beautiful girl on this planet. But she will. Soon." He winks. "And you already talked here before we came here. You'll be fine."
"She doesn't live here?" I ask.
"No." He replies. "She will be soon."
What?

We step down the stairs and outside to see a black dodge Viper waiting for us.
Christian opens the door for me like a gentleman he is. Christian goes to the other side and the door is opened for him. He gets seated and we are off.
"Italy is so beautiful," I say with a big smile as we enter the city.
"Yeah, it is." He also smiles. "How come you are fluent in Italian?"
My smile drops. "My biological parents were Italian, I guess."
"Oh."
"I always tried my best to remember this language, because it felt like it was a part of who I was, I don't know." I shrug resting my head back.
He holds my hand tightly. "It's okay. You're perfect either way."
No, I'm not. I think but stay quiet not wanting to ruin his great mood.

We pull up in a hospital.
A freaking hospital!
"Christian?"
He looks at me, "Come on."
We get off the car and into the hospital. Everyone leaves everything when he enters. The doctors stood tall and more alert, the same with the other staff.
I could practically feel the fear radiating off of them.
Christian ignores them all, leading me to an elevator.
"What was that?" I ask referring to the scared people out there.
He shrugs. I roll my eyes, annoyed.
We walk down the hallway and are standing outside a door. He takes a deep breath and gives me a short kiss.
"You ready?"
I nod my head. He nods back squeezing my hand.
He opens the door and walks in, I follow in behind.
"Hey, mom." Christian greets softly running towards his mom squeezing her in a tight hug.
"My baby, where were you? I haven't seen you like in a month." His mother cries.
"I'm sorry mom." He kisses her head and pulls back.
I stand there looking at their love for each other until his mom sets her eye on me.
She gasps. "She is beautiful!"
She is the one to talk to. This woman is gorgeous.
I blush under her gaze. "Thank you."
Christian comes and stands next to me. "Mom. Meet my goddess, Victoria Forbes. Baby, meet my mom, Karla."
"It's so nice to meet you, Mrs. Vasquez" We stand beside her bed.
She pulls me in a hug. "Call me Karla, sweetie."
I hug her back, thinking my mom used to hug me like that. Such a soft motherly hug, full of love.
"You are so beautiful, Mrs-- I mean Karla." I chuckle. "Now I see where Christian gets his looks from."

She laughs. "Thank you, sweetie."
"You guys bond, I'll go talk to the doctor." Christian gives us both a kiss on the cheek.
"You guys are so cute." She squeals. "That boy is so in love."
I choke on my own spit. "W-what?"
"Don't tell me you are one of those clueless girls who can't see that her boyfriend is in love with her." She narrows her eyes.
"I'm not but we have known each other for about a month." I reason.
"And yet you are here meeting his mom." She counters. "I know my son very well, and let me tell you he is in love with you."
I am left speechless.
Christian loves me?
Me.
But I am not capable of being loved. I cannot be loved. I'm not worth anyone's love.
"Sweetie don't overthink and answer my one question." She says. "Can you see yourself without him in your future? Can you live without him?"
I don't hesitate to answer. "No. I can't live without him." I shake my head with tears. "I can't."
He has been in my life for a very short time but has changed my life for the better.
"You got your answer sweetie." She holds my hands.
"Um... Karla?"
"Yes, dear?"
"I don't want to intrude or anything but... do you... do you have...-" I say glancing at the cap on top of her head.
"Yes sweetie I have cancer." This was enough for me to have a breakdown but I handled myself.
"Which one?" I breathe out.
"Breast cancer." I nod.
The door opens making me snap my head towards it. An angry Christian barges in with a file in his hand.
"Victoria." I stand up. "Tell me what's written in this file. That doctor isn't telling me anything." He stresses out. His breathing uneven and his fist clenched.
"I will, just sit down first and take a deep breath." I put on hand on his cheeks pushing him down on the chair.
I peck his lips lightly. "Give me the file," I whisper.
I read the file very thoroughly.
"I want the report of her last tests," I say reading the file.
Christian hurries and gives me the report from the drawer.
I read it thoroughly as well.
"Where's her doctor?" I ask. "Take me to him."
I'm already out of the room. Christian takes me to his office where I barge in without knocking and slapping the file on his table making him flinch back.
"Who are you?" He asks me.
"Doesn't matter. What matters is how you are fucking treating your patient, Karla. With her being so weak you had set 3 damn chemo sessions a week for her when there should have been 2. The cancer wasn't killing her but the exertion you gave her is making her cancer fucking worse."
I continue. "You should have fucking operated her the minute you got her reports. She is so weak now but in a few weeks, she will be ready for an operation to remove her tumor, if the chemo stops. And what you guys are fucking doing, you could get fucking sued, you asshole."
The Doctor looks at me with wide eyes. I look at a confused Christian. "Who fucking gave this airhead the job?!"
"What are you saying?" Christian asks with a deep voice. The vein in his forehead throbbing. waiting for me to confirm his suspicions.
"This fucking man is killing your mom!" I point at the doctor.
This flipped a switch in his mind. His eyes became dark, full of rage, confusion, sadness. I didn't even see anything, just when the body dropped on the ground.
Christian punched him.
Well duh, he deserved it.
I drag Christian into his mom's room. There sat a crying Karla. Christian takes no time and hugs her. "You heard?"
She forces out a laugh. "Si, Your girlfriend was pretty damn loud."
Even I laugh at this.
"And who knew the American Bellezza could curse like a sailor." She winks at me.
"See remember I told you she has a heart of gold, she just met you, and look at what she is doing for you." He glances at me. "For us."
Karla tells me to sit next to her. Christian scoots back making space for me but still wraps his arms around me from behind and his chin on my shoulder.
"Victoria, honey. What are you doing for us, I will forever be thankful to you." She strokes my face.
I hold her hand in mine. "What are you even thankful for, I did what a sane person would do and as a doctor, an oncologist too, that is."
"You're a doctor?" I nod.
"Just got my residency," I say. "And secondly the most important thing. I just found a beautiful, brave, strong, and full of courageous women that gave Christian the life he deserves. I won't let anything happen to her."
A tear slips my eye.
"I already lost my dad to cancer, I won't let you too."
