My feet felt

the flowers flail

To the silky aria

Of a nightingale

In a pantomime

Of a colorful past

With all the deeds

That our shadows cast

In this relentless tale

Of life and death

The waters of death

Nourish the tree of life

And the autumn leaves

That are barely aware

Embrace the lake

For a deeper dive

Sweet and sour

In a thousand tones

Is this endless sky

At the start of morn

When the end of night

Is alit with dawn

Hello there! How was your day? :))

This is actually my second poem ever. At that time, it took me 5 days to write this!

It's heavy on meaning, it was inspired by the tree of life and lake of death from the bible.

I imagine both of these to be side by side and connected, even though I think one is in heaven and the other is in hell.

Every leaf on the tree represents a person's life and the leaves fall into the lake when it is their time. I imagined the lake to reflect our past when we face it (like a movie?)
