day - january 25th
my brain is filled with thoughts and questions that was all but a mystery to me. my visage stares at changkyun, who was observing the view outside through the agape apertures. "tell me, changkyun. how long have you had joonwoo?"
his head rotates, staring right in my direction and releases a sorrowful sigh. "a couple weeks, maybe. perhaps, even more than that, i lost count.
"and you've been trying to search everywhere for his parents?
"..."
my eyes never wavered, and resumed staring into his eyes waiting for an answer. "as much as i love that little guy, i looked a little bit around my area... then i just gave up."
"how come?"
changkyun marches toward me. he lowers himself so our faces are at the same level. his sparkling brown orbs emit that raw emotion of melancholy, the similar ones i saw the first day i met him. his lips began to quiver, suppressing the urge to cry.
"because i grew attached to joonwoo. the way he lit up my empty apartment, he made my entire life so much better."
both my hands held his cheeks, to remind him that he's done his best. "and you have been such a great father to him. everyday, you did all you could to make him happy. but, he's not your... our kid."
all of a sudden, tears started pouring out of my eyes. it hasn't been more than a week or so, but all my time was occupied with the two of them were the times that i never felt any happier.
"." he looks at me, wiping off the tears from my eyes. "i honestly have to thank joonwoo again too."
"for what?" the moon starts to illuminate, and i saw changkyun's features even more. his eyes were on me the whole time, and he began to traced his thumb from my cheeks to my lips.
he breathes out, "he led me to you."
