"mommy..."

"yes, joonwoo?" turning my head towards him, his eyes filled with curiosity and confusion. i sat up a little, positioning myself to hear him and give joonwoo my undivided attention.

"i just remembered something."

i hummed in response to his words.

"the other day, i kept dreaming about this little boy who has the same name as me. he kept telling me to take care of you and daddy. and he also told me that i was his brother."

my eyes widen from what joonwoo had just said. i was quite astonished at the fact that this turn of events was quite unexpected. i feel the tears fill up in my eyes and see blurs.

"mommy, are you okay? you're crying."

"yeah, mommy just got emotional. i'm sorry, joonwoo."

joonwoo embraces me, and i do the same. he may not understand the circumstances but he gives the most support and affection to someone who needs it the most. we're lucky to have him.

"want me to tell you about the little boy in your story?"

"yes, was he nice?"

"he was an amazing kid, just like you."
