"--I will be there to take care of her, don't worry." I turn my head giving him a reassuring smile.
"Okay." He says. "I'll get the discharge papers."
He goes to the door to leave but turns back and kisses me hard taking my breath away. He rests his forehead against mine. "Thank you."
"I swear to god Christian if you ever thank me, I will--"
"You will what?" He grins.
I pout and cross my arms. "Not kiss you for a week."
He gasps. "You wouldn't."
I smirk. "Try me, babe."
He huffs, "Fine." A grin covers his face. "Now can I get a kiss?"
I kiss the corner of his mouth. "Now hurry away."
Karla screams with excitement next to us. "You guys are so cute."
I blush looking away. Damn it, I forgot she was still here.
Christian chuckles at me while tuning away leaving.

"Aunt Karla," Amara screams and crushes her in a big hug.

"How are you back?" She releases her.
Karla looks at me. "My daughter-in-law can be very persuasive."
"Daughter-in-law?" Amara looks at me "You guys are married and you didn't tell us?!" She looks mad.
"Uh- Wha- No!" I finally let out. "I'm not married to him." I look at Christian. Standing all emotionless.
"Whatever, I don't care." Karla starts. "I will make Chris marry her even if he doesn't want to. I also want grandchildren."
Before I could say anything Christian interjects. "Amara please settle mother in her room, we will come to check up on her soon."
With that, he drags me away to his room. "What was that?"
"What was what?" He asks innocently.
"You know what!"
"What?"
"The thing you did down there?"
"Did what?"
"The whole 'I - don't - give - a - fuck' facade."
"I don't know what you are talking about."
I sigh and sit on the bed putting my head in my hands. "Christian I don't understand you. You were fine there in Seattle but since we came here, I feel like..."
He kneels next to me. "Feel like what?"
"I'm losing you."
He wipes the tear slipping down my face.
"I can't lose you too Christian." My voice breaks. "I can't lose you."
"You are not losing me, baby." He cups my cheek. "I'm not going anywhere."
I take his other hand bringing it to my mouth and kissing his palm.
"And now I am going to tell you everything you deserve to know." He says. "I am a selfish man that cannot let you walk away from me. So you should know what you are getting yourself into, and when everything is better, you can leave if you want to."

I just stare at him.
He takes my hand, "Come on."
He gives me time to change in some comfy clothes which consist of a pair of black yoga pants and a white cropped hoodie. He also changes and leads me to the door that I saw in his closet. When we enter... Holy fuck.
It's a really big... man cave. Yeah, that's the word for it. A big couch, a big tv, a pool table. And the best part, a balcony with many beautiful flowers, plants, and a jacuzzi. A small garden also presents there. A gazebo on one side and a view of a beautiful chain of mountains and trees. I take in the view.
"Wow," I breathe out. "It's beautiful."
"Yeah."
I turn to look at Christian to see he's already staring at me. I blush and turn back to the view and leaning onto the railing.
He leads me to the grass and sits down leaning against the wall for support. I follow suit. We don't talk for a while.
"You never told me about your Dad." he starts. " I thought he was still alive but not around anymore."
I knew this was coming.
"I meant to tell you, but it never came up," I say. "Sorry, but I don't like talking about it."
"It's okay," he strokes my cheek.
I sit in silence while Christian looks like he is in deep thought.
"I don't know where to start." Christian chuckles nervously.
"Why don't you start from the beginning?" I tell him.
"Okay." He breathes out. "I don't think you would want to do anything with me later on, I am willing to take the risk to keep you protected."
"I am not going to leave you, no matter what," I promise.
He takes a deep breath, "I'm in a mafia."
