~ a week later ~
in a week, so many things have happened to the couple. kwangji has taken her on mini-dates, such as getting coffee together to eating ice cream in the company. as much as he was enjoying himself of living in his little fantasy, she still didn't have the thought of liking him back.
can you meet me after school at the coffee shop? we need to talk
she got the message while eating lunch with her friend.
"who's that from, your boyfriend?" miso teased, looking over at y/n's phone.
y/n caught her and flipped her screen. "n-no, it is just a friend." she lied, smiling.
"come on, y/n! we're best friends. you know you have to tell me everything."
"fine. it is."
"ooh! what did he say?"
"he wants to see me after school."
"my y/n is growing up! you know-"
"miso!" a group of girls called her. the two looked at the group, and y/n just sighed.
"i'll be back, okay?" miso reassured, grabbing her stuff and leaving y/n alone at the lunch table. y/n just nodded, feeling a little bitter. she changed so much ever since she started hanging with them. she thought to herself, sighing. she then turned to her phone and replied to kwangji.
see you there
~ time skips ~
y/n walked to the coffee shop with her backpack on her shoulders and her phone in her hand. she wondered why kwangji wanted to see her so badly.
she was greeted by him, who bought her her favorite coffee.
"chae y/n!" he exclaimed, hugging her. she hugged him back and felt a little uneasy.
"hey!" she responded while smiling, letting go of the hug.
"so, how did school go?"
"the same things, not interesting. and you?"

"same here. i couldn't wait to see you because you have something to tell me."
"i do?"
"yeah. today is the last day of the trial. remember last week you said you'd tell me?"
she has been feeling too overwhelmed with him liking her. she now missed the feeling of getting away with everything and flirting with him.
"oh yeah, about that. my answer is no."
his heart sank, and his jaw dropped.
"wh-what?"
"i said no."
"did i do something wrong? why don't you like me anymore?"
"i never said i liked you at all in the first place."
"you flirted with me and everything y/n! you lead me on!"
"i-i did?"
"oh, come on now, stop pretending. you knew you were going to do that."
she was shocked by his mood now. it was something she never saw before. "i didn't mean to do it intentionally. i'm sorry if i hurt you."
"stop it y/n. i can't believe you would do that to your own friend."
"but-"
"i'm disappointed in you. you played with my feelings, and now you wanna play the victim?"
"i-"
"i'm offended. you were the first girl that made me fall in love completely. thanks a lot."
"let-"
"i never want to see or talk to you again. you'll see what happens next with you and your future."
he stood up, opened his coffee cup, and splashed her with his drink. he stormed off while shaking his head, and y/n was now covered in the hot liquid. she put her head down on the table and cried. she never meant to hurt him and to lose one of her very close friends. however, she learned something new that day; something called "leading on a boy".
y/n just stood up and threw the two cups away. walking back to her house, she thought of a lie she could tell her mother of why she was crying. little did y/n know what was coming up for her.
