《Barrier Alice | ✔》[19]

It was 3 am and she woke up. For some reason, she can't sleep all that well, like something is bugging her at the back of her mind. She looked around and saw her brothers and sisters sprawled around her bed- sleep soundly after a few rounds of card game- well except for yoi-chan. He sleeps soundly in her baby cot.
Prying Sophie's hand from hugging her arm, she slowly walked to the toilet and changed her clothes to her outdoor wear. She decided to have a midnight walk to help her calm.
She wore a long overcoat with checker black and brown pattern and took a pouch which filled with ointment and some healing stone that was gifted by Kao-baa san 2 months ago. Lastly, she wore a black mask with a small sakura flower at the corner - a mask that covers half of her face. She then tied her hair into a bun and hide it inside a black beanie.
Felt that she is warm enough and decided that her identity was properly hidden, she leaped out of her room through her window. She was on the second floor so jumping down is not a big deal. Then, she proceeds to walk into the forest beside the elementary dorm. It's the northern wood forest.
Now, don't get her wrong, yes, the northern wood, is someway, somehow dangerous. There's mr.bear hut, moving trees and many unknown things. But first, she has a barrier Alice, which pretty much protect her. And second, amidst the 'dangerously weird forest', there's this rainbow-colored lake somewhere in the middle of it. She stumbled upon it a few months ago when searching for a larger training ground. It was beautiful and breathtaking. Oh! And she also found a training ground too later, but nowhere near the lake.

Decided that tonight is one of those rare nights where she is alone, and can't sleep, she wanted to venture into the forest and went straight to the lake.
Who knows, maybe that lake has special property that could maybe improved Alice or something?
She was bemused in her own thoughts that she did not realize a boy with a cat mask tumble out of the bushes not far from her. Only when she heard a solid thud that she realized somebody had fainted nearby.
Not far from here, she saw that guy struggling to stand.
Wait. is that...
"Hyuuga-kun?"
At her soft voice, carry out that name, the boy, none other than Natsume whip his face towards her direction. He was in so much pain and shocked. Shocked that he met someone else here who seems to know him. Refused to be approached by strangers, Natsume struggled against his heavy leg and tried to walk away.
However, to no avail, he fell down for the umpteenth time. Amy knowing Natsume is in so much pain, she quickly walked towards him.
He has bleeding; concussion on his head, and his left leg. It looks like something sharp pierced it. And his face is pale.
Observation and question can wait. I need to provide emergency treatment first.
She immediately opens up her pouch, revealing bandage, ointments, water, and healing Alice stone. When she realized that Natsume wanted to get away, she quickly pushes him to lay down again while sending a stern gaze.
"I won't ask anything. But let me heal you"
Seeing that he has no choice, Natsume just let himself treated by the stranger.
Amy first took out a clean cloth in which she slowly dab and cleans any blood on his body. Next, she put on some ointment on scabs and scraps that she could see. Then, she took his temperature and note that he is higher than usual. She then uses healing Alice stone and tried to use it in several places with medium to slightly heavy injury.

After the bleeding stop and the healing is done, while not 100% recover, his face looks better than earlier. No longer deathly pale. She then took out a paracetamol and a bottle of water. Helping him to sit up for a bit, she asked him to drink the medicine.
"Good. You should be ok by now. I have limited things with me now, but I highly advise you to go and see the doctor. Hopefully no infection..ok then. Take this scarf with you"
"Who are you?"
"No can do. My secret is mine alone. I don't ask yours and I hope you do the same."
"Fair enough... this.."
"Just take it. I have plenty. And.. take this too." she held out healing Alice stone which she has in spare to him. He needs it. Seeing that he wanted to reject it, she quickly forced it into his hand.
"Kbye." she quickly ran away before Natsume can stop her. Natsume just sighed, while feeling grateful. That person is a bit rough but warm.
"Thank you..." Natsume then proceeds to walk out of the forest and straight to his room. Meanwhile, Amy decided to go to the lake first so that she won't accidentally meet him on the way.
"Hmm.. I wonder if I should take some sample tonight?" she hummed slowly not realizing another figure watched her in the dark of the event from the beginning. Unaware of a pair of curious glint that just looks at her.

A Demon Lord's Reincarnation
Selina’s got a pretty active imagination. When doing math, she pretends that she is a great detective solving a heinous crime! Ordinary tasks, like a trip upstairs, turn into a perilous adventure to raid a dragon’s cave! She believes that life should be full of wonder and magic, and tries to force the world to cope with her conviction! But when Selina wakes up to remember her past life as the Demon Lord, she has to face the fact that real life is messy, and not anything like what she imagined. With ancient powers stirring, family problems, and the hectic life of a teenager, Selina will have to discover more about herself if she is going to survive the trials ahead. With the help of her best friend and a fair share of luck, she might just get through this alive. Maybe. (Updates (hopefully) on Sundays) This story started out as a flipped isekai. Instead of a hero being pulled into a medieval world, a Demon Lord is pulled into the modern world. It has since moved a bit beyond that initial premise but it is the foundation of the work. Along the way, I threw in dragons, elves, dwarves, and some vampires (but no werewolves, gotta nip that in the bud) all wrapped up in the political drama of a modern world. The story, however, will mainly focus on the characters and their development and as such, is a bit of a slow burn. It may take a couple of chapters to get into. You have been warned! (PS, please show patience for the author's notes. They're a bit crazy and don't always make the most sense. The author's a bit of a ditz. Please ignore him.)

Observations of the Nameless
Sometimes the world will just whirl by without a care for its inhabitants. Each passing day bring a new experience unlike the one before it. Why do we do anything... That's a really good question, isn't it? Author's Note: Each chapter is about 300 words, so that's the reason for the short story tag even though this will be a (somewhat) ongoing series. Expect an update twice a week on Tue/Wed and on Fri/Sat. No set time, but likely afternoon or evening.
