The colonists, enraged, because they lacked representation,

On all of these new laws, that were just simply taxation.

This new act of taxes on tea was the last straw,

Because King George passes these acts and calls each one a "law".

On December 16, 1773,

Bostoners planned a scheme, about the taxated tea.

They had enough of just simply shouting for protests,

So they planned on riding ships, and dumping tea still in chests.

When the time came to work, they dumped more boxes than a few,

In fact, they dumped 'bout 300, all of it being new.

And it worked! For Great Britain was just simply appalled,

That all of that tea, was just simply overhauled.

King George closed down Boston Harbor because of the raid,

Until every lost chest of tea was duly paid.

King George passed many acts to keep everyone in check,

Like the Act of Massachusetts Government, and the Act of Quebec.

In protest, in September of 1774,

The First Continental Congress was held, none like it before.

The leaders of most of the colonies came and petitioned,

To make a better country, that they all had envisioned.

And King George, that great King, was overrun with his pride,

And because of that, all the colonies would just simply not abide.
