I hit the trifecta of disappointment. It is as though the tiny voice in my head told Fate precisely what I wanted. Then with one quick sweep, I got the opposite of all I had imagined. I did what anyone would do in my situation; I adapted. I learned to keep my head low and not make any sudden movements. Just as I had resigned myself to the dreadful despair that surrounded me, something changed. Things began to spin out of control and, like a tsunami, the waves came into my house and in one swift swoop, they swallowed me. I opened my eyes and saw my belongings drift away meaninglessly. I had worked so hard to build this house of mine, and now the roof was missing! When I came to my senses, I was in a new place that oddly felt familiar and safe. I was now free and knew how to play it forward, embracing the unknown.
